Tamotsu wasn't too happy with the end result of his first mission. Somehow he failed to remind all the members, including one in specific, that the were looking for Deer. And that they were the chasers and not the other way around. He grumbled about it a moment as he remember the incident of two rather angry mooses chasing one of his Team members and him having to Gatsuga the beasts away. The situation was rather embarrassing for Tamotsu who was a Jounin and should have instructed the Team better.
Though a promise was a promise. He would take the failed Genin as a student. He waited in the Forest of Death for his pupil to arrived. In the mean while he began thinking what he would do about his own training. _________________

Kodo walks through the entrance of the dreaded ‘Forest of Death’. Why would Tamotsu-sen want to meet him here. Kodo knew this place as one of the locations for the Chuunin exams. He was no Chuunin, nor did he think he was ready if they ever came up. He was just recently chased through the extending forest outside the village by two very large moose. The ‘Forest of Death’ held many more dangerous and large animals that wouldn’t chase him because they were scared. They would do it because they were hungry.
Normally Kodo would release Airazor into the area to scout, but this mite not be a good idea in here. There are large snakes and other bird that would swallow him whole in here. Kodo thought it better they should stay together. Kodo thought for a moment as he walked deeper into the forest. “Where would Tamotsu-sen be waiting for me?”
Kodo looked around and found a tall building in the center of the forest. “That will be a good place to search. It is after all the most recognizable thing in this forest.” Kodo started for the building, Airazor flapping his wings behind him. After about 10 minutes of running Airazor told him to stop. Looking around Kodo spotted Tamotsu-sensei just standing in a small clearing with a pond near by.
Walking into the clearing he waves to his sensei. “I made it Tamotsu-sensei. I’m really glad Airazor found you so quickly. Tamotsu gave him a look of deep shame and embarrassment. Not only did he want to avoid mention of the Moose Incident, but he wanted to forget the whole mission. However, Kodo brought the memories back and Tamotsus cried a bit. He straightened himself out and nodded.
"Despite the whole Moose thing, a promise is a promise. And since you did basically... bring something back... I will teach you something. Get used to this place... It will be your home for the next few days. Me and you will train mercilously. Everything you learn will be made tougher upon you. You will fail, you will bleed and you will brusie. And you will not eat until you succeed. So pass over your rations and let's begin."
Tamotsu said as Jaken went up to Kodo and took his food and brought it to Tamotsu who nodded.
"Tree Climbing is a ninja's best friend. It's application is not as easy as one thinks. It's literally making the tree the new vertical base for the person. First, put you hands to make the Ram seal." Tamotsu demonstrated by doing so. He walked over to a tree and nodded. "Then focus your chakra down to your feet." As he said that, his feet lit up with chakra. "It takes alot of control but once you have it... try to place your foot on the tree trunk and try walking up. It works if you can reach me." Tamotsu said as he climbed up the tree rapidly to the top and sat down.
"Begin!: He yelled down to the ground as he pulled out a deck of cards.

Requirements: Learned From A Gennin Sensei
Description: The user concentrates onto the soles of their feet and coats them with a layer of chakra. Once this is done, the user will then be able to walk up any tree like they are walking up a regular foot path.
Kodo was following his sensei’s words up till the part where he had to surrender his rations. “Wait no food until I succeed? Succeed at what? This first Jutsu or the whole training. Several days is a long time to go without food.” After a moment he gave up his rations to Jaken. Then he paid close attention to what Tamotsu-sensei was saying.
“Not as easy as it sounds huh. I’ll show Tamotsu-sen. Chakra control is my specialty.” Kodo walked about 200ft from the tree that now held Tamotsu-sen’s weight. Placing his hands together in the Hitsuji sign Kodo first focused his chakra into his hands. Then his chakra traveled the long path down his muscular system to his feet.
With his chakra focused in his feet, Kodo made a beeline for the tree. Reaching the base of the tree he shot up it like fire on pine, reaching about halfway up its think trunk. Feeling confident he mastered this jutsu, Kodo slowed to a stop. “This was way too easy Tamotsu-sen-” Gravity took over real fast after Kodo stopped his assent of the tree. Kodo dropped like a stone. He tried to grip the tree with his chakra but placed too much and the tree cracked by the force.
Kodo hit the ground with a loud thump. “What could I possibly have done wrong? Tamotsu looked at his cards not paying any mind to Kodo who was prepping himself to climb the tree. He turned one of th cards around and noted that it was blank. He nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay, to make Info Cards, I would have to focus chakra to my finger, and tranfer information through it into the card. That sounds easy." He smiled as he took a finger and placed it on the card. He closed his eyes and began focusing on the card. The tree shook heavily and Tamotsu opened his eyes and looked down as the card went poof. "I did it!?" He looked at the card and there was a single letter on it.
"What a waste." He glared into empty space.
“What could I possibly have done wrong? I was half way up the tree.”
"You're an idiot! You didn't keep an even flow like I told you too! You put too much and your chakra pushed you off. AND YOU MESSED UP MY TRAINING!!!" Tamotsu yelled. "Do it again!" _________________

Kodo sat on the ground for a minute contemplating where he must have gone wrong. Then looking up at the top of the tree he’d seen his Sensei who looked very mad at him. “I did too have an even flow. My chakra control was perfect!” Kodo returned to his feet then held the Hitsuji sign once more. “I’ll show you Chakra control!” Kodo said with a yell. Chakra began to emit from his dominant foot. Both his feet began to show the familiar glow. He drew his foot back then smashed it into the tree. He made a nice print of his foot about and inch into the tree.
Kodo Placed his foot within the grove. It was a perfect fit. With his dominant foot held within the trunk of the tree, he proceeded to do the same thing with his other foot. He charged his foot with chakra then smashed it into the tree. It too made a nice print of his foot. Lodging his other foot within the grove. He pulled his dominant foot out of its place, only to find out it was stuck. He pulled and pulled but couldn’t get it to come out. After about 3 minutes of pulling he became fed-up and just supercharged the amount of chakra within the foot and caused the wood around the foot to splinter. Tamotsu rolled his eyes. "Watch him fail again. He's too proud." Tamotsu yawned and went back to work on his card. He took one and placed his finger in it. He began transfering chakra to the cards and it poofed again. This time nothing appeared. He growled and began to try again with another card. He began to focus as he transfer chakra into the card. He smiled as he looked at the card and nodded. The card poof but only one letter appeared.
"DAMNIT! WHY DO YOU FORSAKE ME CARDS!?!" He yelled at the card.
He felt the wood of the tree splinter again and he looked down just as Kodo fell again. "If you don't focus, i'm gonna start eating your food. Got that!? Learn to control chakra by focusing without anger and so forth. That way you keep an even flow. If you keep slitting the tree and I fall... I'm kicking your ass." Tamotsu twinged a bit. _________________

Kodo looked at the tree and then looked at Tamotsu-sen at the top. Then he looked at a tree near by. “Well I don’t need him coming down here or he may not continue my training.” Kodo thought to himself. “I’ll just train on those trees then when I get it I’ll go up the one Tamotsu-Sensei is on.” Kodo walked over to some trees that were near each other. “I bet I could repel up these trees by bouncing of each of them.”
Kodo held the Hitsuji sign once more. Chakra filled the souls of his feet as he walked to the first tree. Taking his first step he held his foot there. As his foot began to slip he slowly added a bit more chakra. Once his foot felt like it was securely staying in place, Kodo shifted his weight and placed his other foot on the tree. When that foot began to stick he shifted his weight to it. “ Tamotsu-sensei I think I’m getting it.”
Chakra control seemed to come naturally to Kodo and he didn’t seem to know why. He had already taken two steps up this tree and it looked like he was going to make it a third. Just then Kodo’s weight shifted to his foot that wasn’t attached to the tree. Again he fell to the earth below. "Okay so there is a trick to switching chakra between each foot to allow free movement up the tree. I can get the chakra there, it is just my speed that needs work." "If you were getting it... you wouldn't be on your ass right now. Try to learn a consistancy. Don't alternate chakra from your feet. The same level must always remain at all times." Tamotsu said softly.
He looked back at his cards and sighed a bit. "Okay. Now... let's try again. Think of the info I wanna transmit into the cards and focus it into my chakra. It may not seem like a useful jutsu, but in essence I can obtain information and pass it along at the right times." He grabbed another card and took a deep breath. He held the card and pressed his finger against it. He focused slightly. "I wanna transmit all the Data I know about me on to the card." He said to himself as he began making chakra go into the card. A small poof went off and Tamotsu smiled. He had seen a full profile of himself on the card and laughed.
"Haha, I'm an AB- blood type. I didn't know that." He smiled having completed his small training.

ic: Kodo knew he was getting it, even if Tamotsu-sensei didn’t believe him. Kodo got back on his feet. Holding the Ram sign, once more he charged up his chakra then transferred it to his feet. “Getting it is the easy part, it’s holding it that is difficult”. Kodo heard what his sensei said about not fluctuating his chakra but keeping it at the same level.
“Now how am I suppose to keep my chakra at the same level if I have to switch it to each foot as I’m climbing?” Kodo thought for a moment then came to a conclusion. “If I use too little chakra then I wont grip the tree. If I use too much chakra, I’ll repel off. When I get the chakra amount just right, my foot gets stuck on the tree and wont come off.” Then it hit him. If he charged up chakra in both his feet rather then just one at a time, it wouldn’t take him as long to shift the amount of chakra he needed to attach and release his foot.
Kodo meditated on this for several minutes before actually trying it. Once he was ready he held the Ram sign once more yet couldn’t charge chakra. His chakra was gone. He had used what he could up. If he tried to use any more, he could end up in the hospital. Thinking Tomatsu-sensei wouldn’t mind if he took a quick rest he dropped to the ground and closed his eyes.
