Charoo shook his head confused at the statement and looked down back at the earth. "Perhaps i am a fool for trying to protect anyone when it only causes pain since that seems the only thing i am truly able to do anymore." he said as he patted the earth flat with his hand and concentrated on the spot with some chackra and pushed the earth away creating a small crevice. Quite a few worms were shown there body's wiggling feverishly to go back into the earth. "Even now that my body is failing i want to protect some...that's why i came for you when i saw you in the dog garden...and just now in the mud." he said as his cool white eyes watched the worms.

Tamotsu looked at Charoo and then took a crystal from his pocket out and then held it up. "From our wedding ring." He said as it sparkled. He looked at Charoo and handed him the crystal and then placed it in Charoo's hand. "Sometimes, a soul can be more then just an item. It can exist in emotions and memories." Tamotsu said as he tried to move his legs and realized he couldn't. The fact he recovered faster then he thought was good. He then looked to the floor and waved his hand in the air. The wind blew hard which meant he could use his chakra. "Maybe, your soul is safer with you then me."

Charoo looked at the crystal as it sparkled in his hand. Suddenly he felt stronger and some color came back to his face. "This...No way...It cant be..." he said as he held it up to the sky. The small crystal sparked with a blue glint. "This is my...my soul...." he said surprising himself with this information. "I thougt...it was gone....forever..." He looked at Tamotsu in surprise. "you had this...all this time...i thought you....would have destroyed it.." he said looking down ashamed at that thought. "I wonder?"he said as he slowly concentrated on the jewel as it suddenly filled with chackra. "There we go now lets see if i can..." he said as he performed a hand seal and it suddenly sank inside his skin.

Tamotsu looked at Charoo who made the crystal disappear and then he looked as Azure was replaced with the black of the night. He sucked his teeth and then laughed. "I couldn't destroy it. It's like a part of my history. Burn it, maybe. But not completely get rid of it." He said as he grabbed his own leg and began applying chakra to it and felt it move a bit. When that was done, both legs could feel again and he stood up weakly. He sighed and leaned against the tree and looked at Charoo. "Besides, I can't completely shut you out of my life."

Charoo looked up at his master and mentor and sighed gently. "Does that mean you have tried?" he said standing up. He started to get some color back in his skin and his eyes started to slowly become a gentle blue. "I mean...did i have such a negative impact that you tried to forget that i was ever part in your life?" Charoo slowly stretched his aching muscles as life still flooded from the tiny gem that had been absorbed into his skin. "I always wanted to keep you close to me but it seemed like i always ended up to leaving you for more power or knowledge." Charoo felt ashamed of himself and looked up at the man.

Tamotsu looked at Charoo who sighed and then managed to get the feeling back in his legs. He then dusted his legs off from the dirt and looked at Charoo. He said nothing as he thought about every incident they had together and how Charoo would always end up away from him. And when he thought he was dead, Tamotsu could feel the extreme pain in his heart. He then shook his head. "I didn't try. Its not something done. It takes time. But, I've done a lot to you as well." Tamotsu said as he walked forward stumbling. "And for now, me and you must walk different paths. Even if I still love you." Tamotsu said as he left.
