OOC: union of stars - fyodor666 (Commander Malekith of the 7th Mobile Armour Division)

IC: Commander Malekith surveyed the battlefield from the cockpit of his Z-198 Battle Suit, the most state-of-the-art battlesuit to date. It was equipped with proximity sensors, a jetpack, two shoulder-mounted missle pods with 16 missile in each, three assault cannons and a rail gun attached to each wrist, two burst cannons mounted to each side of the head, and two auto-cannons at the waist to intercept enemy fire.

All in all, he was a walking death machine. His armour was made of a Tritanium alloy. His battery pack could run the suit at full power, all weapons firing constantly, for a full hour. There were two more of these suits in his division, as well as three heavy weapons suits, armed with two arm-mounted laser cannons, a powerful force field that cannot be used whiel firing, and a half megaton nuclear device that could be triggered when power was low after using the force field to get close.

"Ahead full, men! Loose all weapons! Leave no one alive!" he screamed ove rthe com as he himself charged. All six assault cannons on his suit cut into the enemy lines, leaving swaths of dead or injured bodies. His missiles bombarded the trenches, causing mealstorms of firey death. The auto-cannons and burst cannons intercepted enemy missiles, and his railguns came to bear on two enemy hover-tanks, tearing a hole through each one.

While he did this, his squad follow his lead, firing all weapons and not caring for their own safety. Only the nuke-suits, as he called them, remained cautious. If they were destroyed, the whole squad would take heavy damage, so they only fired when safe.

Lothar continuously fired his laser guns as he cut through the enemy ranks. It was mostly light infantry - the Cardinal Military, as the enemy called themselves, usually fought in numbers, not quality. I would never fight for a faction which does not appreciate its soldier's lives. Sending them out like this... just to be massacred.

The Union of Stars possessed superior technology and had an advanced training for all military, however serving in the army was not obligatory, and it wasn't for hundreds of years. Had this been changed because of this conflict, the Union could fall into a civil war. The Cardinal's Military, however, tried to make up for their lack of technology in numbers. While causing great casualties, it did get the job done - up until now most battles ended in their favor.

He moved behind an immobilized tank as a few grenades flew past him. Not good. If I get a direct hit... Let's see. They are mostly light or medium infantry, and most use atmospheric breathing units. A toxic should do the trick then. Lothar loaded his cannon, and then fired it over the tank, without looking. Just about thirty seconds and... The toxin used in the creation of these bombs was specifically made to get through any kind of filter. If anyone without an autonomic breathing system was to get in the area... well, Lothar really would feel sorry for him. The effects of the chemical were... unpleasant: once inhaled, it began destroying the blood circulation system, causing massive inner bleeding.

From the other side of the long trench came the sound of heavy gun rounds. Lothar looked from behind his cover and saw Zack, who was moving towards him. Well, if that's the case... let's give'em hell! - he thought, as he got his ion cannon ready. Most of the enemy units in the immediate area were either already dead or dying, the rest quickly followed as Lothar began discharging his weapon. The ion cannon wasn't as good against armor as a plasma cannon, but it had the ability to distort force fields, and still got the job done.

This is mission control, we're detecting large amounts of enemy light armor heading your way... reinforcements are unavailable right now... preparing an ammo drop at point 17,12/88,40... east of your location.

OOC: im moving on........ since no one else has posted yet.

IC: Zack finished firing off the last of the ammo belt just as the last soldier was killed. He fed another strip into it and began walking forward toward his ally, while looking up at the battle above them. The cardinal military may have ground superiority, but the U.O.S. always claimed victory in the skies. they were able to combat the enemy numbers with mass amounts of AI fighters. Two cardinal military fighters flew overhead, in pursuit of one of the AI fighters.

There was always more wreckage of the U.O.S. fighters on the ground however, but that was mostly due to the weapons that the fighters used. The AI rotated its turret and fired a burst of pure energy back one of the fighters, completely vaporizing the material where it impacted. A few more shots went off and what was left of the enemy craft fell to the ground.

Zack's attention returned to the ground, and to the transmission that went over the comm. He pressed a button on his headset. "copy that command, ready to retrieve the drop." He pressed another button and a tactical screen moved in front of one of his eyes, showing a map with the drop point and the delivery craft on it.

He looked up and spoted the ship, a Flare gunboat, named for the explosive rounds that the many turrets on it fired. He watch for a moment before seeing 3 tank shells rip through the gunboat, cauing an internal explosion to occur before spiraling into the ground, a bit behind the enemies front line.

He opened a comm link with lothar before turning back to him. "never make this easy for us do they? if were going to get that ammo, we have to retrieve it." He straped the chaingun to his back and pulled his assault riffle back out. "lets get this over with." He waited a moment before crawling out of the trench and began charging straight at the enemy possition.

OOC: Sorry for the short post...

IC: Sergeant pulled out the explosive bullets, laying low as heavy gunfire flew above his head. He emptied his clip, and shifted the others in. A click, and he had his gun up. He steadied his arms, and took aim. He double shoted, the first bullet ripping through the armour, and the second destroying the engine. The explosion ran rampant in all directions, covering all the surrounding vehicles.

Sergeant didn't need to see. Four more sets, and he had taken out the vehicles. His soldiers around him did the same, ripping through the squad. Sergeant took aim elsewhere, killing soldiers all around him.

The night was getting deep, the darkness hiding the blood drenched fields of corpses.

As night fell, he was nearly out of bullets, "Sergeant, permission to go retrieve more munitions!" He continued to lay on the ground, but army crawled towards his commanding officer. Just as he lifted his head to place his gun on a mound, a bullet rent through the dirt right next to him. Unphased, he took aim and shot the owner of the closest bullet yet, Almost. He laughed and then silenced himself, as he waited for an answer. The night was concealing most of the enemy units, but that wasn't a problem, since, when it got dark enough, he would just flip on his night-vision goggles.

OOC: I'm so sorry for not posting here for over a week... just kill me >.<

Lothar caught up to Zack and adjusted his speed so that they were running almost side by side, besides the fact there was a considerable distance between them. They both needed that to maneuver, and in case the enemy would use explosives, so that one of them could continue advancing. It was also the best attack formation the two of them could manage.

The enemy position was just like any other combat checkpoint they've encountered. Two gun turrets on the sides, a number of infantry and armor in the center, and high barricades all over. While the Union was superior in technology, the Cardinal's forces were far superior in numbers, and thus, building power. Thankfully, Lothar was a specialist in wrecking stuff.

The turrets started firing as soon as the two Steel Hounds moved within range. Lothar put his beam sword in front of him and pulled a blue trigger on the hilt. The beam disappeared, only to reappear milliseconds later, but this time, in a round shape. This beam sword-shield was also a new development in the beam-weaponry area. It allowed to quickly switch between offense and defense. So far, there was no way of protecting oneself against a beam weapon other than another beam weapon, so it was the perfect weapon, in a way.The beam shield was also almost the perfect defense - it deflected all kinds of energy, laser, plasma and ion, and effectively incinerated projectile-based firearms. The only two problems were that it set off any explosives it touched, making things only worse when encountered with heavy weaponry, and it needed massive energy source. It was the main reason Lothar's sword weighed that much.

As high-caliber rounds were harmlessly destroyed by his beam shield, Lothar noticed that with the advance of the two Steel Hounds, the rest of their forces regained their morale and followed close behind.

Zack grinned as he noticed the large amounts of troops that had started following them. Rather than using his beam sword as a shield he simply opened fire with the chaingun he was carrying. A storm of bullets riped through on of the enemy turrets , killing the gunner and causing the weapon to explode a few moments later. Behind him came mass quanities of fire as the rest of the troops opened fire, including a light mech that was escorting some infantry.

A few moments after the first turret went down, several light missles screamed through the air passed the two steelhounds and hitting the second turret directly. The tank in the center of the outpost seemed to be slightly damaged, and appeared to have been damaged by the crashed ship, most significantly on the anti infantry turrets. The vehicle still opened fire however, using its main cannon instead, which took out about 3 soldiers everytime it fired.

One of the shells crashed into the light mech, riping one of its arms off completely, but shortly after the mech fired a shoulder mounted ionized flux cannon, which imediatly vaporized the massive tank.

Zack took cover behind the wreckage of an enemy vehicle as the opposing infantry concentrated thier fire. He quickly riped another grenade from his belt and lobbed it over the wreckage, into the center of thier formation. a second later, several bodies flew through the air from the kinetic energy of the blast. With out skipping a beat, Zack charged out of the cover and continued the attack.

OOC: I guess Syra and Teg forgot about this topic...

IC: Once both the enemy turrets were brought down, Lothar turned off his beam shield and switch one of his "eyes", to zoom mode. This is just what I suspected. They are using force field generators. Once our infantry gets in range of that large gauss cannon... it will be a massacre.

The Gauss weaponry was one of the more destructive energy weapons ever invented. While it did not have the ability to pierce through force fields like a ion cannon, it had the power to discharge it in one shot. It would also be one of the few things that could break through Lothar's beam shield. The other problem was that it had 100% accuracy rate, since it's "bullets" traveled at the speed of light. The only downfall was the weapon's fairly low range.

The Steel Hounds Captain retuned his comm-link to his comrade's frequency. Zack, fifty more meters and we'll be in range of their gauss cannon. It is protected by a force field as well. I have two EMP charges here, but each one will only give us about half a minute until the cannon and it's force field will reactivate. We'll have to move quickly.

Lothar paid no attention to the chaos around him. Right now, they had a certain goal, and if the two of them would fail... it would mean the breach of U.O.S. defenses at this point, as well as death for both the Steel Hounds. He kept advancing towards the enemy positions as he readied his launcher. One EMP charge, coming right up, - he said and fired his weapon. The large grenade flew towards the enemy position and exploded as it made contact with the force field, sending a powerful electro-magnetic impulse in a considerably wide range. Let's go, quickly. It was all up to Zack to take the enemy's cannon now - Lothar's ion weapon didn't have the pure destructive power to pierce through the armor that thing carried. The best Lothar could do is fire the next EMP so that it would give them the most time possible. 30... 29... 28...
