Personality: Shikaru has a very odd personality. He could be a kind and gentle person one second, and then could be a raving lunatic the next. This has been commented by his peers and teachers as odd, but unique. This is because of his split personality. His good and fun loving side is Shikaru Daiyamo, but he also has an evil side named "Raphael Mumochi". These two personalities were created to suppress and split his emotions. More on this in his history.
Shikaru's personality is one that he cares for everything around him and will only fight if he feels that either he is in trouble or those he cares for are. This is actually very common due to his other personality kicking in. Generally you will see him meditating or practicing using his Nekode.
However to every good side, there is an evil. In Shikaru's case, it is Raphael Mumochi. Raphael is a very dark character. He loves to fight and will pick a fight with anyone he deems worthy, which is most people because of his lust for blood. He will not hesitate to kill anyone or anything if he can. Raphael takes over whenever Shikaru is in severe, life threatening danger.

Description: A ninjutsu used to trap the opponent in the ground. The user must first get underground and directly below the target, after which they will pull the enemy into the ground so that only their head remains overground as they emerge on the surface. The collapsing ground will effectively block the victim's movement as they fall into the hole, so it will take them some time to escape, if they are able to on their own at all. This jutsu can be used to pull an opponent underground completely, but in that case a firm layer of earth or rock will not be created around the target's body and they will be able to escape much easier.

Background: Shikaru was born into a very poor family just outside Iwa. Growing up, he had immense hatred for those who would make fun of him for his poor status. The emotional torture got to the point to where he just couldn't stand it anymore. He split his personality into two separate beings, so his frail body could handle the pain. And when the emotional pain got to the point that one of the personalities couldn't take it, the other one would kick in. This was at age 6 when he did this. This would greatly effect him in school.
He entered the academy at age 7, just one year after he split his personality. When he entered the academy, he dealt with much the problems he did growing up. He would constantly get into fights, but never got suspended. He quickly excelled through his tests and graduated at age 8.
The following year he would get his signature weapon, the Nekode. He would start training and began to overcome his need for Raphael, but in a lot of situations, Raphael would leak out and kill his opponent with one slash.
At age 13 he entered his first Chunin exams. He made it through the test part of it with little to no problems. Then the second part of the exams came around and he was worried that given the pressure of the exams, Raphael would show his ugly head and kill a few people, friend or foe. He decided to enter the second part anyway.
He got halfway through the test and he was confronted by four ninja from another village. They teamed up on him, and Shikaru was able to use the replacement a couple of times before things got out of hand, and eventually it happened. Raphael took over and went into slaughter mode. Even after being hit with 10 kunai, he managed to defeat his opponents, although badly injured. He managed to complete the test as well, but was unable to move on to the third test due to his injuries.
After he recovered, he left the village to train and control Raphael and be able to use him at will. It has been 2 years and to this day, he hasn't been able to.
