The comforts of a bed for a ninja was not a safe haven, but a possible evil luxury. However, between the two that shared a room at the small Inn on the verge of the Sound Village, there was peace if only momentary. The day was new, but the sun hid behind the clouds making it seem like an eternal shading over the land. One would not be able to tell day from afternoon. The sounds of whistling birds and wind chimes gave a serene feeling outside in the new world he had entered.

"I... need to wake... up... now.

The small mound of covers shifted and the golden brown haired teen sat up looking about the room and sighed softly. It was all unfamiliar to him but there was little he could do. When one chooses a path to walk on, they must follow it. That is what he believed. And that was all he had for now. Himself, his new dreams and his interim protector.

"Where's Blood?"

Blood brushed back his hair from his eyes as he watched the paper intensely. His lucid eyes seemed to trying to burn a hole through the thin staffed paper with his powerful gaze. He held his head in his hand and a pen in the other. His hands danced quickly along the paper drawing intracite symbols too difficult to decipher in his thick longhand writing. He seemed to take no notice of what he was writing and kept his concentration directly on a single spot on the paper rather than on his hand.

the birds outside whistled brightly in the clear midday light. He had been listening for quite some time and found the beautiful song helped his endeavours. The neutral peach walls and small but cozy furniture added to the delicate feeling of peace. It reminded Blood of his old home back in the Mother Country. He smiled bittersweetly and found that the memories did not bring pain but merely a sweet sickness. This place was a sanctuary, a true home. Maybe once Blood was finished he could return here. He dwelled on that thought as his hand scribbled onto a fresh page.

Arekkusu had seen Blood working on something and his mind once more began to wonder over and over again about what he was up to. He wasn't fond off asking many questions but if he was going to get somewhere he would have to press matters best left alone. He slid out of his covers and tried to walk lightly across the room as to try to reach him without being noticed. He knew that his light frame would allow him to do so. He tried to restrain his breath as he walked and kept focus on taking light steps. As he approached Blood, he tripped on himself and fell with a loud crash and then whimpered a moment in pain. Then, furious that he made himself do that, he sat on the floor pouting madly.

"Whacha working on. And I remember asking you a question before that you didn't answer."

He ignored him for a few moments before muttering, " This is my life's work." He continued scratching away with the pen quietly for a few moments. He quickly rose in a flurry and threw the pen across the room. From the pit of his stomach came a frustrated snarl. He left the paper and walked over to Arrakusu.

" It... It is a symphony. Do not worry about it; it will be finished in time." He smiled but cursed himself silently. The boy obviously didn't know nor care if it was going to be finished; his own insecurities were not the problem of others.

" Once it is finished you can listen. Everyone can listen." He looked out the window for a moment before making long strides to the door. " Shall we be leaving? There is much to do with so little time."

Arekkusu jumped when he saw him shoot up from his chair and then his heart began to race. He flinched a moment when the threw the pen and then began to shake a bit. He was unsure of what he did, if anything at all. He was scared out of his mind at the violent turn from Blood, despite knowing that it was hidden in him. His eye's lit up with fear and the gleam in his eyes turned dull with tears in them.

"I'm sorry... I... didn't mean to make you mad. I promise to not bother when you're working on your symphony."

Arekkusu kept shaking a bit. If this man wanted to kill him, he was at liberty of doing so at anytime and that is what made him scared the most.

Blood looked into his eyes and visibly calmed. He shook his head as he opened the door. " Do not worry for it was not your fault, t'was my own. It is my own inability to write, my own inability to escape the limits bound upon me."

He let Arrakusu walk out first and for the first time noticed how shaken the child was from his outburst. Maybe it was time for him to save the riddles for later. He opened his mouth but no speech came out. He was deliberating how to put it in simple terms. " Do know that I would never harm a child; nor do I harm the people around myself. I would not even do harm to my family who exiled me and left me for death.

" There is only a few faceless that I wish for judgement to be brough upon, and I assure you this does not involve anybody who is innocent or hard working. These men are twisted and warped; yet even still I keep my distance away from their personal lives for fear of sympathy; we are all people yet war still ravages us, our minds, bodies, and perceptions." He sighed softly before cutting off. He doubted the young man could comprehend his the concept he was attempting to convey.

Arekkusu nodded and looked down. Everything Blood had told him was bit extreme and hard for him to understand without making himself tired. He walked down the busy streets outside with Blood and looked about the entire village in awe of everything. He had been to Konoha before but it was brief and he had little time to really see it. So, this rather small village would be his new eye candy. He yawned a bit, still feeling sleepy, but not much to impede their walk. As they walked his stomach grumbled and he looked down.

"I'm hungry. And you still didn't answer my question." He said in a cautious tone.

He wasn't seeking to provoke Blood but he didn't want it to go unanswered at all. If anything he would make it a small personal mission to find out.

" I don't believe you asked a question. And mind your hunger for a little while; we have work to do before we can eat." He stood tall above much of the bustling crowd and kept a good pace through the chatter and busy streets.

" Keep behind me; it is easy to get lost within the streets of Otogakure. The city itself is a maze of streets and alleyways with hidden spots and different levels of construction. It's quite amazing some of the history found in the buildings. Not much has changed since I last was here; the Otokage seems to be spending nothing on renovating buildings but rather on his superior armies."

He kept rambling on quietly as he wormed his way through the crowds. He took no notice of the exotic shops or odd people that passed him. They seemed to be looking at him darkly as if daring the outsider with no headband to make a wrong move.

Arekkusu tagged along like a lost puppy following a kind human who was going home. Only, both had no home and walked a path filled with what-if's and constant change. He looked around a bit excitedly having forgotten what he was told but the question was brushed aside once more and he grew impatient with Blood's avoidance of it.

"I asked you what you meant by give you faith."

Arekkusu finally mustered to say as the two walked along the streets. He would have to come to like silence whether or not he wanted it present. When dealing with Blood, he had a feeling that he would be hard to manuever questions and conversations around. He waited for his answer and sighed as he walked behind Blood. As people began bumping into him, he grabbed the back of Blood's shirt and followed along like a child.

"What work do we have to do?"

He threw in for good measure.

Blood kept his eyes on the path ahead but kept his thoughts to the boy behind. He thought for a moment before responding. " Think of it this way," He started slowly. " What it means is difficult to understand, and by the time that you do you would have already understood it without me explaining. Some things are better learned through time."

He let the thought sink in for a few moments before responding to the more direct and incredibly easier question. " I have some affairs to attend to. There are a few companies that I paid a loan to quite some time ago. Either I collect it now or we don't eat until I can find satisfying work for the two of us."
