6 Posts to learn a D-rank Jutsu

"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
A tall, black-haired, silver-eyed girl in a white robe with light blue hem and cuffs stood in the grass, with some trees around her. Leafy ones.
She hissed through her teeth and narrowed her silver slitted eyes, then sighed.
"Why can't I learn this!?" she thought, gritting her slightly sharp teeth.
Orachima lifted her chin, closed her eyes briefly, then opened them and smirked. There wasan ambitious glint in her eyes.

She continued to try, after two hours exhausting herself.
"I think....all my chakra's...gone," she muttered, falling suddenly onto her butt. She laid back, spreading her arms out and staring up at the patch of blue, white-studded sky.
"Too nice of a day," she thought, closing her eyes and looking at the reassuring black of her lids. "Though days like these kinds of days are good for training, especially when you're teaching it to yourself. Not too hot, not too cold.

After about twenty minutes, still very tired, she got up, brushed off her robe, and continued to try.

Orachima fell, barely catching herself on the balls of her feet and her right hand.
Her heels hit the grass, as did the palm of her hand, and her left hand came crashing down to thud into the grass.
Her knees hit, and she coughed.
Just another hour, and she was in even worse condition. Did she have no strength today? Obviously.
She coughed again, hacking twice this time, closing her eyes in pain.
She surged to her feet again with a sudden powerful thrust of her hands, and swayed violently before sliding her feet wider through the grass and hunching slightly, coughing again.
She had made her own jutsu at twelve, atleast C-ranked, so how come she couldn't now learn a D-rank with half the effort?!
Her body shuddered as she coughed again, almost falling over, but she gradually grew stiller, then went through the motions again to do the jutsu.
As expected, it didn't work.
She tried again.
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
Nope.
Again!
No.
Again! Again!
Again! Again! Again! Again! Again and again and again!!
Orachima's body started shaking, but she continued.
"Kakuremino-!"
She suddenly fell, and couldn't help but fall asleep from exhaustion, almost immediately after she hit the ground.

Late afternoon, a figure stirred in the grass.
The possibly forgotten figure of Orachima.
She sat up, cursed loudly, then surged upward. She ran a few steps forward....and crashed head-on into a tree.
"How the??! How did that get there?"
She got up, slightly dizzy, then looked up at the sky.
A good seven hours rest. She shook her head. Well, atleast she felt good again, and it hadn't been a whole day.
Just over a quarter of a day, and she was fresh and ready to start again.
This was good. Very good. It would have been no use to continue the way she had been; so her body had taken over, without her consent.
But it was good. Otherwise she would have kept going and killed herself.

Orachima had a "reserve" of chakra within her, but why use it for this? If she did, she would never truly learn the jutsu. In order to actually get it down, though, she might. If she needed to, she could spend time perfecting it later.
Of course, after this, she'd have to start learnin more jutsu's, as many as she could, then passing the chunin exam, learning all those; the jonin, all those jutsu; then sanin.
Oh, she would get there. She had to. In order to obtain all the known jutsu's, (and have far too much power), and then start making ones herself, she had to get to sanin, and quickly, before her life ran out, or she grew too old.
Maybe once she was old enough, she could learn that "immortality" jutsu. She wasn't even sure if it was out in the public; it was forbidden, after all. She would just have to find it, steal it, and hide until she figured it out.
She just couldn't die in the middle of making a jutsu.

"Come on," she told herself.
She tried the jutsu again, closing her eyes and focusing on a black dot in the middle of a white paper.
This time she felt something surge a little, but it retreated. Orachima tried again. Then a bigger surge, but not even halfway yet.
Two more times and it was halfway.
Six more and it was three-quarters.

Orachima sat back in the grass, breathing hard. It would probably take eight more tries to get all the way, then atleast two to actually do the jutsu, and that wasn't saying effectively. Her hands slid back behind her, braccing her upper body as she stretched her legs out.
For ten or fifteen minutes she sat there, then laid back and closed her eyes, going into an awake-doze type thing for another fifteen.

Orachima got up off the ground, brushing off her robe once again. She pulled the light blue sash a little tighter around her waist, and got back to work.

"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
.........
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
.........
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
.........
And so on.

"No," hissed Orachima, stumbling backwards. She had tried it ten times and it hadn't come past 85 %. Next would actually probably be sixteen times, to get to 95 %. Then eleven for the last 5 %.
"This is stupid. Why does it have to be so frikking hard? A stupid soundless, odorless jutsu, and I can't even do this one. Maybe that one was D-ranked, but still, it didn't take long to create."
She shook her head, trying once again, focusing as hard as she could. There was nothing to distract her, no people or recent events.
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!" she shouted, feeling her chakra amount jump into its slot.

But nothing happened.
Orachima hissed again, loudly this time. Maybe this next time...
Concentrate.....concentrate.....
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"

Nothing. How could this be happening? Why was it not working?
She sat on the grass, deciding to rest a little before continuing. After all, she again should not continue in tjis state. It was not as bad as before, but it certainly wasn't good this time.
She took in a deep breath. let it out slowly, then fell onto her back, arms and legs outstretched.
Wait, she was going to fall asleep if she....NO...No.....no.......noo.

She woke up only two hours later this time, and when she woke up this time, she did not jump up and run into a tree.
Smart.
Instead, she got up, looked around, glanced at the sky to see early evening, then looked straight ahead again.
Closing her eyes silver orbs, she began to speak the words of the jutsu:
"Kaku-"
But she was interrupted, dodging a kunai aimed at her head with a quick, smooth step away. She would have died had she not had sharp reflexes.
What she was wondering was, if they wanted to kill her, why not in her sleep? While she had been on the ground, unaware and vulnerable? Maybe the attacker wanted a fight.
She stood a second.
"But he's not going to get one if he hides!!" she though, smirking, blood lust starting to peek through as she swept into the trees, swerving between the trunks at a very high speed. Then she began to look up and jump into the trees, but still he was not there.
"Did he....flee?"
Her brow furrowed, and suddenly a shuriken went whizzing by, cutting her sleeve and partof her shoulder off.
Blood spurted up, and she grabbed the left shoulder, jumping away.
Where had the attack come from? Surely behind her, but she would have sensed him/her. She didn't sense anyone.
And then, a noise right behind her, and a kunai at her throat.
She grabbed it with her left hand and pushed it away, leaving blood on the blade, then whipped around and punched him hard in the cheek with her right hand, twisting her knuckles into his face.
He went flying, hitting a tree with a loud thump. He started to slide down, but suddenly, if weakly, pushed off, and she smirked at him as he came at her through the air. He was putting himself in a perfect position for kick to the face, and a knockout, then death as he hit the same tree as before, but she wasn't going to do that. She had to see if she could make the jutsu work.
"Kakuremino no Jutsu!"
She dissapeared, blending into the bark and leaves of the tree branch she was on, and stepped aside.
He flew straight past, his expression looking very confused, and she held back laughter.
Orachima watched as he tried to stop, but instead he crumpled face-on into a tree, his limp body falling to the ground.

She watched his dead body for what might be considered by most a little bit too long, then jumped off the branch and walked back to the little clearing she had been in previously.
She looked down at her shoulder, the blood still oozing from the shurikens cut. She sighed. He had ruined one of her favorite robes.
"B******," she thought, sneering at the body only a few yards away.

Okay. To try the jutsu one last time and see if she could use it without being in a fight or battle. Probably. Once she did a jutsu, she could awlways do it. But she had to make sure.
"Kakuremino no Jutsu."
She turned invisible again.
She smiled for once, then rested a few more minutes to slow her breathing down and calm herself.
Once she had rested, she got up and walked away back towards the vilage, a quiet walk past the dead guy and through the little patch of trees. Once she got out of the woods, she would have to run to keep her robe from staining anymore.
