He stood up, closed his eyes, and didn't move at all. He wanted to get a feeling for the Chakra source. He wanted to feel what the technique was supposed to do. As he took in the feeling, he purposely released the technique, stopping the rain and losing the feeling of the other's chakra.
He stood for a moment, letting his chakra replenish. This technique would take alot out of him now, though he knew he'd be able to do it much easier if he did it just once. As his Chakra felt like it was back to normal, he formed the Chakra gathering seal, channeling in his Chakra once again. It was a rigorous process, though it was necessary.
Releasing the Chakra, a heavy downpour immediately started, surrounding the small area of wood Riku stood in. He could hear the sound of the rain drops patting down on the ocean. He also began to feel that Chakra source again. It was a little sharper now. He could tell it was relatively close, though not close enough for either of them to hear or see eachother.
He had succeded in making a large amount of rain like it should. Now, he just needed to focus on increasing the rain's target area and its ability to sense chakra. 1/3 of the technique was done. The next two parts couldn't be much harder, right? _________________ Geassnosenkai.myfreeforum.org

[[ I'm really gonna try and knock the last 1.3 out in this last post ]]
As the rain continued to fall, Riku looked up and closed his eyes, letting the rain fall down on his face. It felt nice and calmed him. Training was taking everything out of him. He had already used so much Chakra attempting the Jutsu that he knew he would surely pass out soon. His tail swung behind him slightly. He purposely fell down backwards onto the grass, sprawled out. He needed to relax for a while. He had never trained for anything so difficult in his life.
As he layed in the grass, the rain poured down on him, soaking his hair and his clothes. He could feel the Chakra source moving around, though it didn't seem to be getting any closer. He couldn't sense what direction it was in, though he could feel that it wasn't stationary. Riku pushed himself off the grass and walked to the edge of a 5 foot ledge. The ledge lead straight into the Ocean. The sound of rain hitting the water and the waves hitting the rocks was loud. As he peered out at the Ocean's surface, he could actually see just about how far his rain was going.
It was only reaching out about a good 50-70 feet. It wasn't alot, though it was more than most could do. He sat down at the edge of the cliff so his legs hung over, hanging only a foot above the splashing waves. He once again formed the Chakra gathering seal and focused. He took in the Chakra slowly intentionaly to reduce the strain on his body. He wanted to wait to pass out after he finished the Jutsu.
As he felt the Chakra inside of him build up, he released half of it into the rain in hopes of "tuning" the rain better so the ability to sense Chakra would be as good as it could. It began to work. The Chakra source slowly felt clearer and clearer until he could almost feel how close, or rather how far it was from him. Judging on the feeling, it had to be at least 40-60 feet away. Alsmost at the edge of his storm.
As the source felt like it was moving further away, he began to release more Chakra into the rain, this time focusing on the area the storm covered. Thunder boomed overhead, lightning lit up the sky, and the rain intensified, drenching anything in site. The sound of the rain water splashing down on the water's surface was almost louder than the sound of the crashing waves against the rock face. He stared at the surface of the water, watching the rain drops splash down and make ripples in every direction. As he stared, he noticed rain slowly accumulating on the areas of the Ocean's surface where it previously didn't touch.
The rain drops splashed down a little, then a little more, until the area ahead was now being riddled with tiny little splashes and ripples. The storm easily had to have grown by at least a few miles. Focusing more Chakra, he intensified the storm, further increasing it's length. He began to sense other's Chakra. Chakra he had not sensed before due to the small size of his storm.
This raised Riku's spirits and motivated him. He didn't give up. He constantly released Chakra into the storm and channelled more chakra into himself at a steady and even pace, further increasing the size of the rain storm and it's acute sense of Chakra. It had grown rather massive now. It had to be at least a dozen square miles around him. He felt all kinds of Chakra sources around him, mostly behind him away from the Ocean. Though, he did feel a few in the Ocean. No doubt people arriving on boats. _________________ Geassnosenkai.myfreeforum.org

As the rain widened, Riku could completely sense the Chakra of anyone within a 12 square mile radius around him. It felt good. The power of knowing people are around you. Yeah, he couldn't tell where they were exactly, though he could still tell someone was around him so he had a better chance of fending off against sneak attacks. He smiled as his eyes rolled back and he collapsed on the grass.
Hours later, he awoke with the sun shining through the clouds onto his face. Unfortunately, Riku didn't like the sun. He much prefered rain. Forming the hand seal, he activated his new technique and walked away in the rain back towards his village
