Bells.

The sound resonated far across the land of fire, as Everwill, the high priest, and multiple members of the Shire clan gathered at the memorial site. With each bell that struck, a deep and resounding vibration pulsed through each soul entering the place. Behind the two men at the front of the crowd, lay a small choir chanting a hymn. The priest sat, emotionless, Everwill almost the same, yet his usually sturdy face had a strange expression on it. His eyes were no longer tense and piercing, but loose, and weak. He had just lost someone he had known for quite some time. They buried the hatchet a long while ago, but sometimes one cannot say sorry for the things that they have done. Now Everwill could no longer apologize to Renima, for Renima had passed.

Bells.

He waited. Many would show for the funeral. It was the Hokage, after all. They would come from far and wide, enemies and friends. It would start when the sun reached the midday sky, and end before it had passed. The way Renima liked it, short and sweet. Villagers piled into the area, ninja alike. He even saw someone from the rick country, whom have had hostile feelings for Leaf for aeons now. Yet still he waited. The ceremony would start soon.

Bells.

(OOC: Playing as an NPC for Everwill, one post only)

The young man in brown robes approached the Memorial grounds where the funeral was about to begin soon. He was sent here for a purpose and told that if he died doing this purpose then he will be remembered as a man of honor and peace. He approached Everwill, based on the hearings of who he was and then took a deep breath. "My name is Jiro. My master, the Tsuchikage, Tamotsu Inuzuka, cousin of Renima, told me to come here and present you with an inheritance. He was told by Renima to give you this. He wishes you well and that you know what to do with this." The robed man pulled out one of the remaining 4 Elemental blades of the Wind Shire. It was the lightning one. He placed it down before Everwill and then walked off.

A cloaked figure soon appeared by Everwill, his face covered with the mask of an ANBU.  He stood motionless, watching everything that happened through the eye slits in the fox mask.

"so he's dead.... that makes me the last leaf ninja left out of our class at the academy.... " He shook his head, silencing a laugh. "and I was the weakest out of all of us. "

He looked over at Everwill for a moment before returning to his surveylence.  He himself had been on a mission for the passed few weeks and hadn't even known of the Hokage's illness until he got back.  His mask hid his face, which was probably for the better.

Everwill was surprised at the gift, he picked it up off the ground. Electricity flowed through the blade and into his palm; it was a soothing effect to him, lightning was his nirvana. Before he could thank the man, he had disappeared. I'll have to make a trip to Stone, to speak to this Tomotsu. He glared back up at the sky as another person appeared at the front.

Everwill glared up at the mask, the sun beating hard down on his face. "He was a very good man." He said to him, then continued. "Not to be rude sir..." he said, "...but I do pray you take off your mask when the funeral starts. In respect for Renima, of course." He moved his gaze back down to the massive stone structure erected in memory of Renima. The final bell rung.

The priest stood. "We will now wait for any last mourners to arrive, please be patient." The priest then sat back down.

"It is good men who die young."

Tamotsu appeared at the Memorial grounds wearing the robes of one titled the Hokage. His eyes were now green, no longer blue and pink. He looked at the man beside him who he could tell was Everwill given the sword he was holding.

"Renima, I knew him for some time. He told me that great men pick their destiny by the way they govern their hearts. He told me that finding something worth protecting in this world and making sure you do, is what makes one strong. In his eyes, protecting me and his country is what made him strong. Renima, did not die. He merely found something else to protect and went on to find it. In his place, I have come to protect Konoha and I ask that you watch over me. I am not Renima and I am young. And temptation is great when one is young. So great that one day I am afraid I may make choices not befitting a guardian."

Tamotsu looked at the casket and then up to the sky.

"That one day, something will come to me that my mind will beg for me to turn away but my heart will want it all the more. I am a man, and men make mistakes. I ask that you help me ensure Konoha's survival by ensuring my and showing me righteous path. For I have heard, you punish those who sin against the innocent. That you pass judgment on those who are corrupt. This alone instills fear in me. But even fear is not enough. I pray that you guide me with your wisdom, Everwill. I pray you find it in your heart to take a student who needs to be taught life. Like Renima took a student who needed to be shown his way of the ninja."

A small odd boy who looked like a human dog appeared beside Tamotsu.

"Uh, Master Tamotsu."
The boy spoke softly as he tugged on Tamotsu's robes.

"We're leaving now, Darien. Just saying goodbye to my brother. My teacher. My student." Tamotsu then turned around and walked off.

Kodo entered the Memorial grounds as he thought he could find his Sensei here. Kodo knew that Tamotsu and the Hokage Renima were close. He walked up to the box that now held the once proud Hokage. It was there he’d seen others morning the loss of their great leader. He recognized one of the men as his sensei Tamotsu. He was going to walk up and greet him but thought better of it. This was a time of morning, not of requesting training. Kodo thought it proud that Tamotsu was going to be the next Hokage. So many jutsu were now going to be open to him. Perhaps he could request the use of one of the Hokage’s scrolls when the time was right. Kodo didn’t think this time was it… Kodo watched as Tamotsu left with another small boy. He finished his trek over to the casket bowed his respect and walked off…

Allie straightens her black outfit, then combs her hair more. She was paying a bit more attention to looking good than normal. She grabs as shoulder bag, checking to make sure the flowers in it are in good condition. She rushs to her house's entrance, and slides her shoes on. She was the last person in the house, everyone was either working or at the funeral. She runs through town until she gets about 10 feet from the Memorial.

She brings her fevered running to a slow walk, showing her respect for the death of the hokage. She walks up to the line of those waiting to show there respect at the casket. The sad atomosphere helped her to stay still as the line moved slowly. After what seems forever to her, she gets to the casket. "Hey, Hokage-sama," a single tear flowed from her right eye. She never meet the man, but she was mature enough to realize all the things he's done for the sake of the village. She opens her bag and pulls out a half dozen snow white lillies. She puts them on coffin and bows, "Sleep well among the stars. I'll trust you'll keep and eye out on us while you're up there." She wipes her tear and let's the next person come up. Hikari, which have been following her jumps up and puts another flower on the casket.

Everwill got up. He walked up to the casket, and looked inside. "Renima my friend. I'll see you soon. You won't be lonely for long up there, I promise. Strengthen the heavens for me, will you?" He put his had on Renima's chest, and with the other took out a small scroll from his body. He placed it down beside Renima in the coffin, then placed another item in, a flask. "I knew you were never big on this stuff....but you still never had that drink with me."

He turned and began walking away, pushing his way through the crowd moving against him.

The wind had blown so swiftly through the trees as a figure had moved about them even faster than the wind itself. Each branch snapping from the over used pressure of chakra along with sunshin as each feet stamped away at the bark and outer surface of the wood as the figure moved with such speed like she was being pursued. Nothing followed, nothing closed in, but she was running away with all the doubt in her mind. The only thing she felt more than her tired breath after her mission was pain. Even without taking a single blow, strike, or self inflicted wound, there was lots and lots of pain that had weakened her heart to the point that it ached like someone was striking her continuously with each pounding thump of her chest. Her heart tried to keep up with the demand of strength to continue at the high speed rate as well as with the pain the young kunouichi felt in her heart.

”I said…I‘d protect him! I said he‘d be the reason I‘d get stronger…because…he was my purpose!” she had thought with her meek voice in her head as she narrowed her eyes letting the tears blurry her already dead vision. Her ears had already shown a world of black and white, what this trauma had added to her lack of vision was the color he use to bring to her world. He painted the picture in her mind with every mission and watched her grow. He was the first and maybe only to acknowledge her, and now he’s gone.

”He‘s stronger than that! I know it! He‘s the Kage!” her mind raced thinking about that small fact. She did miss his crowning, didn’t she? It was because she was so obsessed and lost time that she had forgotten to be there when it counted. She forgot to prove her point last and put priority first to know him and know about the people around him. Now she was starting to feel like she had abandoned him once again. Some big protector she was.

There was no light in the open field from the forest to the memorial grounds for her, but there was an open breeze shooting between the hollow passage amongst the tree tops as she had stamped her last few branches pumping her legs so hard, she didn’t even stop. She shot from the tree tops as her small body was airborne over the memorial grounds to the point she looked like something soaring and a small wetness that dropped like rain as her misty eyes had been battered by the wind, her tears. Foolishly enough, she had landed into the nearby reservoir near the memorial as she had made a splash into the water that was so hard and deep that surely the moistness would covet her tears.

She crawled to the waters surface using her chakra to walk atop the reservoir. She got herself settled placing knee on top of the knee on the surface of the water as it calmed. She panted heavily as she hadn’t even thought of picking up her walking stick. This kind of news only shocked a girl her age who had not much to live for. She dedicated it to that person. That one person who was in the casket as she didn’t even bother changing clothes the second she stepped back into the village hearing Renima-sensei’s name and the word “deceased.” She didn’t know where to look. Why did she come here? Because it’s where he met her and took her on as a student.

Crawling along the water surface, she had made her way slowly to the edge. Leaving her walking stick, at this point it was nothing but an unnecessary crutch as her heart beat so fast that she could place her hands on the ground and let the pulse be like radar for her, but she had noticed that Renima’s heart wasn’t beating, nor could she hear him nearby as she had her palms on the ground like a lost child hearing nearby presences and vibrations that were faint along with faces, but none of them like his.

“Renima sensai…” she had said amongst her whimpering of course calling out to him like a lot child. “Renima-sensai! I can’t see you! Please say something so I can find you!” she had demanded as she crawled with her knees on the ground and her beautiful white dress soaked along with her hair as she seemed thrown away. Her face had dripped with water…or was it water? No one could be sure, but they could hear pain in her voice as she had sniffled every now and again as her hands shook sliding them across the ground and moving her head as if it seemed like she lost her glasses.

“Renima sensai! Please use your genjutsu so I can see you! I want to know you’re okay!” she called out as she was only in denial knowing full well that the distant wooden box that was a casket could only be containing one person inside, and it was most likely the person she held dear said to be deceased. She cried harder until it was clear that she wasn’t just wet across her face from the deep soak, but it was because of her painful tears.

“Renima-sensaaaaai!” she had yelled letting her echo stretch far before she collapsed onto the ground drained of her chakra to the point she had almost twitched from the lack of energy. She had turned her hearing’s potential up to the max to prove herself wrong, but she knew it was no lie. She just couldn’t accept it. She was helpless across the grass looking useless and tossed away.  She was ashamed to call herself a ninja. Sure, she couldn’t stop a heart attack, she didn’t have that kind of ability. But…“It would‘ve been nice if you could show me your smile in color one last time.” she thought as she blacked out from the mental stress and strain.

Tamotsu had returned to the Memorial grounds to see the turn out of people as Everwill passed him by without the two ever looking at each other. He saw Allie there and watched her leave as well. But the scene that bothered him most was Disani. He watched her beg for Renima to awaken as if he had slumbered. His heart dropped greatly and he looked down, cursing Renima as if it were his fault he had died. He then cursed himself for not being able to catch the sickness before. So many records he looked at and never once had he found the trace of what claimed his life. He then looked back up and his eyes shot open when she fainted. He used Body Flicker to get to her faster and then picked her up in his arms, the same way he carried Renima. He looked at her and sighed.

"I owe you truth." He said as he walked off taking her to the only place he knew she could relax. The Hidden Dog Garden.
