Shu rolled over in his sleep, snoring like a deadened log. He was almost sounding like a gorilla slowly being beaten up with a stick. After a while his own snores woke him. He sat up and got out of bed, there were some clothes laying on the floor and he put them on. A series of random turns and a weird episode with a bathroom, led him to the outside. He was in the same house he ran up on, so instantly Shu began to worry. With barely any noise he sneaked behind the house, and was almost about to run when he fell in a pond. "Gurgle...." Shu waded around after falling in, the water feeling good.

Tamotsu had been resting comfortable in a small tree fort up on the tallest tree. There was a small cot for him and a heating plate to eat when he deemed neccessary. It had been two days since he had brought the Genin to his house and he hated the silent company. As he slept he heard a giant splash noise and he sat up in his cot. He yawned and stretched out before standing up. He looked out the tree fort and sighed when he saw Shu. "He has issues." Tamotsu said as he jumped out of the tree fort and laned on the pond but not going in it. Rather he was standing above the water, walking on it.

"Had a good sleep?" Tamotsu said looking at him.

Shu was having a good time wading around and throughly enjoying himself until Tamotsu showed up. Then he froze and looked behind him at his sensei. "Uhhh uhhh." Shu started to back up, moving away from Tamotsu. "Ye-yes. Thank you." He stared at Tamotsu with a horror and looked like a deer in the headlights. Without meaning to he brought his arms up to his chest as if to block himself from being hit. Shu looked back and forth nervously and wondered what to do. Slowly he kept backing up and climbed out of the pond. "I uhh I uhh, what now?" Shu hoped nothing bad would keep happening to him, but somehow he knew he was gonna get hurt again.

"Haha. You remind me of Jaken and me and we would play around in there. For you to find this pond on sheer luck is amazing. So I'll teach you how to walk on it. If you can do it here, you can walk on water anywhere. So, what do you say? Wanna learn?" Tamotsu said with an odd softness to his voice. He held his hand out to Shu and smiled brightly. There was something about the Cherry Blossom trees and the cool wind which kept Tamotsu calm and tranquil. "I promise not to hurt you again."

"Just kinda like what you did for Kinobori, make chakra get to you feet and make it somehow balanced enough to hold your weight. Remember that it's not solid like the tree so the same pressure from before won't work." Tamotsu said as he waited to pull him out of the water.

Shu stayed a little back then grabbed Tamotsu's hand. He smiled at Tamotsu and nodded. "I'm guessing I need to know these jutsus you are trying to teach me? I understand they are helpful but you are really trying to teach them to me. I'm just wanting to know why you are trying so hard?" Shu smiled again to help his face not get beaten in from a personal question. After Tamotsu would answer Shu would walk towards the pond. For his first try he would use the same amount of chakra as the tree. Even though Tamotsu said not too, Shu had a good feeling about it. He stuck one foot out onto the water and fell in instantly.

"You got overly anxious. Try to focus a bit more and realize that there has to be a set balance for you and your body over the thin layer that make up the water's surface." Tamotsu said as he walked away from the pond and sat down looking at Shu.

"I guess, since no one ever taught me anything I would teach others what they need to know to survive. It's just basic human kindness I guess. I try not be too rough on my students but I overdo it sometimes. sorry for before. But I wanted you to see that in the real world, on your own, there's no luxuries like I afforeded myself." Tamotsu said softly.

Shu burbled under the water for a little, taking a drink. He pulled his head up after he got his fill. Shu nodded back at Tamotsu. "I've always just taught myself everything. Thats exactly why I went away for 4 years. I was teaching myself how to better bond with my guardian spirit." Shu turned back towards the water. He formed some chakra on his hands, then rubbed his hands over his shoes. This thought had come to him as a better way to spread the chakra over his feet. He had made it lighter than before and he hoped it would work. Shu took two steps onto the water, and sunk about 2 inches under the water.

"I owe you dinner. So hurry up and get this right so we can eat soon." Tamotsu said as he began to meditate at the pond side. His silence must have bothered Shu since he was suppose to be learning by him. But then Tamotsu began to speak in a voice not his own. "Control your chakra and make it a thick layer and then spread it out over the water like a plank." He said.

Shu held a determined look on his face and was really determined. He wasn't ready to give up on this latest try. One foot lifted up and Shu rubbed on a thicker layer. His foot came down and it rested lightly on the water. Shu lifted the other foot and did the same. When that foot came down, he leveled off on the top of the water. "Ehhhh!" Slowly he lost his balance. As he tilted forward, he took a bunch of steps forward. For a little more time he wobbled back and forth taking steps to balance himself. He wasn't ready to give up yet, since he was soo close to getting it. "Almost! So close."

Tamotsu had heard his failure in his meditation and stoo up eyes closed. He walked over to the pond and pulled Shu out and held him far too close for anyone's comfort. He looked down at Shun never once opening his eyes and then gave a smile of pure horror. He began to strangle Shu and then spoke. "To make this jutsu work, you must first understand how to make chakra flow contiously and with a balance. Doing this will enable you to in the future to learn extreme jutsus." Tamotsu said as his body relaxed and his eyes opened. His pink colored eye gave a small gleam and the blue one seemed to be normal. "Sorry." He said a bit embarrassed and let Shu go.
