The visage of a youth, a young woman was visible across the expanse of the desert, an intricately designed Kendogi of ornate golden lines tracing along the bodice and of a gray hue being donned, while the headband of Kirigakure remained tightly affixed to her right arm at the point right before her elbow. The metal plate with wave signs embedded into it's edifice glinting in the beaming sun as this figure continued her journey. The last portion of her ensemble was a Flak Jacket, belonging to Kirigakure, with a Senbon Pouch affixed to her upper left leg. Icy blue tresses of silky substance framed her countenance and brushed down her neck and past, to the midst of her back and revealing a pair of weapons; A katana sheathed upon her back and a Wakizashi sheathed at her right hip. Even without these weapons, she was quite deadly, as she held the secrets to the Hyouton Clan and could create her own source of water at will. Finally, she reached the gates to Sunagakure, glancing into the rather large village and glancing to the Shinobi who guarded the path inwards to it. "I am Rin Shouten, a Jounin from Kirigakure. I would like to have leave of the city to restock my rations before continuing my journey home to Kirigakure."

Eric had been training in the desert for most of the day with his shadow clones. He had already taken off his cloak and shirt since it got so hot, but the battle was far from over. He had four shadow clones out and he was battling fiercely with them. His sword of the thunder god was already out, and his strategies were almost out. Two of his clones went into a dance of the willows, slicing and stabbing, trying to reach him, but he ducked and weaved under them. When he got close enough, he used his hands and pushed himself up, his feet smashing into the clones jaws and send them flying.

He was totally exposed to the other two clones, who sent shuriken after him. So Eric whirled around, barely avoiding the pointy stars of death and landing back feet first into the sand. One of the clones got pissed at that and tried to rush him, only to have his hand brushed up and a fist slammed into his face, making the clone dispel. Not wanting the other to try and attack, he decided to end it then and there. He held up his hand, and a raikiri formed in it. He pumped more chakra into his hand and a rasengan covered the raikiri, turning it into an orb of pure light. It blinded the clone as he rushed towards it. "RASENTENKIRI!" He shouted, slamming it intot he clone, and the jutsu exploded, dispelling the clone and making all the sand within a two mile radius get blown away.

Having asked the Shinobi at the Gate into Sunagakure, she had opened herself up to waiting, as he had soon disappeared to gain confirmation that she was indeed a Jounin of Kirigakure and that Kirigakure Shinobi were allowed to enter - sneaking in would have been much more quicker, however wouldn't have benefited her in the long run. Having caught the training being done to her left side, she swiveled around, watching the man move with intent, studying his very movements before the Shinobi returned, however that's when she was blasted by sand, having gotten a glance of that attack. A glance was all she needed to be interested in this man, however she needed to enter the village to restock - which could be doe at a later time, so she walked over towards the one who had used it, smiling as she said "Interesting technique" and folded her arms inwards.

Eric reached into his bag and pulled out a towel, and got all the sweat off of him. He then put his shirt and cloak in it and walked towards the village gate. He noticed he had a little watcher during the end part of his training, and he must of saw the end part of his Rasentenkiri. The Suna shinobi didn't mind if he trained in their deserts, but he to make sure it was three miles away from their village. Getting a closer look at his watcher, he noticed it was a pretty woman, younger than him. She was also from Kiri, like Kite and Lita. Waving to the guard, he pointed at both of them, and when the guard gave him a wary glance, the glare he got in return was more than enough to let them both in.

"If you wanna get in, now's your chance." Eric told the girl.

"Thank you, I'll take you up on your offer." She said, following Eric into the village of Sunagakure and past the Shinobi who had refused to allow her in previously before continuing downwards the shaft in the wall beside this mysterious shinobi. He was strong, stronger than her even, and she could respect that, however he seemed vaguely familiar to her. "You're pretty strong, and that last technique of yours was beyond anything in my arsenal." She said as they continued walking down this corridor. "I'm Rin Shouten, I'm a Jounin from Kirigakure as i'm sure you've noticed."

"Eric Hatake, Sannin of Konoha, master of kinjutsus, kenjutsu, and taijutsu." Eric said, introducing himself. He looked around and saw all the distrustful looks and glares Rin was getting from the populace of Sunagakure and wondered what happened between them. Him and Syra got in easy, as did Kite. The latter two were from Kirigakure and they didn't even get half the looks this shinobi was getting. "This is weird. My friends from Kiri come in here all the time, and they don't get nearly as much hassle as you do. Something up?" he asked her, since it was awhile since he dove into politics.

"Konoha has an Alliance with Otogakure now, and Kirigakure is still at war with Otogakure. As far as anything beyond that, I wouldn't know as I've been in Konoha for quite some time." She said, then smiles, managing a slight laugh at Eric's expense. "I see, It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Eric-san." She said, brushing the icy blue hair away from her countenance with the back of her hand as they emerged from the corridor and into the actual village of Sunagakure at last, however they weren't quite at the village yet, they had to walk a little ways yet. "do you like Dango, Eric-san?"

"Not my first choice of food, mind you, but yeah, I like dango." Eric said, and his rumbling stomach made an agreement. "My stomach says yes too. So long as I can get a rice ball and some tea with it I'll be fine." he said, slightly blushing at the somewhat rude action of his stomach growling. Then he remembered her other earlier words. "It's nice to meet you too, Rin-san." he told her, his salt and pepper colored hair was blown back with the gentle breeze that came at them. He looked at the scars at his chest, and sighed a bit, knowing he gave himself those for nothing.

A large falcon flew high overhead, cawing in the great desert heat. He drifted slowly downward in his circular motion. In a few moments he landed onto Eric's shoulder. There was a scroll container on his back; he waited until Eric took it before flying off once more. The note read:

Dear Eric,
I do not know how to tell you this so I will make it short.
It is over. I can not continue this relationship. I will always
be alone and there is nothing we can do about it. Please do
not give up on this child though. I wish for you to remain a
part of her life as her god father. I will notify you when she
is born. Until then. I am truly sorry, but I must stay true to
My feelings.

Eric read the letter very carefully. He wished to call it a fake, but it was in Syra's own handwriting. It had her scent on it as well. When he finished reading the letter, tears flowed down his eyes. Then he laughed, and he laughed hard. He thought it was kinda ironic really. He left her, now she was leaving him. All he could do was just be a good godfather, and never know the meaning of love. It hurt him to his very soul, but he continued to laugh and mask the pain through all the tears.

Finally, he stopped laughing, but the tears continued. "Fernir." he thought out.

The spirit wolf stood next to his master. "Yes, Eric-dono. What is it?" he asked.

"Fusion." he whispered, and his golden eyes, along with his hair, teeth, and nails, went completely feral. "Okami fury." His now sharp nails were extended with chakra. Throwing the letter into the air, he leaped towards it and shredded it beyond recognition. That was for him to see only, and he saw it. After he landed he let go of the fusion and sighed. "Let's continue." he whispered to Rin.
