Kodo’s chakra filled his feet as he ran along one of the twisted braches of the forest. Kodo pulled two of his shuriken and had them rotating freely on the middle fingers of each of his hands. The large snake just swayed back and forth following Kodo’s every move. Kodo jumped off the tree and put his arms in front of him crossing them at his chest. Whipping his arms out Kodo released the two shuriken at the head of the large snake. They each made several dozen rotations before they hit the snake right on the top of the head and repelled harmlessly off.

The snake was angered by the attempt and showed it with an evil hiss that originated from deep within its throat. Kodo landed on a nearby tree and ran down its trunk. He was going to get up close and personal with this thing. If this wasn’t going to be a good sparing partner what would. Kodo yelled out- “Lotus!” just as his chakra began to flow to the four desired locations; his legs and feet, his arms and hands, his lungs, and last his eyes. Kodo could feel the power of this Taijutsu. He wasn’t as fast as he needed, but the power was there and that was good enough for him.

Kodo pulled 6 of his 10 remaining shuriken from his pouch and placed them one between each of his knuckles. He wasn’t going to throw them; he was going to use them to increase the damage of his punches. Kodo ran at full speed at the snake that was now coiling back for another strike. Kodo started to move erratically in hope the snake couldn’t lock-on and hit him. The snake lunged forward with his mouth gaping open. His fangs were outstretched and dripping with venom as he came ever closer to Kodo.

Kodo jumped at the last minute and punched hard with his left hand hitting the snake on the tip of his nose. His shuriken sank all the way into the scales and lodged themselves there. Kodo held on tight as the snake started to thrash about. Left and right it would swing its head trying to remove the fly in his face. Kodo couldn’t let go, if he did then he would be down 5 shuriken instead of just 2. Swinging around like an annoying peace of plastic that just wouldn’t come off Kodo looked down to see his sword at his waist. “My Wakizashi, of course, I’ll use it to kill the snake and then pry my shuriken off.” Kodo released the grip on his shuriken and drew his Wakizashi. At the same time the snake spotted him and opened its mouth wide and grabbed Kodo within its grasp. Thinking fast, Kodo plunges the tip of his sword into the roof of the snake’s mouth causing him to cease its closing. “That’s right reptile. Your jaw comes down and my sword goes up, right into your brain.”

Kodo’s stomach growled its dislike of being empty for so long. Kodo looked down in disgust. “Oh shut up. We are about to become food and your worrying about getting food?” Kodo’s stomach growled even louder. Kodo was beginning to think Mother Nature had something against him. First he gets chased by two moose, then attacked by a leopard, now he is about to be swallowed by a snake. This has not been his best week. It was also his first week as a ninja of Konohagakure. If this is going to be the pattern of his career as a ninja he may want to rethink things. That is if he ever gets out of this problem.

Starting to nod off from sheer exhaustion from training and having no food in his system for over 24 hours, Kodo pushes his sword further into the roof of snakes mouth. With a last stitch effort he shoves the whole blade up and collapses. The snake hisses its final sound as it dies once the blade pierced its brain. Slumping over a branch the snake’s mouth remains partially open as Kodo just falls asleep and falls out to a branch below.

Day three of training:
Nothing happens Kodo just sleeps through the whole day from sheer exhaustion

Day four of training:
Kodo awoke the next day to find that the sun was already high in the sky. “Damn I slept half the day away. I was hoping to learn this Jutsu after only three days.” Kodo was unaware that today will be his forth day since he started training the ‘Lotus’ Jutsu. What he was aware of is that he was covered in snake blood. “This is so gross, now I’m going to have to take another bath.” Looking up Kodo sees the dead snake hanging above him. “Well at least I’ll be able to get my shuriken back now.” Kodo climbs up the tree to the branch holding the dead snake. The stench was grotesque as the body had already started to decompose. If not for the mask Kodo always wares and the fact that his stomach was still empty, he would have gagged. Still the rotten flesh around the shuriken made them easier to retrieve. Upon reaching the location of his shuriken he found maggots swarming the wounds and his weapons. “This is so gross.” Kodo recovered his weapons and jumped down to the river.

This time he didn’t bother stripping as he needed his clothes to be cleaned as well. The blood came off rather easily when Kodo immersed himself within the river. The blood just flowed down river following the stream. Kodo surfaced to find Airazor taking a bath as well. He was in a small pool of water that had been created by a circle of rocks. The water was safe because it was still and not running like the rest of the river.

Kodo was finished with his bath when he noticed a small boar down river a bit. “Well Breakfast, or rather lunch, is served.” Kodo jumped out of the water and startled the young boar. He ran further down river. Kodo followed chase. “You won’t get away my prey.” Kodo didn’t know that this was a juvenile and that he was running to his mother and a very large group of wild boars. Kodo pulled out two of his ten remaining shuriken and threw them at the neck of the wile boar. They sliced straight through. The boar made one final squeal that could have been heard for miles. Kodo walked over to the boar that had stopped dead in a small clearing. Airazor landed on the dead animal and waited for Kodo’s arrival at his first real large kill.

Kodo removed his shuriken from the carcass and started to clean it. He was near completely oblivious to the eyes that were watching him from the surrounding trees. Something heard the final cry of his kill and they weren’t happy about it in the least. Kodo started to dig a fire pit to cook his meal after he was satisfied that there was enough dirt dug up not to cause a wild fire he started to look for rocks and limbs to use. Kodo walked near the edge of the clearing and picked up a few sticks that were just laying there. Hearing something that sounded like a cross between a grunt and a growl Kodo looked up. What he saw was a large swine with tusks at least two feet long. “Uh… Hi. Was he a friend of yours?”

Kodo dropped the sticks he was carrying as the large boar charged him. Kodo jumped and twisted into the air as he pulled out two of his shuriken and threw them at the boar. The boar in turn raised his tusks and the shuriken bounced harmlessly off. “What is with every animal in here deflecting my shuriken!?” The boar gave a large roar that flooded the area. Out from the tree line came a large group of boars they surrounded Kodo. Each one had tusks just as large and menacing looking as the first. “Why me?” Kodo had to ask himself. “I don’t think every other ninja had to go through this do they?”

Kodo’s chakra filled his form as he prepared for the onslaught that was to come. “Lotus!!” Kodo screamed as the first boar charged him. Chakra filled his arms as he grabbed the tusks of this first boar and stopped its charge. Kodo’s mussels bulged as he lifted the large animal up by its tusks and threw him away. The second boar charged and Kodo cartwheeled over the animal and struck him with his left palm and right hand fingers outstretched, his right hand pierced the animal with ease killing it. Kodo landed only to be knocked off his feet by a third boar. Kodo hit the ground hard. The third boar tried to spear him with its tusks but Kodo did his best to keep the animal away with his feet. It was about this time when Kodo was fed up. He had been chased by moose, torn by a leopard, almost eaten by a snake, and now he was getting mauled by living bacon.

Kodo used his chakra to attach his feet to the boar’s tusks. He then focused all his strength into his legs to throw the boar off him. Quickly holding the Ram hand sign Kodo’s chakra wrapped around him in a familiar fashion. A poof of smoke went off and a cluster of feathers appeared were he once was after one of the boars tried to spear him again.
Spoiler:

Kawarimi no Jutsu [Body Switch Technique] (Basic: Ninjutsu) {E}
Kawarimi is a widely used and very famous skill among shinobi. The user uses speed to their advantage, and grabs an item from the environment and places it on his/her current position while moving out of the way. This is clearly an evasion technique used to dodge attacks; however it can be linked with other jutsus or attacks to create massive damage if done properly.

I used some feathers out of Kodo’s sack.

Kodo was standing tall about 30ft away. His chakra was flowing around him like a raging brushfire. His solid green eyes now showed a hidden fire beneath their surface. “No more running. It is my turn to fight back.” Kodo bent down as he grabbed 6 shuriken and gripped them each between their own knuckles.
Spoiler:

Kodo’s style of cqc involves having 6 shuriken placed 3 in each hand between his knuckles. This allows his normal hand strikes to do more damage then normal. A Simple punch will do piecing damage because of the 3 shuriken. At the same time a palm strike that was made to just push the opponent back also does more damage. The use of 3 shuriken in each hand signifies the talons on a bird of prey.

“So who wants it first?” Kodo ran at the group of wild boars and they charged him.

Kodo jumped into the group of boar, His chakra flowing quickly throughout his body. Kodo went to strike one of the boars with his left palm and his chakra focused on that location strengthening the blow. When he attacked with a spinning kick to one of the boars sides his chakra focused there as well. As the wild board continued to charge him even after he’d hit them many times, Kodo began to notice how he was attacking and defending himself. Most of his strikes were coming from his hands and few from his legs and feet. He couldn’t seem to accelerate his kicks in the same fashion as his punches and palm strikes. His training showed him this and yet he couldn’t understand until his own body began reacting on its own. It knew what it could do and how quickly it could do it. Kodo also noticed that the longer this battle went on the faster his strikes became.

After what seemed like hours the remaining boars gave up with a snort and ran back into the cover of the forest. Kodo dropped to his knees holding his right arm with his left. His body was battered a bruised his right arm was limp and Kodo couldn’t move it. It was covered in his own blood from the wounds in received from the boar’s tusks. His clothes were torn from the battle and he would have to get his spare whenever he’d gotten back to the village.

(Lotus Jutsu Learned…)

He’d wondered what had become of Tamotsu-sensei. Had he forgotten about him here? Was he considered dead? Would anyone in the village miss him? These thoughts and others spun a web through Kodo’s mind as he looked around his surroundings. Seeing Airazor perched on the first dead boar Kodo killed he crawled over to it. “Looks like it is lunch time finally, pal.” Kodo opened his pack and pulled out a piece of cloth and tied it into a sling for his right arm. He then continued to build a fire to cook this pig. A task that was harder then he thought without the use of his right hand. Kodo had to strike a rock against a larger rock to create a spark to ignite the brush he was using. After several failed attempts at sparking the brush then running it over to his fire, Kodo finally go a good flame going. “I am a fire ninja; this task should have been easy for me.” With his fire burning steady Kodo started to clean the boar and cut slabs to throw onto the fire.

Once it was cooked Kodo and Airazor enjoyed their meal and slept next to the fire. The next morning Kodo awoke to find his arm still felt limp and he couldn’t really move it. “It looks like training is going to have to be put on hold until my arm is healed.” With his belly full, Kodo gathered up his things, buried the fire and quickly headed for one of the many exits to the ‘Forest of Death’. Once finally outside and free to feel the cool morning breeze on his face, Kodo released Airazor into the air and slowly made his way back to the leaf village.
