Gedo made his way to yet another closed in lake near the coast and sighed. He placed with the water in his hands and then froze it once more. As the lake froze he looked up ahead and then began making it snow. ~Am I really that different?~ He walked on the icy surface and then began making a whole tree forest of ice. He finally ended by making ice flowers and sat dawn in the center of his Ice forest. HE watched as birds flew in and sat on the icy branches. The Winter Cardinal mad him smile as he knew it wouldn't judge him since both of them were outsiders. ~Maybe people don't accept me because of my power.~

Ironically, it was as if a dim mist hung over Masaki's vision as he was led by soft footprints. He simply followed the snow, the cooled breeze, so oddly placed, soft and endearing, he followed his feet enigmatically.

His reward was a fantasy. A dream place, bright white and pure. Trees of all shapes and sizes, purest white, vulnerable and graceful, flowers, clear as lillies fell scattered about the place.

A lone silhouette, almost floating in the trees looked as if he was deep in thought. Masaki was instantly drawn towards him.

Sidling up to his left, he took a deep, wavering breath and spoke up to him.

"Umm, hi there. Thank you for...earlier."

Gedo slowly looked to the person who had joined him and then stood up and made a wall of ice separate them. He looked away and closed his eyes. He took a breath and then looked at the ice and pretended to speak to his reflection. "It.... was nothing." His voice was smooth unlike the way he seemed to act. It was one filled with fear and innocence. "I'm.... Gedo." He said as he looked down and picked up an ice flower in his hands and then looked it over. "Who.... are.... you?" He said shyly as he tried not to look past the Ice wall before him.

"Gahhh!"

The frozen wall appeared suddenly taking Masaki off guard. Composing himself, and slightly hurt at the imposed distance the boy created, he took care in his actions.

"It.... was nothing."

Guilt and disappointment washed over him. Perhaps he'd had the wrong idea? He seemed so reserved and timid.

"I'm.... Gedo." His voice was soft, touched gently by adolescence and Masaki drifted to it.

"It's nice to meet you Gedo." His chest suddenly felt heavy.

"Who.... are.... you?"

Masaki chuckled playfully. A simple yet neccessary question, but put so quietly...His smile moved into his voice for a moment.

"My name is Masaki."

Gedo looked at the mirror and then took a deep breath as each of his questions were answered. As he got more nervous the snow began to slowly slow down to a light cover. He looked at the trees which sparkled and then gulped. "Are.... you... cold?" He asked as he looked down at the snow which was now about several inches on the lake surface. "I... can make.... the snow stop." He said looking at one of the ice flowers and then brought his arms together as if to cradle himself. "Why.... are you... here?"

There was a moment of silence, the snow falling softly about him. His heart was beating slightly off beat, full of excitment and the introduction of something new to his psyche.

"Are.... you... cold?" His voice came calmly, "I... can make.... the snow stop."

Masaki brightened, smiling widely.

"It's okay, I kind of like the snow..." Masaki trailed off, turning and leaning against the wall, back to Gedo. There was a short pause, the sound of the snow falling set a calm atmosphere.

"Why.... are you... here?" This time Masaki was caught. Why was he there? Did he even know?

"Oh well umm, I guess it's just that I wanted to say thanks and err...yeah...thanks."

Gedo walked up to the wall of ice and then leaned against it. He nodded as the person continued to speak and responded to him. He looked at the flower on the floor below and then picked it up off the floor and then looked at it. "You... didn't have to." He said sweetly and shyly. He slowly peeled off one of the ice petals and then looked at the sun trying to shine. He quickly made the sky snow more and then looked at the wall and then saw that the ninja was there leaning against the wall of ice. HE made his hand go through the ice and then handed the ninja the flower he was holding. "It's.... an ice.... rose."

"You... didn't have to." Masaki simply replied by laughing softly.

"Don't mention it."

The sky suddenly filled with more snow. gleaming gently by the softened sun. It was truly beautiful, so serene in a place where confilct was rising. That made him feel quite ashamed. He couldn't do anything yet. He wasn't strong enough yet.

Just as he felt sadness touch his heart, a flower, the boy holding it tenderly floated through the wall. As Masaki took it, their skin brushed lightly, sending an exhilirating jolt through him. To say the least, the sadness was blown away.

"It's.... an ice.... rose."

"It's...beautiful...did you make it?" It was so intricately formed, perfect in its own right, smooth and cool. Everything was pisturesque, right down to Masaki's smile.

"I.... made it." He said as the wall shattered and the ice fell down like beautiful ice crystals as Gedo stood there looking at the ninja on the other side. He felt his heart racing as he looked at the ninja and then looked away. "I... can make it snow in July." He said as he waved his hand slightly and the snow continued to fall lightly around them. "I control.... water and wind." HE said sadly. "I.... am a.... demon." He said sadly as he held himself, his tears coming from his eyes, freezing instantly. "An.... outcast."

"Hey-hey, its okay. Don't cry." He walked closer to Gedo, smiling softly. What was driving him? He suddenly felt so overwhelmed by the urge to comfort him, his hand lifting to touch his arm, but fell before he had a chance to. He really didn't know what to do at that point.

"A demon wouldn't have created such serenity. I don' t think your a demon Gedo, I think your a very nice...person." Feeling that his comforting lacked a certain something, he thought he would encourage him.

"May I keep this?" He held the rose up towards Gedo.
