The sun shone brightly over the crystal blue ocean of the small country, Land of Waves. The seaguls and the few other birds flew overhead and the fish seemed to swim in the ocean. The people he passed in the town seemed so happy and socialble, something Mizuken seemed to have stopped doing. Anyways, it seemed so peaceful and beautiful in the Land of Waves, the perfect place to take a vacation. Unfortunately, Mizuken was sent to the Land of Waves for a D ranked mission. It would be his first mission as a Genin, so he was prepared for anything.
Reaching into his pocket, Mizuken removed a small scroll that held his mission. He opened it and read it to himself to his head. He would have to go see a man who needed help fishing. He thought of the mission to be boring, but he then began to think of himself being rewarded in the end by his village. Letting a smirk creep across his face, Mizuken continued on his way to see the man.
Mizuken continued to walk around the town and found himself to be seemingly lost. He had begun to walk in circles looking for the man's address. He couldn't believe it. He had gotten lost on his first mission! It was a nightmare. As things began to look down for Mizuken, he decided to ask a man working at one of the stores if he knew where the fisherman known as "Mac" stayed at.
Approaching the man, Mizuken asked the man politely if he knew where the fisherman was located. The man he asked nodded in agreement, but wasn't going to be able to take Mizuken to him for the simple fact he was working. Hearing this, Mizuken was about lose hope once more, but the man said his son could take him to the man. Mizuken's smirk came back across his face as the man called his son.
The young boy was about Mizuken's age as he appeared from the back of the store wearing an apron. The boy agreed to his father's wish and walked out of the store with Mizuken behind him.
"Well let's get on with it Kiri-nin", the boy said as he was a few steps ahead of Mizuken
"Sure thing", Mizuken said as he jogged a little to keep up with the boy
Now, Mizuken was on the right path to his destination. In a little bit longer, he would be starting his real mission.
About 45 minutes passed before Mizuken appeared at Fisher Mac's house. During that time, Mizuken and the storekeep's son had managed to develop a friendship. They talked about everything from the life of a Kirigakure Genin to the life of a islander in the Land of Waves. The conversation was so interesting to Mizuken and he felt that the life of an islander was so relaxed and really didn't have anything to worry about. No reason to fight, no reason to kill, and no reason to break up families. He personally wished the Ninja World wa sthe same way.
As their journey ended, the boy returned back to his store in town and left Mizuken to stare at his new destination. Mizuken saw an old, wore down, log cabin with an old, wooden picket fence surrounding it. He would get closer and closer to the fence and look up at the house seeing no sign of anyone at home. He walked up to the front door and knocked and no one responded.
Damn...I came all the way out here and he aiint even here...", he thought to himself.
Mizuken wasn't going to go home empty handed, he was going to get something. He walked around the house and saw a long, flowing river. He looked at the back of the house and saw a man sitting in a chair... asleep. The man's hat was tilted over his face, but it was clear he was asleep.
Mizuken slowly approached the man that was asleep. As he got close enough, Mizuken yelled out;
"AYE!!!"
This startled the man and he jumped out of his chair holding a fishing pole as if it was a weapon. The man's hat fell off revealing him to be an elderly man. He had all white hair, near broken glasses, and was wearing a pair of tattered overalls. The fishing pole he was holding was pointed at Mizuken, but as Mizuken was begining to get mad with having to run into all these people he said;
"Old man....you know where I can find Fisher Mac?"
The old man put down his fishing pole as he saw the headband hanging around Mizuken's neck. He could see that the young boy before him was a ninja from Kirigakure. He stood up straight and adjusted his once startled look to a happy one.
"Well well....they sent me a wet-behind-the-ears boy to handle my business. I guess thats what happens when you get old.....Anyways, you are late and you need to go to that river, plant me some crab traps, and catch me some crabs."
The tone the old man was taking towards Mizuken was actually enough for him to want to push the old man down and break a few of his bones, but then again he had to be nice. Without listening to the old man anymore, Mizuken turned and began to approach the river.
Mizuken looked into the river seeing that it was deeper than it seemed from a distance. He could still hear the old man yapping off behind him talking about how he didn't even know how to catch a crab. The annoying sound of the elderly man's words were making Mizuken want to hurt him, but instead he decided the mission was more important. Picking up a bag, he began to remove his black hoody, white muscle shirt, and baggy black jeans. The holding the bag, Mizuken dove head first into the deep blue river.
Under water, Mizuken spotted a few of the crap traps that were already placed in there. He saw that most of the traps were filled with crabs. He began to untie the traps and fill up his bag with the crabs. After he managed to put the crabs in the bag, he returned to the land for air. He placed the bag on the shore of the river and then returned to the river once more.
Underwater, Mizuken began to redo the traps and even set new ones. He would then return to the surface, take a breath, then return to what he was doing. He would do this for about 45 minutes until he had nearly 9 10 bags filled with crabs and had a good 30 traps set out. As he finished, Mizuken returned to shore, got dressed and then approached the old man who was still yapping off at the mouth.
When he tossed teh bags of crabs at the man's feet, he quickly shut up with his mouth gaping. He wa surprised to see that this unskilled fisherman had brought in so much. When he looked back up at Mizuken, an emotionless stare was looking at him. The old man went quiet as he handed Mizuken a scroll that stated he had finished his task. Without another word, Mizuken snatched the scroll and went on his way back to the Village HQ for another mission.
