Tsubaki and Tomu had traveled a long distance to come to the Land of the Shadows. The tiny ninja was stunned by how massive the darkness was over this country. He was amazed by the flora of the area and even more intrigued with the creatures of this area. He had seldom heard about this place and found it fascinating that he would have walked through here once in his life. He looked back at his lover and smiled as he pointed at the full moon. "It's wondrous." He said like a smile child as he walked along the dirt path and lit up countryside of the shadow country."I don't think I could ever live here but it's amazing how different this place is from Iwagakure, what do you think, Tomu?"

As they wandered through the bleak darkness, the field of glowing flowers attracted Tomu's lover's attention. A smile crept on his face as he bent down taking a closer look at the glowing plants looking at the translucent pigments surging through its flowers.

"If the skies weren't so dark, I could enjoy this place. An eternity of darkness seems so depressing..." He said placing his hand on a petal of a flower.

His attention than moved to the creatures that had congregated around them and he smiled softly. "

"Are there any cities close?"

Tsubaki nodded and then looked at Tomu. "The nearest village is the Shadow Village. It's said that the Shadow Village is home to many rare plants and animals. Their food is said to be exotic. However, because of the plant life here, it said you'd glow if you ate the food. The glow lasts few hours, enough to get you from here to the next village which is where we're headed." Tsubaki said as a small blood red bird landed on his shoulder and sang a sorrow-filled song and then flew off leaving the two behind. "Such a sad song but beautiful tone." Tsubaki said as he walked ahead towards the small lights in the distant.

"I'll glow?" He asked tilting his head to the side to get a view of him. There was a serious look on his face as he wrapped his arms around Baki's waist and asked softly, "Would you love me if I was glowing orange?"

A smile broadened on Tomu's face as he stole a kiss and released his arms from around him reaching his finger out to the bird who past him to land on Baki's shoulder.

"Oh... This is getting depressing!" Tomu laughed after the hearing the birds call.. "How is it going to find a mate like that?!"

He again traveled behind Baki noticing a few lights in the sky.. "UFO's?!"

Tsubaki smiled as he was held and then nodded. "I would love you if you glowed blue too." He laughed as the kiss made him smile as he looked back at the road ahead and walked. "Those birds find a mate by emitting a certain tone in their song during mating season. The tone then carried over to prospective mates and then they sing together. The males are said to have the lower tone of a song that belongs to a higher one. The female and male together make a song together. Essentially meaning they do have partners set by fate." Tsubaki smiled as he walked along the road.

"Aren't you knowledgeable? You know so much about this place... You must come here alot." Tomu's eyes still watched as the three lights grew close enough to be distinguished as butterflies. Their wings oscillated a rainbow of colors and a trail of light fluttered with each flap of their tiny wings. "Beautiful... Now these things are pixies. You know I used to have this weird fascination with pixies."

"I read a lot of books when I was a slave." Tsubaki said as he walked forward. His head flashed with memories he tried to suppress them. His mind shot with a searing pain of a headache. He fell to his knees and then grabbed his head. He grunted as he screamed out loud and then looked up. His mind seemed to settle the pain and then he looked up to Tomu with a half smile and stood up. "I'm sorry about that. I don't know what happened but I'm sure it won't happen again." He said as he walked forward pretending as if nothing happened at all.

"A slave?" Tomu asked watching Baki's reaction. In all, it was different. Plugging his ear, as the Baki screamed, he unplugged them as he returned back to his lovable self.

"Finished?" Tomu asked examing him.

"Don't play that shit with me... You said you were a slave.. what do you mean you were a slave?" Tomu asked hearing this for the first time and feeling concern for him. Even though it seemed to cause pain to Baki, Tomu didn't like the fact he was trying to ignore that it happened..

Tsubaki paused and then looked to the sky. "I was.... a slave as a child. I didn't have a mother or father until I found out about it much later. As a child I was raised by an orphanage but it was closed down when I was 5. From there I was told to make my own life and forced into servitude in order to live and get by. Sometimes, my masters were cruel and unforgiving. Making me do things considered unclean. Somehow, they would always die and I would end up moving on to the next one. Eventually, my brother came along but I didn't know he was my brother. He trained me and took care of me and I barely did any work till he revealed it to me." He said as he recalled all the events.

"When I was younger, my father and mother would deny I exist. They would stick books in my face and make me feel like shit.... I see why we make a good pair... We've both been through tough shit... But you know what... I am here for you! If you ever feel like talking something out, I'm here to listening and occasionally joke to lighten the situation... I love you, man!" Tomu said placing his hand on Baki's back... "So, don't be afraid to tell me stuff.."
