Having been hunched overlooking the rat, he straightened up pondering his actions. Slowly, he formulated a hypothesis to why this had occurred. Maybe, it was because he had not set the scene. Genjutsus also take a bit of imagination and he had not applied much thought to what he wanted the rat to see, feel, and hear. Resting his eyes on the rat’s neck, he grinned excitedly with a plan to correct his error. Taking a shallow breath, he again jumped right into forming this jutsu. Inserting his chakra into the rats streams, the rat began fidgeting as Masakado enacted the genjutsu a second time.

The rat began to feel cold ice water creeping up its chest. The rat danced trying to run away from this feeling but then as if it had breathed in water it began coughing trying to catch its breath. Masakado held his seal watching carefully as the rat began rolling on the ground trying to swim or work the water out its lungs but than it lost all the ability to breath. It flopping its tail and then as Masakado stood the rat died. He tried this jutsu again on a pigeon and the same thing occurred; however, it managed to escape. Masakado grinned knowing he’d put less chakra into that one than the previous one and laughed gaining a new jutsu.
