ok wow i feel like a dunce. i tried this and well it didnt work out at all. i got to like right before the c4d and basically it didnt look anything like your render. i dont think its detailed enough about switching to each layer.

Lol i made this result along time ago but forgot to post it.

Oh and lava with the c4ds you used in this. The filter displace would have been able to be used alot in this.
