Cheza didn't know what to think. After all, she had left the man behind by the shore, to do whatever he wanted to do. She didn't know if he followed her or not, but that wasn't important. She looked to her Emigre and smiled at the wolf, thinking back to the time they were away, but really didn't find anything. Toboe was just staring ahead, as if something was bothering him.

Toboe... do you remember when we first set out? When we had only a vague idea as what to do? Cheza asked the wolf, to which she got a nod back. Feeling compelled to continue, she spoke quickly, eagerly, but still clearly and melodically, We had no idea as to where to go, or if we were going to survive. At that time, you were the one that was scared to go, and now look at you! You're even more of a fighter than I am... or ever was. Toboe shook his head. "And you speak more than you ever did... I wonder what changed that..." Cheza looked down to the wolf and smiled. You did, Toboe... I mean, before I found you... I was basically the one who never spoke or was spoken to. I was the needle in the haystack, never really into much, and never really thought of as "approachable" I guess is the right word, since I never seem to be socially interactive.

Toboe nodded his understanding. Yeah... and being with you has awakened me. At first, I didn't know what to think of myself, and if I was going to be any good. After all, the pack I was with before didn't last.. and I was the only survivor. We were trying to find our Paradise... and I think I've now found it." Cheza looked at the wolf, who was staring at her with his unblinking eyes. "I think I've found it in you. You're the Paradise we were searching for." Cheza stopped, shocked by what the wolf had just admitted. "Not in that way, Cheza. There's two main things from stopping that- I'm only a human in one form, and I'm an Emigre- not even a real creature."

Cheza shook her head. Not true, Toboe. You're an excellent wolf, and an even better human than most human's I've seen or met... Toboe smiled at Cheza, and kept on walking, Cheza in tow. "Remember our first meeting?" the wolf inquired suddenly. Yeah, I do... how could I forget it?

The sun was shining that day, and a smaller version of the current-day Cheza was walking through the streets, having just graduated. She was watching the ground, as she did most days, and found a peculiar item on her path to her house. She knew nobody else walked this path, so it seemed like it was left just for her. Curious, she picked it up and touched one of the buttons on the strange device. Suddenly, a white light appeared, and in the next instant, a smaller wolf with bright rust-coloured fur appeared and shook his body. "Who're you...?" the wolf asked, though his mouth did not move. Cheza came the simple reply. The wolf had his ears pinned down to his skull, but those simple words relaxed him. "Cheza huh...? I'm Toboe. Nice to meet you..." However, even as he spoke, Cheza noticed something in the distance. It was a hunter, apparently thinking that this wolf was wild, and about to hurt Cheza. NO! Cheza cried, and pushed Toboe out of the way as soon as the hunter shot his arrow at them, his practice making the arrow move fasat and lethally if it hit such a spot. The shot missed the wolf, but hit Cheza on the opposite side of her chest from her heart. Toboe shook visibly, and the hunter widened his eyes and ran, not wanting to get into trouble for shooting a Kunoichi, since it was just then that he noticed the female wearing an Iwagakure headband. Toboe dragged the female to the hospital, where the nurses quickly patched her up. They didn't know the wolf could talk, and he made no notion of wanting that fact to be known. They let the wolf stay, but it had to be outside for the most part, until they let him into check on Cheza. The nurse helping him spoke to him as if he were a human, most likely for her compassion for animal love. "She'll survive. Thankfully, it looked worse than it was. The arrow miracuously went clean through, so there's not going to be any pain from removing it. The wound had no infection, so that made it easier as well. Thankfully you got her here in time, or it would have been too late." The nurse didn't expect the wolf to understand, but then she saw it nod as if it understood her words. The nurse left the wolf in her room, deeming it not a threat. When Cheza woke up, she saw the wolf, and smiled. The two were never seen apart after that."

Cheza smiled at the wolf with renewed appreciation. I never said this, but thank you for helping me to the hospital, Toboe. Toboe shook his head and gave her another, knowing smile. "More than me, you should be recieving thanks from me. Especially since you save me from that arrow." She shook her head. "I should've handled it better, so I wouldn't have gotten hit either and needed you to drag me there." "Don't worry about it. After all, we were even at that point." Cheza nodded and continued her walk down the path.

Izaku hung a little ways back on the path, trying to sort out a few things in his head. With the departure of the other inhabidents of his mind, the constant flickering of his eyes had siesed, leaving them a constant blue-green color. He had determined that the attacks on the villages had distrupted the flow of the universe; the massive death tole from the different countries was adding up. Weither or not this had anything to do with his current state, he could not be sure. The fact was that he was suddenly given a freedom that he had never knew before and it had left him at a lose of what to do. What was one supposed to do with freedom when they were granted it? Something that is often overlooked in the pursuit of it.

So, with nothing else that he could think of, Izaku silently followed behind Cheza and her emigre. His eyes blankly stared off into the distance, not truly paying attention to where he was going. In his silent questioning, the same thoughts were kept at the back of his mind, repeating over and over again. What do I do...

OoC: Heheh. Seems Rank training's getting harder to do. I did about the same amount for Veli and got all my points at once. >.< In my rank trains, I don't like fighting. I like building character.

IC:
Cheza smiled to the wolf, noticing the other man's presence. You know... You remember that time when we were gone.. .in that village? Toboe tilited his head and stopped. "Which one?" he asked, and Cheza responded, "That one that was in the middle of the forest, near a cliff?" "Yeah, I remember that." the wolf announced.

Cheza and Toboe were walking down a path, and spotting a small community, that surrounded itself with spear-like log fences. She gaped at the pillars, and when she approached the gates, some guards stopped her- or more specifically, the wolf.

"You there! You can't bring that animal into this village!" Cheza was taken aback, and responded (maybe not in the nicest of tones) He's my loyal companion; why can't I bring him in? The guards took a step back from her open hostility to their remark. "S-sorry ma'am... it's just that we've had this town surrounded by animals that didn't behave at all like animals... Almost like they were being possessed." To this revelation, she gasped. She was a nature lover; that much was undisputed. She loved animals, especially wolves, so much that many wondered if she really was an Inuzuka. She looked to the forest, and one of the guards caught her look. "You may be a Kunoichi judging from your headband, but it will be too dangerous, especially if you have an animal companion." Cheza shook her head and put the headband into a pocket. "I'm not one right now." she stated before walking off into the underbrush.

Toboe rushed after her, and pulled on her pants leg. "Maybe we should listen to him..." the wolf whined quietly. Not when animals are being hurt. What if any of your brothers or sisters are involved? What would you think then? Cheza hotly replied. Even Toboe cowered under her gaze. "S-sorry..." he said, and turned back to the woods. Cheza walked along the path for some time, before hearing some kind of melody come from the woods. Toboe's perked ears told her that he heard it too. It sounded like it was caling them towards it, so Cheza thought that it might have something to do with these animal rampages.

Traveling off the beaten path, they arrived at a glade, and saw a single wood stump in the middle of it, with a rather small boy playing what appeared to be a flute. As Cheza approached, the boy looked at her, and at first, his eyes widened, but then he calmed down, saying "You must be special to hear my song. I don't have anything to worry from you." The voice was rather childish as well, but held a spiritual capacity to it. Toboe looked at the boy, and he stared back. Finally, Toboe broke the silence. "So... are you behind the animal rampages?" Toboe asked, cutting straight to the point. "That flute mesmerized us, so it's possible." The boy shook his head. "NO! I would never have animals attack something else, not even a human being... if it's because of me, it must be a side effect of the music! I didn't do anything!"

Cheza sighed. I'm not saying you're at fault. But could you go farther into the forest so that the humans nearby don't have any trouble from teh side effects? The boy nodded. "After all... I like the woods. Thanks, you two." With a bow, the boy disappeared into the woods, like a phantom would into the night. Satisfied, Cheza and Toboe walked back to the village, and told the leader of what happened. He was so happy that he pointed out the way to get to the next city.

As they walked in the forest towards the next city, both Cheza and Toboe could have sworn that they heard the childish voice from that boy earlier say "Come play with me sometime... the Forest can be a lonely place." Knowing he'd see, she nodded her head. The elder told them what it was- a forest sprite, lonely from isolation... To see it, one must be greatly in tune with nature, which explained its loneliness. Their words relieved it... and made it aware of what it was doing, inadvertantly...

Cheza nodded. Now I want to see that boy again... "Yes... me too." Turning to the man behind them, which Toboe had called "Spectre," Cheza asked, Care to share any of your history...?

Izaku's mind reeled with so many different thoughts that had not entered his head in a long time. With the others silenced, the memories that welled up inside of him seemed to be compensating. Nothing that popped into his mind took place more than 3 years earlier, everything past that point was blank. Silent reality, Everwill, Kishi, Skye, Dark, all the people who had ever called an ally. It stunned him to think that he only knew the location of one of his "friends", who was all the way back in kiri. Another thing that shocked him was that he did not know when or how he came by his unusual weapon, It had always just seemed to be with him... shattering and reforming as he willed it... not unlike his consciousness.

He looked up, realizing that Cheza was addressing him. His eyes refocused as he tried to think of a proper response to the question. my... history?... He let out a short sigh. "My history is a very dangerous topic... I'm not too proud of it... I suppose i should probably begin by letting you know the name of the spectre...Izaku." He was unsure what was guiding his speech, but the words simply seemed to flow out without much thought. "I have traveled to all the reaches of the world in my wanderings... My wrathful soul has been the bane of many, and i have commited terrible evils... In atonement, i have been cursed to wander for eternity, doing the bidding of the will of the universe...To assist the lost souls of others, and to bear witness to the suffering of the world." His own words stung him, bringing up the horrible memories of the tragedies that he had witnessed in the past few years. His soul writhed in pain at the thought of all the people that he had been forced to kill in his search of purpose. "I would not blame you... if you shunned my spirit like so many others."

Cheza listened to the man's tale without interrupting, though her eyes seemed to start tearing up. Toboe remained outwardly impassive, but he, too, was feeling for this man. She didn't know what to say to him, so she said, I won't shun you. I don't shun people because of their past. I judge people on their character. If they've learned from the past and won't repeat it, why exile them because of their past? His speech reminded her of another time in her travels...

A young Cheza with a young Toboe were walking through the markets of Iwagakure. She was still fairly new to being a Kunoichi, and didn't have much experience. However, she heard a cry from a side alley, and rushed in to help them. However, when she arrived, what she saw surprsised her. She saw a man clutching a bloody kunai, and a cut on his wrist. He saw the man's Iwagakure headband, and gasped. When she did so, the man turned towards her wildly and started to charge her. However, Toboe stepped in front of the man, baring his young teeth. The man stopped for a moment, before charging again. That's when Cheza found her voice and spoke, Wait! Stop!

To her astonishment, the man stopped and looked at her quizically, as she had tears on her face. What compels you..? she asked simply, and the man understood what she meant. "I'm a failure as a Shinobi. I've done too many terrible deeds. I need to recieve punishment due to my crimes... but nobody will.. why is that...? Because of that, I need to bring the pain and suffering I've brought to others onto myself..." As he raised the kunai again, this time aiming for his heart, Cheza caught it before he could stab it through. I don't know what you mean... but surely, if they have forgiven you, is it really your fault? If they've forgiven you, then why don't you forgive yourself...? The man's eyes welled up as he looked into her compassionate eyes. The wolf stayed back, letting Cheza handle this- after all, she was doing a decent job so far.

"Why should I have the right to live, when-" he began, but Cheza interupted him. Because you can atone for your sins in this life. Ending your life because of the past only causes more sadness, and it only causes more blood to taint the Earth. Please, I beg of you... don't do it! His hand shaking, he let go of the kunai, and it clattered to the ground. Cheza smiled at him, and he smiled weakly back. "Thank you, miss..." the man spoke quietly to her, before wrapping himself in a bandage and walking out of the alleyway.

Toboe trotted up to Cheza at that point and smiled. "You handled that better than I would have expected..." Cheza shook her head and stared after the guy that she just met...

Toboe seemed to be reading her mind, as he nodded when she caught his eye. Like I said... I will not shun you for your past. And if you've suffered a fate that makes up for it... who am I to add to your suffering?" she asked the man. "And besides, there's too much suffering already... and too much pain. Especially right at this moment.. this world doesn't need anymore pain and suffering..."

Izaku glanced up, as though the kunoichi's words set him a bit at ease. A small grin appeared on his face, though he quickly hid it. "....Thank you." The missing-nin picked up his pace a bit so that he could catch up with Cheza and Toboe. He was soon only a few strides behind them, rather than hanging back several feet. In his state of mental chaos, these two seemed to ease his mind. A sudden impulse made Izaku take out his blades and focus his energy into them. The duplicate blade shattered into the hundreds of tiny shards which spiraled around Hyoumenkaken, reattaching to the main mass. The copy had soon vanished and the main blade had returned to nearly its full size. He could feel a rush of chakra returning to him from the bonds that had held togather the copy blade and let out another sigh. He put the blade back it its place and looked back up at his companions. He realized that he didn't know either of thier names yet and decided to ask. "I have told you my name, now what are yours?"

Cheza caught his smile, and had to smile to it. "Ah, so the cold Spectre can smile." the wolf teased him, using the nickname that he had given to him earlier. Cheza watched him disentagrate his sword, and reattach it to the other one. She didn't know what to think of that, but she didnt' say anything yet. "My name is Cheza, and that wolf there is Toboe." The wolf grinned, and said, "Hey, do it, Cheza!" Cheza nodded, smiling at what the wolf wanted her to do. "Toboe! Set, transform! She didn't know what it was really called, but she figured that was good enough. A white light surrounded the Emigre, and after a few seconds, the wolf transformed into a human form. It looked almost like the wolf, with the hair colour resembling the pelt of the wolf, the eyes being the same colour, and the bracelet on the wolve's front right leg was now on his right arm. "See? Heheh. I don't know why I did this, but I guess it was so I can see if you'd be shocked by it." Even if Izaku knew about Emigre, he might not have forseen such a drastic change.

The scene in Cheza's mind changes to a year ago, the most recent memory yet. She found another user like her, and she said that these things were called Emigre, and they "Emivolved" or something like that. Cheza looked on as the female did it first, and then Cheza copied her, the female changing instead of the wolf that time. She had a good spar... but she severely missed the female. They had only met for a short time before they got sperated, and then she hadn't seen her until the Cataclysm... and then, only for a few moments.

Cheza glanced at the wolf and nodded, who nodded back. She cancelled the wolf's transformation, the white light taking the wolf back to his former self. Then Cheza said, Emivolve! without specifying who. Then Cheza was the one covered in a white light, and when it receeded, a black wolf remained, a white, Japenese kanji on her front left leg, near the joint. Cheza had changed more dramatically than the wolf had; was it really her?

It's still me.. if you're wondering, the Cheza wolf spoke to Izaku, in much the same manner (without moving the jaws). She wondered what he'd think to her doing this, but she hoped he wouldn't freak out too badly. She didn't want to die, after all.
