With continued repetition of the hand seals and application of chakra, Tetsaku became more confident and believed he was prepared to create the first illusionary clone. He performed the required hand seals, but nothing happened. He repeated the process several times, but again and again, nothing happened. He sat still, focusing for several seconds, thinking to himself.

A clone. An illusionary clone. In an attempt to mislead the opponent, I create a clone. Yes, I understand the purpose. But that will not be of much help unless I successfuly create a clone. Immediately he continued with the hand seals and a single mist servant apperaed. The mist servant remained visible for only several seconds before it disappeared. He made another attempt, and this time, the mist servant appeared for several seconds longer and took a single step before it disappeared.

Tetsaku fell on to his back, staring into the sky. He narrowed his brown eyes as the sun began to intrude. With a heavy sight he stood and sat in the shadow of the building once again. The servant will be similar to me. Therefore I must know my apperance in detail. I am not a tall, nor a bulky man by any standards. He shoots a glance at his skin and then shifted his gaze towards the sky. Darkened by the sun. That is a feature I will have to keep in mind. Darkened by the sun

He stood once again and performed the hand seals. Again a single clone appearaned, dressed in black. He unstrapped the kunai from his belt and threw it at the clone's chest. The kunai penentrated the clones chest, but instead of reforming, the wound in the chest continued to expand until the clone disappeared.

He walked towards where his kunai lied after it was thrown at the clone. He stared at where the clone stood and nodded to himself. Confident that he created a clone that could remain, he began to focus on maintaining the clone, allowing it to reform after being attacked. He repeated the hand seals and created a clone. He focused on the clone for several moments before slowly moving his hand for the kunai. The clone, as he expected, remained, and stood still, staring off into the distance.

"Now then," he said to himself as he threw the kunai at the clones arm. The kunai missed and he trotted to where it had fallen and threw it again. It hit the clones arm, and penentrated. He stood still, holding his breath as the wound remained on the clone for several seconds before beginning to reform. He walked to the kunai and lifted it again. He stabbed the clone in the chest, and again, it reformed. Tetsaku stabbed the clone twice in rapid succession, but instead of reforming, the clone fell, and disappeared.

Tetsaku created a further clone, and focused on it for over a minute after it became visible. He repeated with the same tests, stabbing the clone continually. This time, the clone reformed after two, three, four, and five attacks. Satisfied enough, he focused on the illusiory clone again. The clone could take steps by itself. Before I create multiple clones, I will have to create a single one as best as I can. He continued to watch the clone as it walked, smiling widely. And it appears as if I am becoming successful at single illusory clones. But I will have to keep in mind that these clones are entirely illusory. They cannot harm the enemy. They are solely used as a distraction. A distraction.

He focused on the clone yet again, and it began to throw a kunai, which in its nature, like the clone was an illusion. The kunai, even for an illusory one, was not thrown in a straight line. Instead, the illusion threw it a bit to high. It continued to throw kunai, but none of them could successfuly distract a target as they were aimed so horrendously.

Tetsaku began to experiment with the creation of the illusion. He performed the hand seals, and used less chakra than he has for a successful clone. The clone appeared completely normal, but when he atttacked it, instead of reforming itself, it collapsed. He created another such clone, with the same amount of chakra. The clone, despite his attempts, could not throw a singe kunai. He repeated the process, only applying more chakra than necessary for creating a single clone. The clone reformed after every attack, and could throw kunai. None of the throws were particularily accurate.

I begin to understand. If I use little chakra, the clones are not stable enough. Too much chakra, and the clones will not function properly either. I must find the correct amount of chakra to apply. Tetsaku created clone after clone, putting them through various tests. With each created clone, he observed how well and quickly it reforms after every attack, how well the clone throws a kunai, and how similar the movement of the clone appears to his actual movement. After many attempts, he successfuly created a single mist servant. The illusion reformed after multiple attacks, and it could throw kunais properly.

Tetsaku stood, kneeled behind his single, illusory clone. He attempted to synchronize his kunai with the clones kunai by throwing at the same time. He retreived his kunai after each attempt and attempted to throw from a different angle. His first attempts were unsuccesful, and he grew anxious, throwing far too early. Tetsaku finally succeeded in throwing in conjuction with the clone. Unfortunately, his throws were not very accurate, and visible due to flying above or beneath the kunai of the illusion. He sighed, but was satisfied. The accuracy of his kunai throwing was something to practice on at another time.

Now was the time to create multiple mist servants. Tetsaku slowly performed the hand seals, at first applying no chakra. He closed his eyes and took several deep breaths before repeating the hand seals, only this time, using the required chakra. One illusory clone appeared, and then another. He walked to the clone and attacked each. The first clone reformed, but the second collapsed shortly after he withrew his hand from striking the clone. Tetsaku did the same again, creating two clones, this time applying more chakra. He learned from his previous experiments that the clones are not very stable unless he uses enough chakra. After the clones appeared, he struck them to observe if they observe. To his joy, both clones did not collapse after the strikes, but instead reformed.

Tetsaku created a third illusory clone, and then a fourth and fifth. None of the illusory clones moved and he fell to his buttocks in frustration. He rested on his back and returned to stare at the sky. "This is irritating. I can create multiple mist servants, but they stand there. If they do not move, perhaps it is because I have not used enough chakra. More clones require more chakra then? If that is the case, then I can only create a limited amount of mist servants. I will have to consider that."

Tetsaku pushed himself to a sitting position from his back and took a deep breath. "I must focus. I am close. I cannot lose focus now." He performed the hand seals and nodded. Tetsaku stood and performed the hand seals, creating five mist servants. This time, he made certain to apply more chakra. This time, the mist servants could move, and even throw kunai. His lips formed into a smile and he threw his hands into the air. Not satisfied, he repeated the technique, creating five clones again. It took several attempts before he could create the clones in succession. Satisfied at having learned how to create mist servants. he fell onto his back and continued to stare at the sky silently.
