Letting out a heavy sigh, Mizuken felt the need to perform the technique for a final time. This time he channel all of his chakra that he could into his fist and then began to mold it. He felt that as he molded it, it would seem the boost (150%) was more intense than any of his previous attempts. It also felt as if his hand could pierce through seemingly anything. It was the most powerful thing he had ever felt in his life and now, he was going to use it to destroy this tree.
Raising his hand up, Mizuken pulled back and violently struck the tree in a frustrated manner. The sheer power of the strike was enough to dent the tree to the point of where the center was within sight. The only downside was that the technique didn't destroy the tree and that it left Mizuken seemingly chakraless. Sighing heavily from this defeat, Mizuken decided it would be best to return home to rest.

Description: A skill that every self-respecting shinobi must have. It is based on concentrating chakra to the soles of one's feet and using it to stick to objects, which would allow one to walk on vertical surfaces and even upside down. This is also often used as chakra control training, since the soles of the feet are said to be the hardest place to control your chakra.

IC: After a few weeks of being away from his training area and being around the Academy, he decided to freshen up on his more basic skills. Of these skills he decided he would like to work on Kinobori no Waza. It was a simple technique that would help him climb solid surfaces such as trees and walls. It would even help him walk on ceilings if he pleased. He looked around his training area for a tree that could be used to help him use this technique efficiently. He saw a tree that was a good 20-25 feet tall and decided he would make that his training tree. Standing at the base of the tree, Mizuken looked up while removing a kunai from his pocket. he knew that since its been so long, he may not get it on the first try and the kuani would surely help him cling to the tree if he slipped.
Mizuken began to channel the chakra to his feet and began his climb up the tree. After he walked about 9-10 feet up the tree, he felt his feet losing grip. Within seconds, he lost all control and it was then he threw the kunai into the tree and hung for a moment. He couldn't believe it. He didn't evenb make it half way up the tree and he was already slipping.
"Pitiful", he thought to himself as he slid down the tree to start over again.
Mizuken channeled more chakra into his feet and began his climb once more. As he climbed up the tree, he thought to himself about how he would look among his peers at the Chuunin Exam if he couldn't use this such simple technique. The thought of their expression was killing him. How could he be able to graduate from the Academy of the Bloody Mist and not be able to climb trees. As he thought of this, Mizuken began to climb up the tree and reached a good 15-17 feet up from the ground. It was here he messed up.
Losing his train of thought, Mizuken stopped circultating chakra through his feet and began to slip. Throwing the kuani into the tree once more, Mizuken thought he was saved from falling. However, this was not the case and Mizuken feel from the tree with the kunai still stuck into the side of the tree. Laying on the ground and looking up at the kunai, Mizuekn cursed silently to himself on hsi failure of the simple technique.
Slightly angry as himself, Mizuken channeled the chakra through to his feet and he began to run up the side of the tree. He grabbed his kunai and continued to walk from there. He was still a bit upset that he had fell from the tree twice, but knew this time he woudl get it. He did. He reached the top of the tree and stared out over his training area. The Village wall was in clear sight, but then the most unexpected thing happened. The branch broke.
As Mizuken feel, he couldn't believe it. he had mastered the technique, but now it wouldn't matter for the simple fact he was going to break his legs after hitting the ground so hard, but once again he was saved. "Splash". Mizuken managed to land inside of a stream and he was actually a bit happy that not only did he learn a new technique, but it would lead him to learning another technique as he was in the water.

Description: A more advanced technique than Kinobori, it allows one to walk on water or other similar liquid or amorphous objects. It is used in a similar fashion to its predecessor, but the shinobi must also release a constant flow of chakra into the water to keep themselves on its surface. It is often used as advanced chakra control training, since it takes the same basic concept as tree climbing technique and kicks it up a notch.

IC: Mizuken managed to swim across the stream onto the bank. Pulling himself out and looking out onto the stream, Mizuken wanted to see if he could do like the other more advanced Shinobis could do. They could walk on water and he knew that after learning how to walk on trees then walking on water shouldn't be too much harder.
Standing up, Mizuken began to channel chakra to his feet. He then took two steps onto the water and he went right through the water. He quickly resurfaced and swam back to shore. Pulling himself out again, he said softly to himself.
Mizuken stood up on the bank of the stream and began to channel chakra through his feet once more. It was clear to him now that just releasing chakra into his feet wasn't going to keep him afloat. instead, he was going to have to do something else. Putting his first foot forward, Mizuken tested his idea and stepped onto the water. his foot was afloat on top of the water. A smirk came across his face and he let his other foot follow behind the first. When he went to move the first foot again, he began to let the same amount of chakra continue to flow. He was still not sinking. The idea was working, but it soon failed before he could move his second foot to met the first and so he fell below the surface once again.
Mizuken was excited with his discovery of how the technique was supposed to work and he quickly swam to the bank and got out. Without a second thought, Mizuken was back on the water taking a few steps and then falling in. Each time he woudl do this, he would get a little farther, but it still wasn't as steady as it was supposed to be. After falling into the water a good 30 somethign times, Mizuken just sat stared into the water and thought to himself. He began to doubt his abilities, but then he began to think of the young boy at the Academy that he had helped.
How was he going to tell someone else not to down their abilities, when he was downing his own. Wiping the look of frustration off of his face, Mizuken returned to the stream with a little bit more of determination to learn the technique.
After falling into the water another 4-5 times, Mizuken began to better understand how the technique worked. He was begining to walk up and down the stream. At first it was shaky, but after a few minutes of walking like that, he grew confident and was walking steadily. It was an awsome feeling, to know that he could manipulate his chakre to the point he could walk on water. A small smirk came across hsi face as he thought of his accomplishment. It was true that most Genin learned how to climb trees, but how many of them could walk on water. From what he could remember, not many. In his opinion, even though he had learned the basics of the technique, he would stay to perfect it. As he began to think more, he lost concentration and fell below the surface.
Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours. Mizuken was going strong and hard as he continued to try to perfect the technique. He knew that he could walk on the water if he thought about it, but as the time began to pass, he was able to walk and do other things. To prove this to himself, he would perform simple movements such as jumping up and down and not falling below the surface and moving up to more advance stuff. These thigns ranged from simple Ninjutsus like making clones to his more advanced Taijutsu techniques of the Rakanken Ryuu (Achiever of Nirvana Fist Style).
As the sun officially set, Mizuken felt he was done and that he training session was successful. He had mastered the technique Suimen Hokou no Waza (Act of Water Surface Walking). With this new technique in hand, Mizuken left from his training area to return back to his home in the Village.
