Kaichi strongly resembles his favorite place to be, the forest. He prefers greens, grays, and blues over other colors. He has spiky jet black hair of moderate length. He’s lanky character, but a little on the slim side. His light blue eyes show his extreme intelligence. He is considered a gentle giant by many of his friends. He isn't a beast, but has muscle to show for all of his hard work. He has one scar on his back from his childhood when he was left unconscious by some shinobi, and many on his forearms. Other than that he is an average shinobi. He is left handed and very skilled with a staff. He usually has a small smile on his face, except when he is reflecting on his past.
Kaichi usually wears khaki-colored shorts, a gray short sleeved shirt with a sketched yellow sun on the front. He always wears sandals and a green, frayed bandana around his forehead. He wears his forehead protector around his right thigh and his weapon case on his left. During missions, he changes into a pair of dark green pants and a navy blue utility vest. He also wears arm guards to protect his arms from all of the enemies' attacks while defending his team. He carries his staff at all times and still with the green bandana on his forehead. When battles get tough, he moves the bandana from his forehead to his left arm for inspiration.

Kaichi is easy going, and usually calm in battle. He inherited this from the little time his parents were alive. He has a slight sense of humor, and is kind of quiet around strangers. When the battle is close, it tends to get on his nerves and he may slip up. When he becomes angry, he loses all strategy, but gains it in brute strength through adrenaline. You can usually find him leaning against a tree somewhere thinking to himself quietly. He is particularly shy around females. He rarely says anything to them unless they start the conversation. Once he has made a friendship with them, he will talk a little more, but still not overly much. He has a strong sense of honor, and really respects others. He will do what is right even if it may cause him discomfort. He really loves to eat, but is picky on what it is. He hates fruits and vegetables, and LOVES ramen, especially BBQ pork ramen. This is one thing that people can use to get to know him more because he is extremely talkative when he is excited and/or eating. His favorite game is chess, because of the skill and strategy involved. He defends his friends in whatever situation they are in, and would surely risk his life to save another's. He doesnt have the best balance for a sword fighter, but he works hard on it, always trying to get better.

Strengths: Kaichi is good with any kind of staff, and is usually calm in battle. He can combine jutsus very well and can think ahead during the battle to get an edge. He has very good finger dexterity, which helps with thrown weapons and his staff abilities.
Weaknesses: He can sometimes get a little careless during tough battles and makes mistakes. He can also get over emotional and lose all sense of control and attack wildly. He isn't as strong physically as some other Shinobi are. Without his staff, he can be thrown off balance easier.

Bunshin no Jutsu [Clone Technique]

Description: This technique must be mastered by any ninja who has graduated from the shinobi academy. It's the most basic technique a Gennin must know, since it can be a real lifesaver. This ninjutsu creates a simple illusion clone identical to the caster. The clone however has no physical properties and will disperse the moment it is touched.
Kawarimi no Jutsu [Body Switch Technique]

Description: Kawarimi is a widely used and very famous skill among shinobi. The user uses speed to their advantage, and grabs an item from the environment and places it on his/her current position while moving out of the way. This is clearly an evasion technique used to dodge attacks; however it can be linked with other jutsus or attacks to create massive damage if done properly.
Henge no Jutsu [Transformation Technique]

Description: Henge is the basic skill a ninja must know to become a Gennin. It's mostly used as a decoy, to confuse the opponent by transforming into somebody that's an ally with the enemy, and then attack from the back when he's not expecting it. This technique can easily be combined with other jutsus for a more powerful effect, such as with Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique].
Genjutsu Kai [Genjutsu Release]

Requirements: Learned From A Gennin Sensei
Description: A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja focuses their chakra and screams "kai" or "release." They can perform it on themselves or on others. It will effectively ward off most Genjutsu, unless extremely powerful or when used in conjunction with an advanced bloodline.
Suimen Hokou no Gyou [Art of Water Walking]

Requirements: None
Description: The user focuses their chakra to the soles of their feet and step onto the water. From the surface of the liquid, they would then need to be able to measure the amount of chakra it would take to support their weight along the surface of the water without sinking. Once this is mastered, the user would be able to easily walk on water.
Kirigakure no Jutsu [Hidden Mist Technique]

Requirements: None
Description: A ninjutsu technique that covers the area surrounding the user completely in mist. Once used, there's practically no visibility within the area of this jutsu for both the user and their enemy. This is a perfect situation for someone who trains in the art of silent killing.
Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu [Water Clone Technique]

Requirements: None
Description: This Ninjutsu technique uses water as its base for creating the clones. Each clone is one tenth as powerful as the ninja using it and has a limited range it can move away from its creator. Like the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique], this clone can attack as if it were the ninja themselves. One hit will destroy it.
Mizu Shunshin no Jutsu [Water Instantaneous Body Skill]

Description: The user will be able to disappear from their previous position in a swirl of water and reappear elsewhere. The distance they reappear to depend on the amount of chakra they choose to use.

Description: This jutsu is similar to the water wall jutsu, except the shield formed can only extend about two feet away from the source in any direction. It can stop most frontal attacks and is especially good at defending against fire jutsus. The user would probably carry a water source on his/her arm (Such as a canteen lashed to the forearm) so he/she could summon the shield at a moment's notice.

Description: The user creates a ball of cold water that wouldn't do any real damage to the opponent, but is used to counter fire techniques (mainly missile techniques). The balls of water intercept the fire, which puts it out and makes very hot steam in the area. The amount of chakra used is determined by the heat and difficulty of the technique.

Description:Using this jutsu, the user can spit a stream of extremely sticky syrup that covers the ground and holds opponents in place. Any ninja capable of walking on water can avoid being stuck in the syrup, but need to do so before being caught.
Background: Kotoda, Kaichi was born into a poor family in the Mist Country. He was born in the town of Pokkun. His parents taught him to work hard and to always help others. He grew up with a calm nature and was a quiet boy because there weren’t many other children in the small village. His father and mother died of disease when he was at a young age, and his older brother Tokonichi took care of him until he was 11. Bandits raided their town, and Tokonichi was forced to fight for the town. He and the others managed to defeat the rogues but he was fatally wounded in the process. He gave Kaichi the green headband that he wears every day now as a parting gift. Kaichi left the village to search for the bandit group that did this. One day as he was walking through the forest, he came upon a few men talking. They were covered in scars and looked like the same group of bandits that had ruined his town. He picked up a large tree branch and ran in screaming at them. They were in fact, not bandits, but a couple of shinobi from the Hidden Mist. They stopped his attack and left him unconscious on the ground. One of them left him his walking stick behind, for Kaichi. When Kaichi woke up, he saw the staff next to him. He stood up, grabbed the staff, and continued searching for the bandits. He suddenly came upon a pile of people and weapons laying on the ground, all of them dead. With a surprise shock, he realized that they were the same group of bandits from his village. He looked up to see the shinobi he had attacked earlier disappear. He slowly walked back to his village, but found no one there. They had all packed up their belongings and left. Sad and scared, he left the village and continued to wander the island, looking for a reason to live.
Kaichi was lost and confused for the next few years. He got on a boat and happened find himself at the Hidden Village of the Mist Country. There, he met a couple who had lost their son to bandits a few years earlier, and they took him in as their own. Kaichi decided to enroll in the academy so he could become stronger and help the other towns that were often frequented by bandits.
After finishing classes in the academy, he participated in the Gennin Exams. Being on the only team that actually got two scrolls, he was disappointed when the others weren't penalized. This disappointment disappeared quickly after he finished the exams and was told that he passed.
He went back to Mist village and met up with two other shinobi there. He was assigned on the genin team with Haldur, and had a very strict, but smart sensei. After many missions and a large amount of training he was allowed to participate with his team in the Chuunin exams. The chuunin exams went rough for his team, as they met with many other strong shinobi. Though they had some trouble in the second phase, they made it through and were all promoted to Chuunin.
Sample Post:
Kaichi had just woken up from a nice dream to the light streaming in through the blinds in his window. Yawning and stretching, he flipped off the sheets and jumped out of bed, ready for a new day to come. Quickly throwing on his clothes and sandals, he ran out the door for some early breakfast. Stopping by the local market, he grabbed a roll and then filled his canteen with fresh water from the well. As he peered over into the glistening water, he caught his own distorted reflection. Smiling to himself, he thought: Wow, I really have changed since I first became a Gennin. I know that many hard times may await me ahead, but this is what I want. I want to be able to protect those close to me, just like my brother.
Shaking himself out of the sad memories, he puts the thoughts to the back of his mind and finishes filling the bottle. He silently munches on the roll on his way to where he always meets his sensei: Training Grounds 1. It was the first place he met the ninja, and was the point that he like to go visit when he wanted to think. It was a shady place, with a few posts in a small clearing. Kunai were scattered everywhere and there were small holes and footprints everywhere, evidence of the practicing of the other teams.
Leaning up against one of the trees, he looked up at the clouded sky. The puffy white blobs seemed to lazily lay in the morning sky, with not a care in the world. They were the same way as on that day, that gruesome day. Fighting to hold back tears, he turned his sadness into anger. Pulling out two kunai, he viciously threw them at the post. That last action was all he could handle. Tears slowly dripped from his jagged face. Letting the tears run out of him, he wiped them from his eyes, feeling much refreshed.
Suddenly he heard a twig snap behind him, and quickly turned around. It was Haldur. Trying to hide that he was just crying, he waves and waits to see what Haldur would say.
