Chapter V: Where Peace Is As Empty As Darkness

Silence proceeded the following year after the 10 Tails destroyed most of Konoha. The events which lie now in history have begun to erase with time and people have begun moving on. After Syra was accused of murdering the Mizukage, she disappeared, forcing Inuzuka Tamotsu to be asked to step in momentarily as Mizukage. The former Kage began to resent being tied down and gave a time limit to the spot. Meanwhile, Suna's Ballian had gone underground for sometime, leaving many people to wonder what was going to happen to the sand country. Despite his brief disappearance, Suna survived.

Tamotsu grew sick of Kiri after two months and demanded his leave and took it leaving a young up and comer with no experience to run Kiri. Tamotsu returned to Iwagakure to see Kaeor only to find that the previous Kage he left had abandoned the country without a word. Feeling dejected without his friend, Tamotsu freed Iwagakure of it's wicked Lord and assumed Tsuchikage once more.

The same could not be said for Sairyou who took over Otogakure in the wake of Zieg's leaving and passing to Reileyn of powers. When Sairyou took over Oto, he was visited by Ukyo who had succumbed to the darkness. He killed Sairyou and headed off toward Kiri to kill Tai. While there, he and Tai struck a deal to save Tai's life which would require another to sacrifice themselves. The weakened leader from a previous fight with Kaeor, gave in easily. During this time, Xela, a former member of Sairyou's group, took leadership of Oto.

A few weeks passed as Iwagakure readjusted to a new leader before being attacked by an unknown force. Konoha began to feel the weight of the world on it's shoulder when it's leader simply vanished. Kiri's leadership was given peace for now it seems but dark forces are coming. Suna's Ballian has resurfaced but what he did and what he knows now is a mystery. Otogakure has begun rebuilding but with no alliances, where will it stand.
