Running never seemed like the answer when he first began his trek. However, when you look much different then a normal human, people tend to forget that you have emotions and aspirations. Enter Loki, only 16 and forced into a slave's life early in his life. His parents died young so he wasn't raised conventionally. If, being a Nekojin was conventional. The path before him was an arduous one. A tough one indeed. Since Kirigakure's political outlook was bleak if visible at best, he decided that he would escape during the regime change that took place. But his attempt almost failed as he was caught by several ninjas leaving. Now, several Kilometers from his former home, he walked the path towards the Tea Country.

Behind him was a long chain that clinked and clanked a bit as he took each step. If one followed the chain from it's floor base, they would see it trail all the way up to a collar on his neck. A bandage remained on his face covering a scar he had. A toothpick resided within his mouth for no reason, other then to chew. He sighed as he looked at the trees swaying. The birds sang softly as they flew from the tree tops into the cloudless sky. He closed his eyes when he passed over the burning gas ball known as the sun. When he opened them next, the residue from the light remained in a ball shape in his eyes. He smiled.

"I'm free...."

He fell to the floor and rolled onto his back and looked up at the sky as the sun shone through the canopies of the tree, making beautiful rays of sunlight hit his skin. His eyes began to water as he held on to his chain and then released the tears from his eyes. "Master...." He said as he thought back to a young gentlemen with a soft smile who took care of him. "... what should I do now?" He asked as the wind blew softly and kissed his forehead.

~The path of life is never ending. One must take a step forward and venture into the unknown with a strong heart and soul. Without these things, one would fade away without something worthwhile. Remember, I am always here. It is you who must chose to accept me or not.~

Loki looked up to the sky and nodded. "I remember now.... Hayate-sama." He said as he stood up and continued walking through the forest path towards the Tea Village.

Loki walked down the path as he finally began to come to a clearing. However, he felt far too exposed out in the middle of the clearing. He then dug into his side pocket and pulled out a scroll that was named "Hayate's Water Scroll". He opened it slowly and then moved it so that he could read the intricate web of wording. He found a jutsu that would help him mask an area like this if he needed to proceed without being followed so easily. He slowly replicated the worded seals and then spoke. "Kirigakure no Jutsu." He said as the area around him began to gray a bit but the gray filtered away and he sighed softly. Clearly he needed to do more.

Loki reread the scroll and noticed that he missed on seal which accounted for the weakening power of the mist. He closed his eyes and then mentally recreated the string of seals. He opened his eyes and then began to do the seals he mental projected to himself as he then took a step forward and spoke. "Kirigakure no Jutsu!" He said as the area around him began to turn gray quickly and a bit of cold began to settle. The sun seemed to slowly begin to be blocked out but before it would stay around for an extended period of time, it dispersed quickly. Loki looked around softly and put his hands on his hips. He was upset that his training wasn't complete but did get close to completion. He would just need to focus a slight bit more.

Loki took a moment to rest on the floor while his tail grabbed some nearby flowers and then brought them to his hands. He held them and then smelled them as he sighed softly. Apparently freedom was not as free as he wanted. But he was still happy that he could be free. Though he longed to be of service to someone, he figured he would do a service to his former master by learning what he could of his techniques. He stood up and then began doing hand seals and then spoke. "Kirigakure no Jutsu!" He said as the sky turned gray and mist began to rise from the floor and cover the area. It was thick and made it hard to see more then a few inches before you. The sun was completely blocked off and Loki smiled. He had completed the first of many jutsus he would need to live.

Tai had been watching the catman for a little. He smiled as he walked forward through the mist and to the cat man. Perhaps this is where the wind wanted me to go... but, why? What does this person have to do with any of what was going on? Why did Tai feel as if he absolutely needed to talk to him? Tai smiled and spoke through the mist."Um.. hi... my name is Tai Niju. um.... please tell me... what exactly are you doing here in the kiri? I know it's a bit random but, I feel as if I need to know." Tai tried to seem as friendly as possible. He didn't want to seem dangerous at the moment.

Loki jumped as he heard Tai's voice and stood defensively with his long chain poised for attack. He then heard how soft his voice was and lessened his guard. "Are you a spy for the ANBU?" He asked as he looked Tai over. His tail was swinging from left to right and he then sighed. "You couldn't be. If you were you'd have killed me already." He said as he looked away. "I escaped from Kiri not that long ago. I was tired of the evil all around it. Plus my last contract with m previous master went awry when he was killed. So I escaped but haven't thought of where to go or what to do. Let alone find a master who will care for me." He said solemnly.

Tai's eyes opened wide as he heard Loki's story. He was appaled at what he had just heard. "Loki.... you were slave of some sort? What the hell has the Kiri come to? Please Loki... come with me. I wish to make a sanctuary so that people who do not wish to be stuck in places like this will be free. Loki... if you join me.. Not only will you be free but, you will be protected. The Anbu of Kiri will not dare attempt to attack one of their ex-mizukage especcialy after a few of the stories I've heard of the new kage isn't so great. Loki... you do not need a master to take care of you. If you really need someone... I will do it but, I am not you're master. You are as free as the wind or water."

Loki looked away. While the offer was good and tempting, it wasn't something he was used to. He was born into servitude and knew only that. He held his chain to him and then looked at Tai almost with hope. "I'd like that. But I can't." He said as he turned away from him and felt the mist settling about them. "I can only join someone who signs my contract and takes me into their service." Loki lifted his shirt and revealed his chest to have a seal on it. "My first master made it so that the cycle will always continue. If I join anyone on my own free will, I begin to get sick and eventually die." He said looking away. "One of my previous masters, tried to find a way to break the seal. He cared about me and wanted me to have free will to choose my own path. He eliminated most of the seal but I still can't join someone without a contract."

Tai frowned as he listened to Loki. "Loki... so... you must always be in servitude? I have a idea. I will sign the contract and I will find a way to break it. One day. If I sign it... I don't want to be called Master. I am your equal. Not your better. I will sign it only if you believe it will help you. I want no hrm to come to you because of me. Though.... I should warn you... being around me is..... dangerous. Alot of people are trying to hurt me because of what I'm going to do and what I have done. I'm sure they will try something soon but, I'm not entrely sure."

Loki looked at Tai and nodded but he felt odd. He slowly pulled out a scroll and opened it. Inside the scroll were 23 names of different people. Loki did not bother looking at the list and cringed. "If you sign, I'll be bound to you until you die or release me." He said as he looked at Tai for a moment, his eyes gave a small twinkle of hope and then looked down. "Will you...." He covered his arms. "... use my body?" He said almost innocent. IT was as if he implied that in the past that he was sexually used. Despite his rough look, Loki was deep down inside a softy who just wanted a simple life that was denied him.
