Description: Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. The ninja will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance. While it may seem like the user simply appeared or disappeared, the technique is actually a momentary increase in movement speed towards a set location.

"So Hiroshi, you really think you can learn this technique before we assemble with the person we'll be starting a team with and our new sensei?"

The confident grin that Hiroshi wore did not quite fit with how he felt, but he kept it on his face anyway as he walked towards the entrance to the training dojo of Sunagakure.

"Of course, give me five minutes and I'll be back with a new technique in my arsenal. Prepare to be amazed Tetsuya."

His new teammate laughed at him as he waved and walked away and Hiroshi made his way into the dojo and towards one of the training rooms where he could work on getting the hang of a new jutsu.

So this body flicker move is meant to be a way of covering a short amount of ground really quickly, and it seems to be an illusion even if it's not. Sounds a bit complicated, and I don't know if I'll get it done in time, but I hope I can. I wasn't just trying to be cocky, I just want this new jutsu so I can be ready for whatever the team is tasked with.

Striding through the door to a free room, Hiroshi focused his mind as best he could for the hard work ahead.

Looking around the room, Hiroshi set himself into the middle of the training room and concentrated on the feeling of the floor beneath his feet. Feeling the chakra swirling within his body, the young genin attempted to focus the chakra in his legs so as to increase his speed as he darted forwards. However, the attempt was definitely not successful as his feet failed to keep up with what he wanted and he went sprawling to the floor in an undignified and definitely unsuccessful heap. He slapped the mat and slowly rose to his feet, wiping himself down with an annoyed expression.

"Great, didn't work too well. I should probably actually read the scroll first before just trying to do it."

Grabbing the teaching scroll from the pouch at the small of his back, opened it up and began to read from it.

Hiroshi scanned the scroll in his hands and tried to force the information to stay in his own head, almost willing it to stick.

"Okay, so it's not just where you stick the chakra, it's how you shape it and use it. Focus on the whole body rather than the legs, probably why I fell last time, over-balanced. Now, onto shaping the chakra."

Focusing on the chakra that flowed inside his body, Hiroshi set his mind on the chakra and attempted to alter it's flow, changing how it felt within his body. He saw it as a fuel, feeding his muscles and speeding himself up as he darted forwards, his entire being seeming to shift towards his destination, only to find himself once more on the floor, although he had moved forwards at least.

"Something positive while I'm tasting the floor at least."

Hauling himself back to his feet, Hiroshi tried to focus once more, ignoring the pain that was beginning to wrack his body thanks to the constant falls.

"Visualise the shift Hiroshi, visualise moving into the space."

Within his mind, Hiroshi focused on the piece of the floor which he wanted to shift to and flooded his chakra into his body, aiming to shift himself across the ground towards his targeted area.

Move!

Hiroshi found himself stumbling in the area of his target, but he had moved in the manner that was meant by the technique. Regaining his footing, Hiroshi turned to look back towards where he wanted to head back to and once more focused his mind onto the place.

Let's try speaking the name aloud.

"Shunshin no Jutsu!"

The shift worked. One moment he was focusing on the spot, and the next moment he was in the spot. A slow smile spread across his face as he allowed himself a moment of self-congratulation.

"Oh yeah."

"Right, I can do this, let's do it one last time just to prove to myself that I can."

Once more, Hiroshi focused his mind on the place he wished to shift to and whispered the words of the jutsu aloud.

"Shunshin no Jutsu."

He shifted and looked back at where he had just been, a grin plastered on his face now.

"Finally, it's done."

The door to the room opened and Hiroshi turned around to see his little sister walking into the room towards him.

"Hiroshi, mum told me to come and get you for dinner."

"Shunshin no Jutsu."

Hiroshi suddenly shifted from his position to behind his sister, tapping her on the shoulder and causing her to leap and yelp with fright.

"Let's go then."

"What did you just do?"

Hiroshi grinned and patted his sister on the head as they walked out.

"You'll find out when you're older."

[Jutsu finished]
