Traveling through the lands to her homeland, Reileyn had a dark and eerie feeling something was wrong. She sighed closing her eyes as she and Sephiroth traveled to Otogakure. A sinking feeling in her heart made her want to rush faster towards her home. Kirara followed her as Reileyn was picking up speed. She sighed looking onward seeing smoke and the trees were no longer there. "Tiana...Skye...please be okay. Please." She pleaded with herself, hoping everything was okay. As they got closer Reileyn saw it. Otogakure no Sato was longer on this earth. Reileyn gasped. Everything she knew and loved was gone. Her home. All the cherished pictures of her family was gone. The wind gently blew as tears ran down her cheeks Her hand clutched over her heart as she fell to her knees, "NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The wind blew harder as she screamed for the loved ones she lost, but for also losing her home. She was once again orphaned in this dark world of loneliness. Her brother was no longer able to take care of her. She layed on the ground crying clutching her heart. Kirara walked up beside her nudging Reileyn with her paw, // Reileyn...I'm here. It's okay.// But no words would get through to her as she mourned the loss of friends and family.

The silhouette of a broken man stood atop a nearby tree branch, one which was splintered and broken in several pieces from the rage that had taken place in his previous home. Though he usually wasn’t one to show emotion for anything, let alone things that were material, a slippery bit of water was beginning to swell within the small almond shaped eyes of the forgotten being. Leaning against the injured oak to support his weight, the man cut his eyes low, as he stared out at the smoldering ashes of what now remained of his seven year home. Houses were still smoking, as charred leaves blew by him, chuckling in his face as he stared out at his misshapen village. Subconsciously the man ran his mind across the Otogakure no Sato headband which he had lost in the fray that happened within Kiri. It had been a long time since he had felt this deeply about anything other than revenge and contempt for his fellow man. Six months he had been gone, attempting to find himself in the shadow of everyone else, until he had emerged a man…a real man. His feelings were no longer contained in a bottle, as he now knew how to express himself to the people around him…but what good was that now? His people were dead, or somewhere else that wasn’t his former home.

A grinding sound could be heard through his gritted teeth, and for a moment he thought it was in his head that heard the final deathly scream of the Otokage before him, as he grabbed a large clump of hair in his pale digits, as a large tear drop hit his open toed ninja shoes. It was only until the sound continued to drone in his mind, that he realized that it wasn’t his imagination taunting him…or that it wasn’t some sort of twisted nightmare, given birth by the destruction of Oto. As he turned his head slowly, empty eyes turned to see the red-haired beauty that was his former teacher’s sister-in-law. Suddenly his jaw dropped, before he managed to pick it up, forming a tight thin pressed line with his mouth. Seconds now felt like minutes, as the woman broke down at the sight of Oto, allowing her pet, Kirara to come and attempt to cheer her up. But even he, a man who didn’t have a heart at one time was burdened by this disaster, and he knew for a fact that her emotions were always stronger than his, making her feel worst about the situation than he did.

But now wasn’t the time to be acting like a sissy in the face of the woman who he now knew that he loved within his heard. His right arm was removed from the tree trunk, as he wiped his eyes with the back of his burnt black sleeve. As Sairyou did this, he formed kata, launching himself from the tree, and within an instant he had landed on the ground plush, after forming invisible handseals to propel himself forward. A loud hissing noise was emanated from his Shunshin, in honor of both Hebi, who he no longer knew the whereabouts of, and Orochimaru, the former king and founder of Otogakure no Sato. A death toll seemed to ring in the head of the raven-haired man, as he stood within inches from Reileyn, bending low, before scooping her up within his long, muscular arms. He didn’t even know if she even knew of his presence before this moment, yet he hoped that she wasn’t startled by this gesture. Looking down at Kirara, a slight smile broke across the man’s face, as he said, ”It’s been a long time Kirara…I hope you can forgive me for the way I treated you in the past…”

His words flowed like silk, as they were as genuine a gesture that the shinobi could produce, something he had learned during his absence from the ninja world. Only when he left could he watch how others handled situations, but firsthand experience was always the best. With the woman held in his clutches, he turned his head back towards her, eyes gentle, before they flared red, three small black tomoe surrounding his eye. This was to do nothing but prove that he was the real Uchiha, and not some bad mimic of a nobody who wanted to fake him. A slight grin appeared on his face, though it hurt him to do such a thing in the face of the phoenix, which was now reduced to ash. As it disappeared, he said in a low voice, ”It’s okay now Reileyn…if we don’t have the village, we’ll always have each other…” In the back of his mind, Sairyou wanted to tear the Kusanagi’s out from the sheaths, and butcher whomever was responsible for this action…but what would that do? Nothing, but fuel more hate. He and Reileyn now had to accept the fact that they were loners of the former greatness that was Otokage…and it hurt.

Reileyn continued crying knowing that the pain would never go away. The pain hurt her so much she could feel like being a former great ninja reduced to a missing Nin. Her long red hair flowed around her face as the tears rolled down her face. She was alone in the world, knowing nothing of love at all. Suddenly she felt an arm around her scooping her up. The presence of the person made all her emotions cave in. His dark raven hair flowing around his face. Reileyn looked at him as she buried her face against his neck crying hard holding onto him. She thought he was dead, but something unknown had happened to him. She looked at him tears soaking her face, "What happened to you , Sairyou?" She sniffled looking down knowing that in her heart she cared for him so much and she was glad he was back in her life.

The man continued to look down upon the broken, tear stained face of the Itichi woman, before she buried her face into his neck, allowing her tears to supplement his own body. Inwardly, the man still wanted to shed tears, but this wasn’t the way of the male shinobi of Otogakure no Sato, and he knew this better than anyone else. His arms moved under Reileyn’, as he placed them about her shoulders from underneath. As her head lifted from his warm body, she asked the inevitable question, the question which he feared more than anything in the world. She said, "What happened to you Sairyou?" As the tears were streaking down her face, Sairyou hardly wanted to look at her, as he turned away for a short moment, catching his composure, before he turned back to her. The reason he was so bothered by this, was because he was the Yondaime Otokage at the time of the massacre. He was in charge of the military…he was the one who was supposed to save his people from this horrible fate. Save his village from the tyrannical slaughter of an unknown enemy. But it was too late now…but would his final ally understand the reasons that he left? There was only one way to find out, and the Uchiha did not envy it.

Parting his lips, the sweet peppermint flavor of his breath flowed out, yet his words would be like venom to anyone who was from Otogakure. He said, ”I was…I had…I was in Kirigakure no Sato, with one of the new members of a task force I had just created, a task force to destroy Konoha and Suna. The member, Tai Niju, was the Mizukage of the Mist Village, which was grand, since we had to discuss battle tactics, and being military leaders was ‘grand’ for our objectives. Before our meeting was complete, we were attacked by the Hokage, or former Hokage of Konohagakure no Sato…Ukyo. He seemed to have some strange abilities, but nothing that I couldn’t rival with the Cursed seal and my Uchiha heritage”, A slight grin appeared on his face for a brief moment, as he boasted his abilities before starting his story once more. ”I did battle with the fiendish creature for a minute amount of time, before I realized that the point of the battle was…pointless. As he rushed towards me, his eyes were still locked on mine, as I cast him in a Genjutsu, right before he plunged his spear into my stomach. The Genjutsu gave him the illusion, and everyone else the illusion, that I was incinerated, when I really escaped from the fight with a weak stab wound.”

This was only a small bit of the chronicle, as there was no excuse to why he didn’t head back to Otogakure in order to help defend his village from the slaughter that was to come. Though there were to things in this that could have gone terribly wrong. Honestly he knew he couldn’t defend the village from such a huge threat that could just obliterate his village like this. The second was the fact that he wouldn’t be the man that stood before Reileyn now. But wasn’t it his duty…wasn’t it his task to die with his village? As he thought about this, his bit down on his lower lip, as his head dropped, allowing it to engulf his face, as well as allowing it to mix with the fire red hair of the woman who he loved. His voice was now just above a whisper as he said, ”The rest is unimportant…as it was just me lulling around, avoiding the village, becoming a more compassionate person. But was it really worth the loss of our countrymen? The one thing I do know is that…I’ll never leave your side again. I can’t risk losing you as well as my village. What would Zieg say…? And for that reason I now have one question for you, as he look out at our broken village, the homes of people we once loved. Itichi, Reileyn, sister of Zieg Itichi…will you marry me? Never part ways with me…we will make this village survive, even if it’s only in the hearts of us two.” He didn’t know how to react, all he could do was pull the woman a bit closer, and hope she felt like same way that he did.

Reileyn looked at Sairyou her tear soaked eyes looking deep into his dark eyes listening to his story. She wondered how he had survived the attack from Ukyo. She hugged him burying her face in his neck glad he was alive and back with her. She had missed him so much. She knew that they were destined to be together. Two scarred souls meeting together to stop the madness. She could feel him pulling her closer to him. Her long red hair blowing in the wind as his dark hair slid across his face. She heard him say he would never leave her again. Kirara meowed at the lovers, knowing that it was her duty to protect them. Reileyn gasped when she heard him propose to her. She often wondered what took him so long to realize that his feelings for her were true. She smiled softly putting her hand on his cheek, "Sairyou Uchiha. What took you so long? Of course I'll marry you." She smiled softly at him not needing a ring to become his woman. His life.

Even in the mist of such destruction, nothing seemed to be wrong at the moment, as his shaggy hair rested on that of Reileyn’s own red hair. As her hand slid to his cheek, Sairyou picked his head up a bit, as he placed his chin on the top of her head. A light grin was held on his face, as his new fiancé accepted his proposal, allowing them to be bonded together forever…or at least that’s what it would mean when they had a formal marriage. But that didn’t exactly matter right now, the fact that she accepted him as her future husband was good enough for him. Bringing his right hand from her shoulder, he eased it down slowly, as he found his future wife’s hand, before placing it in his own, interlocking their fingers together. Things couldn’t be more perfect right now; the smoldering village didn’t seem like much of a problem anymore, even if it was seven years of his life up in smoke. Closing his eyes, he fought back more tears, as he let his head rise once more, before looking at the village of the Sound. Where was a convenient place to a bridge the gap between the two tortured souls?

Of course the first choice would be Otogakure no Sato…but with it now decimated, that was no longer a choice. A frown cascaded over the face of the shinobi, as he began to think of a different place. Suddenly, a slight flash ran through his mind like lightning, as he remembered a tad bit of information that he had picked up on his travels. He wasn’t sure if it was true or not, but apparently Zieg, after leaving Oto, had become the Jyuudaime of Konohagakure no Sato. This could be good in two days, the first was that Zieg was the sister of Reileyn, and friend of Sairyou, which would make access into Konoha simple at the least. The second reason was because that was his home country, so that if they couldn’t get married in Reileyn’s first home, they could at least do it in his own. As he rolled his plans over in his head, a slight ‘hrm’ sound escaped his thin lips, as he wondered what the next step would be. His thoughts were soon vocalized as he said, ”Since you have made me the happiest man in existence at the moment, we must figure out what we can do.

Since we no longer have Oto as a main place to marry…I assume that we can wed in my home of Fire Country. Regardless of the current…status of the place, they should respect me enough to allow us to get this simple thing from them. Last I heard…your brother should be the current Hokage of the village, yet I’m not sure if this is true. But even if it isn’t…I’ll try my damnest to get it done. And if that doesn’t work, we don’t need a formality to know that we will never part…” For a moment he didn’t make a move, only waiting for Reileyn to say something. She also had a say in what would happen, they were of course mates, meaning if she objected to the idea, then he would take it into consideration as well. His eyes popped open once more, allowing them to look at the broken tree, the one that he destroyed when he was but fifteen. Sneering slightly, he let his mind wander for a moment, as he took his left hand, running it through his dark hair, before letting it drop into place once more.

Reileyn smiled softly at Sairyou, knowing her life was complete. even though her home was destroyed she was with the man she cared so much about. Listening to him she looked at him as her dark blue eyes peered into his. Hearing of marriage, "Well maybe it would be good to go to your home. I miss my home so much. But i might find more Itichi's in Konoha and it would be good to see my brother again. I miss him." she stated laying her head on his shoulder. She sighed remembering her brother. She brushed her hair back sighing holding Sairyou's hand, "I hope its true." She stated knowing that a formal wedding isn't what she needed. She wondered how people would handle the truth if the last knowing female Itichi and a Uchiha uniting in marriage would be. She wondered if she would ever see her brother again but for now she had Sairyou and that made her happy. " I miss Oto. I miss my family." She sighed hanging her head her red hair falling in her face covering her sapphire eyes.
