As Ken walked out of the small building that was used as the waiting are for the exams, he yawned. It wasn't the most entertaining of battles, but it still was a pain to have to hurt yourself. Especially when something this big relied on it. Who wouldn't hurt themselves to become a chuunin? Well maybe some people, but Ken wasn't one of them. He knew he had to show he was from the rock village, that he was tough, and that he was of a great village. He hoped he had brought, if even a tiny bit of fame. Ken had walked in a bit worried, since he was the only one from Iwagakure, so if he had failed, he would have had no one to come and re-raise his village's reputation. However, he hadn't failed and hopefully that was enough to help his village.

So as he walked, he looked around for Tsubaki, smiling the whole time. Even though he was still a bit tired, he couldn't help smiling at a time like this.

Tsubaki had been sitting in a spectator area as he sighed and then noticed that the exams were over. He stood up from his seat and then followed the crowd to the exams board to see the names of the new Chuunin. When he saw Ken's name, he clapped softly and then walked off to look for him. He had noticed his scent somewhat as he followed along the village and then finally found his "friend". He tackled him from behind and and then sat on him and smiled. "Congratz! You're a Chuunin now!" Tsubaki smiled as he looked down at Ken.

Ken smiled as Tsubaki tackled him. He had so many medical ninja and others around him, if it had been someone bad, nothing good would come for them. Instead it was Tsuabki, he had been looking the whole time and Tsubaki had found him that fast. It felt funny, but he smiled anyways. Yeah, I guess I did. He said with a short laugh. And I couldn't have done it without your support. He said smiling, he really did mean it. He had been feeling better since he had met Tsubaki, and especially when he knew he would be coming to the exams with him.

"You know for a moment, I thought you were gonna fail when I saw the other guy's name there. But then when I saw you made honorable mention, I was so excited that I spilled soda pop on the guy in front of me. He wasn't exactly happy but I was." Tsubaki smiled and he looked into Ken's eyes and then looked away blushing. But the two were on the floor already and most everyone had been leaving. He simply laid down on Ken's body and smiled. "You brought Honor and Power to Iwagakure. Everyone will be proud of you. I know I am." He said softly as he held the new chuunin that he was laying on.

Ken smiled when Tsubaki admitted he had spilled his drink on the guy in front of him when he saw Ken's name. Yeah I was worried too. He said smiling. Then he saw that Tsubaki had blushed and quickly looked away, he chuckled as he lay down. Then Tsubaki lay down on him and said that he had brought honor and power to Iwagakure, and to Tsubaki himself. And you brought the honor and power to me, that I needed to win. So thank you Tsubaki. He said as he lay back.

Tsubaki smiled when he admitted that he was the reason he pushed on in the exams. He simply laid there with Ken and put his head on his chest and could hear the ninja's heart beating. Each rhythmical beating made a song in his head that only he could hear and he enjoy the thought of music so exclusive to him. He then held Ken's hands and slowly drifted to sleep there with him despite being outside in the middle of a destroyed but living city. As he did, he simply whisper words that he knew Ken couldn't hear but already knew. In a second, he was in dreams where the music kept playing in his head.

As they lay there, he felt Tsubaki laying on him. He smiled as he put his hands under his head, becoming a sort of pillow or something. This was surprisingly comfortable to him. As he layed he looked at the building where the chuunin exams were held, and then his left arm. His left arm had been pretty badly damaged during the exams, but it weirdly didn't hurt as much as when he was in the exams. Probably because there was no sand in it now, and the medics had treated it to the best of their abilities, but Ken felt like Tsubaki was helping too. As he lay there, he realized that Tsubaki had fallen asleep, and before he knew it, Tsubaki and Ken were both sleeping in the middle of otogakure.

Time passed in relative silence as people had left the area of the exams and no one thinking twice of the two boys laying on the floor. Most thought they were dead seeing as they barely moved and did not give them a second glance. Tsubaki stirred as the night had fallen on them and it was dark where they were. He yawned as he looked at Ken sleeping silently below him. He smiled ad couldn't resist the moment. His hair was shining in the moonlight, his eyes closed and his breathing steady. He felt his whole world in the boy's grasp. He leaned down slowly, taking in his scent and enjoying it. His lips quivered a bit as he pressed his against Ken's and gave a shallow kiss, feeling that the sleeping boy would not wake or return it.

As Ken and Tsubaki slept, the day turned to night and the people from the exams had left. No one had bugged, or even given much care to them, even though they were sleeping in front of the exams building on the ground. Some had thought they were dead, but didn't really seem to care. As he slept, Tsubaki had woken up and kissed him. Ken had woken up just as Tsubaki had started kissing him. He was wide eyed when he awoke, but decided to go with it. He went along with the kiss, Tsubaki's lips felt cold to Ken, but it felt strangely good. As the kiss would end he would look into Tsubaki's eyes. That's got to be one of my best 'good evenings' ever. Ken joked, giving a short chuckle with it.

Tsubaki looked at Ken as he woke and then quipped. He smiled though he knew that his kiss had little effect. Deep inside he felt devastated by it, as if pouring more affection into the kiss drained him. He simply stood up off the ninja and then dusted his clothes off and then nodded. "Well, I'm glad then." He said as he looked at the stars wondering what time it was. He was hungry and tomorrow they would have to return home. However, he was scared of returning home. When they would arrive, Ken would most likely dragged into Chuunin politics and be taken away for a long time. He sighed and then heard his stomach growl. "I'm hungry." He said as he walked off towards a restaurant, not even paying mind to Ken.
