Squirrels? Did Hideo just suggest that they go out, and subdue a cute little creature for a medical ninjutsu practice, sure the fish seemed typical, and boring, but really a squirrel that is just inhuman. At least that is what most people would think, but Mei is not most people, and bit of a grin appeared on her face when the just the thought of killing came to her mind, but wait why would she need to kill them? After all that is pushing it a bit when meeting someone new, since Mei began to doubt after looking at her that she would appreciate mauled tiny squirrel corpses, in front of her. Wait a minute she was going to practice some medical techniques right? And what is better practice than a diseased creature?
With her innocent façade still up Mei spoke again. I suppose we could help you find some, since what are fellow Kumo nin for if not to help each other out? Mei stated with a light smile, and a bit of a glare at Hideo. So do you guys have any idea where exactly they might be located? I suppose we could search for some, but it would be easier if anyone had a clue to begin with. Quickly flashing a glare over at Hideo before turning giving a soft look at CIelle. So since Hideo over there thought of going after squirrels, why not let him track them down, and I suppose I could scan for a river nearby? _________________

'Eat....squirrels?' almost the moment it was suggested Cielle paled visibly. Those poor, cute, fuzzy little guys who were always spazzing about and hiding acorns and various kinds of nuts? Putting aside the fact they had little meat, the very idea of even carving one up made her...well, nearly lose what was left of her breakfast. "NO, NO! Its fine its fine! No squirrels, there's a river just a bit down the mountain side here, depending which direction you came from, and should have some fish swimming about as its getting close to spawning season. In the meantime I'll just practice on myself!" Yes, that was much, much more preferable to harming Mother Nature's little spazzy comedians. Besides, considering one of her other scrolls, it'd give her incentive to learn that technique all the better and faster.
Although to do such a thing would likely leave her prone...as the safest limbs she could think to practice on were her own legs...and yet, that didn't fully appeal to her either. Nothing to cut the pain. Plus there was still the fact that she needed to study the body further before even attempting such, lest she cut something important and ended her studies permanently. Maybe she'd practice on something as simple as leaves first, cut them visibly before practicing on something with more substance and depth? Yeah, "On second thought maybe I'll practice on leaves first and then fish. Make sure I can cut for sure before cutting through something a bit thicker. Just...no...squirrels please." She prayed to the high heavens they wouldn't bring some back. After all the river was down at the side of the mountain, curving around it at the base, and they weren't too high up to make it a pain to fetch some.
Reaching just next to her from the bush, she plucked a few larger leaves and placed them on the ground, beginning the practice of forming the chakra blades and trying to slice through one leaf. No go, as only nearly half actually fell away, still connected though. This likely meant she needed to pour in more chakra than she currently was, trying to reserve some until the fish. And harden it more... _________________ My plan:

Well, general consensus was that the squirrel idea was a no go. That was probably for the better. Couldn't have been much better than eating rats. At least there was a river nearby, apparently. For all he knew, the girl was just guessing. But, a guess was a better lead than a blatant lie, he supposed. "Well," he mumbled, "Fish it is then." Without so much as a word, Hideo placed his hands together, vanishing into a Body Flicker. If one looked closely, they could see him in the distance, facing the opposite direction, and walking, rather than running. The technique was only to give the illusion that he was going to attempt to do this task as quickly as he could. He didn't care much if he got to eat chunks of fish, byproducts of training. He could just as easily return to the village, if he was that hungry. This girl's training was of no real concern to him. Hell, she never actually gave her name. Yet, he would get the fish anyway. It was a great way to practice his mastery of Chakra threads. If it was the last thing he was to do, he would learn the secret of the Fuuma clan.
After a few minutes of walking, he did indeed come to a river. It wasn't rushing at this point, as it was quite a bit uphill. Thus, the water was easy to see through. And, there were fish, as the girl had claimed there to be. Digging a pair of kunai from his stock, he flipped them up, into the air. They never came back down. Neither did his arm, extended upward, as though holding something above his head. Extremely thin strands extended from the finger tips, connected to the dull end of the now floating knives. Chakra threads. This technique, he figured, was a step in the right direction. If only he could apply it to more than just his weapons. However, in this case, weapons were all he needed. This would make fishing a breeze.
Lowering his hand, the kunai shot into the water, both narrowly missing the same fish. Snapping his wrist back, they retreated. He positioned them differently this time, placing them directly over the fish, then diving straight down upon it. They missed again, as they were simply aimed at the bent refraction of the animal, and not the source. Apparently, he needed to try a third method. This time, he didn't even bother to withdraw them from the water, positioning them at the river's bank, horizontally aligned, just below the water's surface. One last, flowing hand gesture, and they screamed through the slowly moving water, skewering through the fish just behind the gills, and in the tail. Pulling back, Hideo brought his weapons from the river, taking the fish along for the ride, letting it plop on the gravel riverside. One down. The question came, then, how many fish would they need? _________________ The self proclaimed Harbinger of Change.

So..... Mei said with a light tone. You like little animals I take it, that is nice they are pretty cute after all are they not? Mei now stated with a growing darker tone about her voice, and turning slowly to look over at a bush nearby. So... if a small animal were to say... perish you would have a problem with it? After all you could just heal it since you are a medical ninja am I right, that is what you do you heal things, you repair them right? She now gave a more of piercing glare at Cielle, as if she despised her for an unknown reason. Oh I forgot you are in just training, you are nothing, but worthless at this point so why don't you just learn what it means to heal something the fast way.
Mei quickly whipped around, and moving her kimono top to the side a bit near her leg, pulled out a senbon needle, and with a bit of a chuckle, and glance at Cielle threw it into the brush only for it too be met with a small whimper. Oh looks like I hit something, now let’s go, and see what it is shall we~ With a shadow almost overtaking around her figure Mei walked forward to investigate the kill she had just made. As she moved into where it was she reached her hand down into the brush, and instead of pulling out a dead animal she instead felt the piercing of teeth hit her hand. I think........ I think... She said with a sick look on her face. That I missed it....... Slowly Mei pulled her hand up from brush to reveal a small squirrel that had a senbon in the very back part of it's tail biting down hard, and letting out a little growl. Blinking Mei began to shake her hand around a bit, the squirrel did not budge, Come on little guy let go... it was only a jo--- she was interrupted by the creature now biting down harder, and putting the nut that is had in its hand, into almost what seemed to be a firing position. Wincing Mei attempted to swat it, only to find the creature dodging her hand, and instead letting go of the one it was on, and flipping on top of it aiming it's Nut at her like a mobster. You have got to be kidding m-- the creature threw the nut at Mei's head bonking it lightly, and Mei let out a little laugh. That the best you got you stupid squr--- Suddenly the creature lunged forward with such reckless force that the shock from being body slammed in the face knocked Mei backwards onto the her head, and consequentially leading to her letting out a loud thud as her whole upper body met the ground below. Chuckling the Squirrel retreated back into the brush with it's nut, and left its defeated opponent on the ground half out cold with nothing less than the anime swirl eyes. Da...mn.... squrr...els....... uh..... _________________

The male, Hideo, moved off to do the requested task it seemed, but Mei...she stuck around. At first this didn't seem to be much of a problem, the girl having been quite amiable earlier, but the darker tones started to penetrate Cielle's willingness to make friends, disturbing her on some level. Yes, animals were quite a weakness, and her face twisted into concern and worry as she heard the whimper. The poor animal, whatever she'd hit...a sick pang shot through her heart, and she didn't notice the loss of the active chakra scalpel due to her loss in concentration. Somehow it felt like an extra good decision not to test it out on herself though...
And with those last lines it was all she could do to prevent herself from gulping as the girl sounded very much like she despised Cielle. Was it because of her chosen profession? Or rather the one she was choosing to go into...but they couldn't all be cold blooded killers, even some had to have the heart to remove the damage lest it be a constant blood bath. A part of her resented the 'worthless' statement, as everyone had to start somewhere. Couldn't all start out as bloody geniuses and know-it-alls. Like hell she'd just whimper and fall back at that!
But then, what was the point in retorting once the squirrel took the spotlight? Taking about a one-eighty Cielle's expression changed from one of concern mixed with annoyance to out right shock and surprise, one eye wide while the other was squinted as she watched. If she hadn't known better this squirrel might've watched some of the classes at the academy, a...squirrel shinobi? Oh gods what was this world coming to now? Some fanciful thought told her that someday she'd come back for this squirrel, though for what she was still unsure. Still...a squirrel adept in battle could be useful.
'Thanks to all this at least I know which of the other two techniques to learn next,' her eyes wandered to the hand, figuring that could be practice if nothing else. Overall she had mentally cheered the squirrel, if for no other reason that it was a great show and the squirrel had gotten away. It now over and the disturbing girl currently taking a chill for the moment, Cielle spared the momentary hope that Hideo would return soon, and proceeded to perform the Chakra Scalpel again. Inputting more chakra this time, she found that she could now cut through the leaves a bit easier, albeit it was still jilting her near the end. 'More chakra then? Or...wait, no, this is perfect, but I have to reform it or risk just wasting it away,' and focusing a bit more, she found that she was now able to fully cut through the leaves. A smile graced her face as she found a bit of victory. Still a bit to go though, as she had to learn to cut through something with a bit more substance, or she'd find herself only cutting the thin layer of fat beneath the skin, or the skin its self at this rate. Not very useful in the long run, in battle or surgery.
While further waiting for Hideo's return with the new practice subjects, she focused on the chakra surrounding her hands, trying to bring it into a tighter form, rather than the fuzzy looking orbs they were. A bead of sweat fell from her brow as she began forcing into a finer tip, as well as longer to be able to pierce further in. Once she had the form, it felt easier, as well as more controlled whereas she felt like she was just spitting out chakra when she was letting it form its self willy-nilly. 'Now just need to remember to force it into this form instead of letting it have its way,' she reminded herself, dispelling it while she awaited the return of Hideo and stared at the dizzy Mei. _________________ My plan:

(Hey guys. sorry to be holding things up. Things got chaotic. Over half of the birthdays among my family and friends fall within August, most of them before the 20th, and this includes my own. So, I'm not exactly sure when I'll have time to sit down and type up a decent post again. Please, feel free to continue one without me for the time being. Assume Hideo's fishing.) _________________ The self proclaimed Harbinger of Change.

[7/9 Guess I'll just...continue on]
Still young in many ways, it was easy for Cielle to fall into impatience as she waited for her targets to practice on. Hideo was either having difficulties or was trying to get enough bounty, but with her minor success in reshaping the scalpels into more workable forms, the eagerness to attempt using it more filled her until she jumped up, anxious and jittery. Before she could begin pacing she stopped herself, taking a few deep breathes to calm herself, lest she messed up in her practices since this required precision, not firing some eager blast from her hands at an opponent. For further practice she desired something more than the flat leaves seeing as one cut through them, rather than the insides, and so she needed something more telling.
She shuddered, recalling the suggestion of using a squirrel and rejected it fully and immediately. Unless...unless she found an already deceased animal? That wouldn't be as bad, as then it was more like it was just serving an extra purpose. Internally she still quivered at the idea, but so long as she wasn't killing what was once a fully-living and thriving cute creature, she would live through it. Ignoring the still unconscious Mei - what could she do about her anyways? - Cielle began searching about, trying nearly desperately to find some tell tale smell that gave away decaying life.
Luck granted her something, discovering a fallen deer some odd yards away from her original location. Her eyes caught some dark, violet berries, and knew the poor dear had likely eaten the poisonous substance, some brighter variation of the color oozing from its opened mouth. Sighing, she dragged the carcass back to her original clearing - away from those berries especially - and stretched it out. While searching she'd entertained thoughts of practicing on Mei, humans being different than cuddly critters, but decided against it, at least until she might be more sure of what she was doing, and then would have a target to practice the healing hands technique on. _________________ My plan:

[8/9]
Deer stretched before her, it was hard to decide where to begin since deer anatomy wasn't something someone studied often or without the right reasons. Seeing as her studies had yet to lead her to such wonders, it was out of her field. 'This will probably be a bit more hack and slash then...' the thought didn't help, causing her to cringe. So chanting in her head 'It's dead...it's dead...it's dead...' she formed the necessary hand seals, taking an extra moment this time to make sure the chakra formed into the finer points, while covering her hands like gloves as well, rather than the nearly perfectly round orbs from earlier. Staring at the body though, she frowned, and stared at the scalpels again: they weren't likely long enough. Not if she wanted to really reach in somewhat deep.
More chakra was released, aiding to elongate the blades since this wasn't a battle situation. The other size had been good enough if she was aiming for simple muscle damage, or separation, but she wanted to fine tune it a bit more. With a deep breath she swiped her hand through a part of the deer...
...and turned mildly green when she heard a 'splush' and saw part of the side deflate and the bottom fill out a bit more. From what she figured, stomach acid was now filling out parts of the lower body...swell...ewww...But go on she must, and deciding to aim further back, she gave a smaller, more calculated cut...
...and watched some mild movement under the skin. What was below the stomach, or in this case, behind? The intestines...so likely she'd torn, just about severed, or fully severed, and it had moved around a bit, after tearing off the rest if she'd failed to fully cut. Well...not as bad as the stomach acid. Pulling back some of the chakra output she made a lighter, more leveled cut along one of the legs and saw the slight droop as the muscle came loose from the bone. 'Very nice,' she thought, not looking at it as cutting a deer's muscle and inner organs, but pretending it was a really good fake she could practice on. _________________ My plan:

[9/9]
Moving her hands over more limbs, muscles that covered the organs - since making the blade long enough to get to them would have been exhausting for too long - she soon allowed it to fade away. So much slicing had been a bit of an endurance test as well at this point, and she was sure she'd need those fish soon while resting. She fell back, plopping comfortably onto her behind and surveyed what she'd done, and winced. The legs had become bulged in places as the muscles had been cut away, the lower half of the body flattening out while the ribcage attempted to keep some sort of form on the upper, and she could still hear a faint 'sloshing' sound as liquid tried to find a resting place.
Now for the gruesome part: observing her work.
With plenty of hesitance Cielle removed a kunai from her holster and pulled up some of the skin on a leg, slicing along it and watching bits of muscle fall out to the ground. Looking up to the sky, counting to ten, and taking some breaths, she looked back down to slice along the stomach. Composing herself, she forced her mind to become calm and look at this in a more medicinal way. After all, if she was to become one, and possibly work with animals it would due well not to turn green at innards falling out. Slicing at the top of the side of the belly area, she reached in to extract some of the intestines and observed the nearly clear cut-through. A bit of it had hung on and simply torn from the other part of the length, such as she could observe. But this part had likely been close to the surface as it could be. As she pealed back some of the surface skin, bits of muscle fell away - some in pieces and some as wholes, showing her first attempts and detailing her improved abilities as she went along.
Eventually she found what she was looking for: the first cut, which was indeed through a part of the stomach. From the looks of it, she'd managed to catch into a side and simply sliced through it, allowing the juices on the inside to fall freely to begin corroding parts of the other organs and tissues it touched, the stomach still hanging from its place and a handful of acid left inside still. Still holding to her "medic mindset" she managed not to lose her breakfast, and only felt mildly ill at the sight and thought of what she'd done.
'I guess...I'll label this one a success!' her stomach grumbled, reminding her that she was still getting hungry and decided that she would cook up some of the muscles she'd cut away, cutting some more with a kunai from the inside before pulling some twigs and branches together for a fire. Two matches later, stored in the brought back pack, she began cooking up some deer meat for lunch, wondering if she should prod Mei a few times or not. In the end she decided against it in favor of letting the squirrel get further away. _________________ My plan:

A fair amount of time had passed by. Hideo was resting under a tree, his book about the Fuuma clan before his eyes as the twin kunai stabbed repeatedly into the water, keeping in rhythm with the relaxing beat playing softly through his headphones. Every now and then, there would be a pull on the Chakra threads attached to them, which signified that there was a fish on the other end. To which, he simply tugged the opposite direction, and tore the aquatic animal from its habitat, letting it flop on the riverbank as he ripped the knife, or perhaps both knives, from its flesh. Within the time he'd been fishing, he'd amassed a pile of fish, at least a foot high, and stretching two feet across. There had to be at least thirty of the things twitching on the ground, slowly suffocating and bleeding to death, given that they hadn't already. It was a wonder that he was still able to add to their numbers. Though, as such, the occasions when he landed a hit were growing much further apart.
After five minutes without a 'bite,' the Kumo Genin slapped his book shut, sliding the kunai back into their place via Chakra thread. With a groan, he climbed to his feet, staring at the pile of soon to be sushi. Suddenly, it occurred to him, that he had absolutely no way to get them all back in one trip. If it weren't for the fact that they were flesh and bone, he probably could have treated the pile as a puppet, and used Chakra threads to float it back to the girls. Sadly, that was not the case. He needed to find some sort of net, or maybe a tarp. Right... In the mountains, where wilderness was abound... Fat chance of that.
With a sigh, he pulled out his spindle of wire. Forty meters' worth should have been enough to make a makeshift net. But, that would have required him to have snapped the wire. There was a better method, he realized. Taking a kunai out again, he tied the end of the wire onto it, the attached a Chakra thread. With a blur of motion, the knife stabbed through every one of the fish, stringing them along the wire before raising itself to a parallel with the ground. With ten meters of wire between himself and his weapon, Hideo had no less than thirty fish suspended in mid air. This worked quite well, he figured.
With his catch trailing behind, he made his way back up the mountainside, toward the area he'd met with Cielle. It was a few minutes' walk, but he made it back without any real happenings. But the scene he happened upon was quite strange. Swinging the string of fish ahead of himself, he yanked the kunai back through them, the opposite way, taking the wire along for the ride. Nothing left to hold them up, they flopped onto the ground, reforming into something resembling the pile from before. Untying the wire, and placing both it, and the knife back in their respective places, he nearly questioned why Mei was unconscious. But, it was better not to ask. "Sorry it took so long," he said, not bothering to pinpoint Cielle. she was around somewhere. "I got a little carried away, I think."
