Izaku grunted as he tried to regain his footing. He pulled on both his broadsword and Syra's arm until he had marginally regained his footing. He ripped his blade out of the ground with an upward slash at Her just as her water bullet dove into his chest. His dagger flew from his hand, soaring through the air until it came to rest with its blade stuck in the ground about 10 feet away. The force of the attack threw him onto his back, but he was quick to recover. He kicked himself up to his feet, a small hole in his shirt revealing an armor plate on his chest. Acting on impulse, he pulled three kunai from his weapon pouch and threw them toward the kunoichi.

Syra's hand flitted sideways and at the moment of the kunai strikes caught them. With precise timing, she flicked her wrist and sent them haphazardly in the opposite direction. The tosses were not well-aimed though, and would surely miss their mark. The real danger was Syra herself. She ran forward, gathering chakra in her arms. At the moment of standing in front of him, she lunged and used her momentum to cross slash and slide beside him.

Izaku let out a short growl at the fuetility of his attack, although he didn't let it occupy him for long. Realizing that he needed to defend himself, he put his broadsword in a defensive possition in front of him. His steel met with her claws once again and he shoved foward with all of his might in an attempt to knock her over.

Her attacks failed; she needed to get that broadsword away from him. She continued with her momentum, rolling to the side of his leg. She reached out while rolling and used her tekagi to try and slash his leg along the way. Once she was finished rolling, she would be standing right behind him, ready to strike once more.

As he was dragged sideways by his broadsword, which was still in contact with the claws, he was forced to follow Syra's movements. When she attempted to slash at his leg, She made contact with his shin plate and the edges of the claw caught the metal, tearing it from its straps. He pushed forward at her again , this time trying to shoulder tackle her with his armored shoulder. With the fight continuing, they began to stray, moving ever slowly toward Izaku's dagger. The thought of the other compeditors crossed his mind in the midst of battle, he had yet to see another soul on the island besides his current opponent.
