A genin trekked through the grass country from the village hidden in the leaves, his destination be the earth country. By his side was his faithful wolf companion, ready to aid if his master ran into any trouble or was attacked. The pair ran at great speeds, speeding across the grass country border as fast as they possibly could. The pair in question was Reiatsu Hita, the Sand wolf along with his pet-nin Fenrir. Both of them seemed to be very determined to get to Tsuchigakure, especially Reiatsu.

The reason for Reiatsu’s hasty, determined pace that was replacing his normal laziness was to find Tamotsu, Reiatsu’s sensei. Reiatsu had recently heard that his sensei had gone missing-nin and ran away to the earth country, possibly to become its Tsuichikage. Reiatsu wasn’t sure what he was doing, if he wanted to join Tamotsu or stay in Konohagakure. Their was one thing that Reiatsu was sure of. One qeustion that he needed to ask. ‘Why’d you leave?, Tamotsu?’

Tamotsu had just wrapped up things with Kaeor officially sealing his destiny as the next Tsuchikage if he were to die. By making him a Sannin, Tamotsu had sealed the future of his new land in sfae hands. He sighed as he and Jaken walked in the thick forest. He had much enjoyed this place and did not want to leave. Thinking that he could make a home here and run Iwagakure for this spot, Tamotsu began making plans for the area. He laughed as he and Jaken began running through the forest to see who was faster for a bit. The wolf barked playfully but was upset that his master was beating him. But then a scent caught his nose. A scent he knew well enough to make his heart stop. He slid to stop and then looked off to the south.

"Him..." He said softly as he charged backwards while giving a whistle to tell Jaken to continue on home. As he ran, the smell became stronger and more known to him. Finally, in the distance he could see him. His old student. "Reiatsu..."

Reiatsu moved faster through the trees and made his way toward what he thought was Tsuichigakure. Even Fenrir was not even able to catch up with his master as they neared their destination. Reiatsu began to move even faster then he thought he was able too without Hachimon when he saw a little bit of motivation. Out in the distance he could see a looming figure coming toward him and as Reiatsu got closer to him he could tell it was Tamotsu. ‘So…it was true…’

Reiatsu began to use Kinobori while jumping off the trunks of nearby trees at high speeds, bouncing around like a human pinball which made him much faster, a technique he had learned during the Chuunin exams. Reiatsu jumped to the ground and slid toward Tamotsu as his speed declined and he came near his sensei. Soon he stopped a few feet away from his teacher and instead of that blank, lazy look Reiatsu usually has he had a rare determined expression on his face. Reiatsu began to speak to Tamotsu as fenrir caught up with them. ‘Why’d you leave?” He asked his sensei with no hint of emotion in his voice, nothing to give a hint to what Reiatsu was thinking.

"Reiatsu..." Tamotsu looked at the young student before him as if hadn't seen him in a long time. The look in his eyes was one of defeat and shame but he quickly brushed it away and looked at him. "I asked you not to follow me. That is why my home was given to you. Why did you insist on following me?" Tamotsu said as he took a step forward towards his old student. He had not forgotten how the two were before but he wasn't sure he could bring himself to do it again. But his legs carried him a few extra steps. "Did the cub come looking for his master? Or is he coming home again?" He spoke in cryptic voice. He now stood no more then a foot away from Reaitsu and looked down at him. "Be honest. I'll know if you lie."

Reiatsu just stared at Tamotsu, looking into the Kage's eyes. All thought it was only for a few seconds, for Reiatsu it seemed like an eternity. Reiatsu opens his mouth his mouth to speak but no noise came out. For once in his life, he was at a loss for words. Finally he began to speak in the same emotionless voice as before. “So…that’s why you gave me the Hidden Dog Garden. That figures…” Reiatsu stared in Tamotsu’s eyes once more, trying to contemplate what to say.

After a few moments Reiatsu began to talk once more. “You know, when I first started my journey here I asked my self the same question and I really wasn’t sure. As I kept running along, I began to wonder why I was doing this. Why I didn’t just turn back, and no matter how I contemplated just going home I couldn’t even bring my self to turn in the direction of home or to stop running. It was strange, not once did I get tired or stop to rest on my way, as if some strange force in my mind just kept willing me to run towards. I didn’t even know where Tsuchigakure was but I somehow find my way here just by chance. It was all together strange…”

Reiatsu kept feeling like he was trying to avoid the question. It was almost as if he was afraid of his own answer. Reiatsu once more started to say. “The whole time I couldn’t stop thinking about you wan what I was going to say when I got here. It was one of the most confusing experiences of my life…possibly the most confusing experience of my life. I guess I just came here…to see you.”

Tamotsu looked at him unsure of what to say next. He took a deep breath and released it. "Your comapnion will find us in a moment. Come with me and I'll show you something." Tamotsu said as he grabbed Reiatsu and then Shunshined a great distance with him. They had crossed over 2 miles of ground in a split second, expending more chakra then he had ever done in one sitting. However, the view from the spot the two were at was incredible. It was a hanging cliff near a waterfall that seemed to go up another 200 hundred feet from their location. There were several flocks of birds flying around over the giant gap as the rush of water fell down some 150 feet below. Tamotsu let go of Reiatsu and sat at the edge of the cliff motioning for him to join him.

"I left you... and I'm sorry. But... I wasn't sure if you wanted to come with me. I wasn't sure that following me here was what you wanted. I didn't want you to be forced into a place you didn't want to be in with someone you... I did what I thought was right at the moment. And if I made a mistake, tell me now. And I swear that I will make it right." Tamotsu said as he looked at the water fall.

Reiatsu watched in amazement as he saw the beautiful sight before him and Tamotsu. He was so awed by it all he almost didn’t notice that Tamotsu wanted him to come over. Reiatsu absent-mincingly nodded as he sat down beside the Tsuchikage. Reiatsu suddenly felt an overwhelming exhuastion after his journey was complete from having to sprint all the way from Konohagakure to Tsuchigakure and he leaned on Tamotsu as he listened to his him speak.

When Tamotsu finished talking Reiatsu looked up to him and began to speak. “Tamotsu…of course I want to be with you. Sure, staying at the Hidden Dog Garden would have been nice but…” Reiatsu stopped for a moment, as his determined look turned into a smile. “The only reason I even stayed there was because of you. It’s only my home if you’re there. So…do you mind if stay with you, Tamotsu-kun?”

"Reiatsu..." Tamotsu sighed a moment and then looked back to the Waterfall. He was a bit inspired by the falls to be a great man and an even better teacher. He looked to his student and then wrapped his right arm around him and began pointing to the waterfall. "This river, leads all the way to Konoha. It supplies Konoha with a great amount of water that comes from the mountains just beyond the mountain range. It's from a glacier that very few have dared to go to. One day, when you are strong enough, I will bring you there, and we will train. Not as Master and Cub... but as... something more then that. Me and you..." He paused when he said that and then released his student. "Just... me and you." He smiled.

Reiatsu smiled as Tamotsu told him this and Reiatsu then wrapped his arms around Tamotsu. For the second time in Reiatsu’s he was at a loss for words, but it was more because he was so exhausted then anything else. Reiatsu yawned as he closed his eyes and said to Tamotsu. “That would be….the greatest, Tamotsu-kun.’ Reiatsu cuddled Tamotsu as he began to get more and more tired. Suddenly he felt compelled to say something he had never said before. “I love you.” Raiatsu muttered to Tamotsu as he fell asleep.

Tamotsu looked at the boy stunned by what he had said. He sighed heavily at the repercussions of this event and then lifted the boy up in his arms without another word. It was a long trip back to Iwa and he knew he would need his strength to carry the young one back. He was bothered by how close the boy had let him in. But for now, his most important matter was making sure things were right in his new village. He would whistle for an eagle to fly off and find Kaeor. He would need to speak to him soon about old matters and missions. He looked down to Reiatsu and shook his head and the laughed. "You're one stupid cub. But I'll look after you. I promise, as the Tsuchikage, I'll protect you until you can protect me." He said as an eagle appeared. "Tell Kaeor that I need to speak to him. We have to do several things if we are to move on with our plans." The eagle bowed it's head and flew off. Tamotsu smiled and walked off carrying his student.
