(No, Teg... I was already sick of fighting you when I used Kokuangyo no Jutsu. I was trying my best to end it quickly, so that I would just leave this topic.)
He managed to hear the last words of his enemy, and as much as he hated to admit it, he was right. He run away because he was afraid... afraid to die. True, He was at his prime, and as a ninja, it wasn't going to get much better than that... but there was one more thing he felt he had to do before he died. He had to have a child before he could ever fight to the death, for if he didn't, he felt it would have been the same to never exist at all, to never be anything more than just another Nara. "You are both right and wrong. True, I was afraid to die, but not because of fear of death, but fear of a lack of existence. My whole life as a ninja, I've wanted to prove to the world that I was unique, that I was more than just another member of the Nara clan. I refuse to die until my legacy can be continued... one way or another."
(This explains why Ryuzaki proposed to Megume a while back. It wasn't really out of nowhere, Lava, for the two of them had been teammates for a long time by then.)
