Ari Phoenix

Shizuka found herself in an area, filled with shadows. She had her blade drawn, though still hadn't had a chance to unseal it's new power, she looked around, as she noticed the people moving about. She wasn't scared, in fact she was used to shadows. It wasn't a fear of hers. She watched, as the people moved, hidden like demons from her past, though her sword was held with both hands, she knew she could take them. She closed her eyes, as one came at her with his claws, as she cleaved him in half. She didn't even blink before slicing through one with swords. She felt the power swirling up around her, the wind causing her hair to fly up, as her kimono rustled. She opened her eyes, and opened the fansword into it's fan mode, before pushing chakra into it, to send a blast of wind blades into them. "I dare you to try to come at me, I have a destiny that will not be lost to you." She stated, her voice sounding rather firm. She ran passed another one, and cut through him. Before she realized it, they were dead, at least this wave of them. She waited for the next wave to start, wondering just why these demons were here, she could smell their putrid green blood, and realized, these guys were similar to the ones that had attacked her in Konoha.

Tai had ran up to Shizuka and looked around. She had caught him by surprise by speeding off and left him in the dust. By the time he caught up, she was surrounded by dead.... things. "What the hell... green? What are these things? Why did they attack you? Shizuka..... next time... wait the hell up! How the hell am I suppose to help if you run off? Give me a chance to show off!" Tai smiles at the last part. He always did have a wierd sence of humor. " There are going to be more arn't there... bring it on.... I can take anything these wierdos got!"

She had a serious look on her face, and didn't seem to get the joke. "They were demonic ninja, I am guessing that Tachibana had something to do with their Initial Appearance, or at least knew of them." She spoke, a small bit of anger tinged her voice. "They had attacked Konoha a while back, but back then, I only knew Destructive large area Wind Jutsu, and my only melee fighting ability was my wolf form, I did alright, but had ended up passing out due to a wound to my stomach at the time, their blood doesn't taste all that good to me, and I must admit, that they are rather fierce and strong fighters, though I must be stronger, though you'll have your chance, there seems to be more of them in the Shadows, waiting on us to come closer." She stated, her eyes well adjusting to the swirls of the darkness around them. She returned her sword to sword mode, and looked at him. "I hope your ready." She whispered, as a group of ten more appeared, prepared to strike at them.

Tai noted the anger that tinted Shizuka's voice and decided to be fully serious about the situation. "So.... another one of Ukyo's mishaps..... he's really starting to piss me off....." Tai took a few steps forward so that he was in front of Shizuka. "You had the first set so, these are mine......" He watched the shadows for the right timing. "Got you...." He put his hands together unleashing a quick combination of handsigns. A gaint wave of water spread out from around him and Shizuka. It seemed as if the demon ninjas hadn't expected Shizuka to have a companion of such power so, most of them were swept away in surprise. The ones who were still standing quickly withdrew to reevaluate the situaion. Tai looked at Shizuka. "I think I've bought us some time but, not much. I think we need to find whatever it is that these demons are protecting. It must be important. What do you think Shizuka?" Tai drew his scythe just in case the demon's withdrawl was only a diversion.

A slight sneer echoed from the voice box of the former Otokage, as he stared down at the unknown mysteries of darkness that were before him…at least they should have been unknown. But he knew much of darkness, as eighteen of his nineteen years had been plunged in it, with no escape in sight. Even with his Doujutsu he had gone blind to the real world around him…but now he wasn’t. With his fiancé in tow, the man moved swiftly throughout the trees of the Land of Shadows, as his ornate crimson eyes ebbed in the darkness, which now seemed like light. His hair moved swiftly, being ushered by the wind, as he continued to make strides towards his destination. Ever since he and Reileyn had left the ruins of Otogakure no Sato, the man had been picking up as much Intel as he could about one of the former members of the group he had formed almost a year ago. It appears as if he was the last one to survive in the group, but only because he struck a deal with the devil, per say. Tree limbs creaked a bit under the pressure of his shinobi shoes, but no other sound was echoed, as he knew what resided in this place…the cold chill was something he remembered quite well.

Finally he came to a stop on a large oak limb, as he held up his right hand in order to stop Reileyn, who was still close nearby. He felt it, the same evil that was present when he was supposedly slain by the vampire creature known as Ukyo…yet they were less sinister. Only pawns in a game of chess that wouldn’t be won by the red-haired blood sucker. Slowly a pale hand moved towards the back of the red rope sash that Sairyou wore, gently letting the digits of the hand engulf the foot long hilt of his second most favored blade. Slowly pulling forth the lengths of the Divine Kusanagi, the white glow illuminated the dank area, right before he heard a small hiss from below. Plunging from the treetop, the long yellow cloth, which stretched from his lower stomach, to his shins, was sent flapping as he fell in the center of the creatures without a sound. Something like laughter was heard from the creatures, as the Uchiha felt his feet being engulfed in water…a jutsu? Whatever it was, it was now complete, as it didn’t wash him away, though it was still flowing downhill behind him.

The next step would be to investigate the water flow, but for now it was time to have a little fun. Swinging his blade around, he held the weapon in the correct direction, as he could hear Orochimaru’s voice in his mind, giving a stern cackle. Holding forth the full six feet of the nodachi, Sairyou beckoned the creatures, as the remaining five attempted to jump on him from all around him. In a low voice he bellowed, ”…To slow…” Launching himself into the air, he masterly completed a full tumble, allowing his left foot to kick one of the creature in the head, before dispatching his Kusanagi to do his bidding. As he twirled the blade within his left hand, crimson blood spewed out around him, as a minion was cut down with mere ease. As his body slid to pieces, the Uchiha landed plush with his right hand touching the soft grass below him. As he rotated on his palm, a large grin could be seen plastered on his face, as he cut through the bones of the remaining four creature’s leg, like a knife through butter. As they all fell to their stubs, Sairyou began to twirl his blade, as it found its way back into the sheath. As he did this, the soon-to-be-wed man launched himself into the air, as he formed invisible kata, before putting his hands to his mouth. The yellow eyed creatures would get to say nothing else, as the pale digits rose to the mouth of the shinobi, as he inhaled a deep breath.

As he exhaled, large amount of flames were blasted everywhere, incinerating both the creatures, and any other vegetation around them. As he landed on the charred ground once more, the ninja ran his hands through his finger, as he began to remember where the now evaporated water trail had come from. Furrowing his eyebrows, Sairyou dashed in that direction with an amazing Shunshin, as a rattlesnake like sound was emitted from behind him. As he exited the clearing, the grin was wiped away from his face, as he now stared at two people…or things in the case of one of them. Not for a second did he hesitate to snatch forth the other Kusanagi, which was a part of the ‘X’ formation that he had made with his two blades. Sinister red Raiton chakra ran through the blade for the moment, as his heavy voice said, ”Tai, I will give you one chance to explain the reason why you’re close to this creature, before I mow you down along with it. You seem to have your weapon drawn, yet I do not see it’s corpse beside you…Explain?!” His emotions were running high, as he looked Tai into the eyes, daring him to speak a lie in the pupils of the Sharingan eye. Sairyou’s grip on the black hilt wouldn’t relax, as it was itching to slay the monster which resided beside Tai, the one who had the same type aura as Ukyo.

Reileyn looked around the area. She had never really traveled far outside of Otogakure. This place was different to her and she wasn't sure of what to make of it. Her hair was braided down her back, she looked at Sairyou and was she was keeping pace with him she saw him stop. She could feel the awkward aura around them. She wasn't sure of what it was and she saw what it did to Sairyou. She thought to herself, wondering what was going on and she could see the anger and hate in his eyes. Closing her sapphire blue eyes as she withdrew HIkari Hana, the katana given to her by her brother. She looked around and saw Sairyou move, he was rather quick and agile, but she saw the hate and fear in his eyes. When she saw him talk to someone she looked at him sheathing her katana standing behind him just looking around seeing a woman with long dark flowing hair.

The Vampiress saw light in the darkness, and had to cover her eyes for a moment, she had been tracking movement before a flash of light had destroyed her ability to see. She didn't know what was going on. She felt the warmth, and realized it was fire, but only moments later, did it hit her, that someone else had dispatched more of the Demonic ninja. She smelled the green blood, and realized that he mysterious ninja had unsheathed a sword. She then watched as a second series of light started, as the sword was charged with energy. She was in awe of the hidden one's power, unaware of his full extent. She would have to see him though, in order to even size up his powers fully. She would have to seek out this guy's power, but first she knew that there was something weary of him.

She then heard his voice, before she saw him. He had some surge of hate in him for her. She felt a slight fury in her, for how he called her an it, instead of referring to her in a way that wasn't just mean, it was downright insulting. She felt the sword in her hand, wanting to change, and gain the full power of what was placed into it, but she tried to restrain it, as she felt her vampiric blood try to boil up, and take herself back into her power, a red light fluctuated from her sleeve, where the Rosario was, and lightning seemed to run through her, causing her to cry out. She teared up again, as she went to one knee, her sword falling into place in the ground. She felt a wave of pain finish flowing through her, before she stood up again, she looked at Tai, unsure what the prior Mizukage would say to the one that was threatening her. She stared at him, with a wish that he wouldn't be as judging of her, in such a mannerism.

"I have a Name, and that is Shizuka" she started, as she picked up her blade, and placed it into the back sheath, noticing that there were no more demonic ninja at the moment, though she did notice a woman behind the man, who had red hair and a familiar feature about her. "You, behind the man with the swords, you have something familiar about you, have you ever been to Konoha? Or Maybe suna?" She asked, her green eyes searching the woman, cautious. She then looked back at the three. and realized that there wasn't much that she could say. She wanted to say more, but waited on the Ex Mizukage, to speak his part.

Tai looked over in the darkness to a voice he felt that he had not heard in ages. "Sairyou? Are you?" Tai thought for a moment. Has the darkness begun to play tricks on me? Is this a genjutsu of some sorts? He's dead...... The voice inside of him spoke in response. Is he? Are you so certain? You see his figure and his voice.... you know that it's truely him..... just speak the truth and don't get angry...... not yet..... Tai smiled. "Sairyou.... you dead guy, you..... Shizuka is under my protection.... she is not like the demon Ukyo who killed you. She is different. Her destiny and mine are intertwined. Ukyo is bound to cross my path while I'm with her. That much is certain. You will not touch her. Ever. I once worked for you..... you know that I do what I say I will do and I say that I will protect her. Now.... who is the person whom you have with you?" Tai stood between Sairyou and Shizuka. He didn't want to take any chances. He knew just how bad Sairyou could be when he disliked someone.

The look on the face of the Uchiha turned from one of murderous contempt, to a deep frown within seconds, as he listened to both Tai and Shizuka let out their little speeches, while the woman exaggerated her emotions, falling to one knee, before rising and saying something the man didn’t care about at all. His curious eyes ran from Tai to his follower, as he attempted to follow along with his solemn words. The only thing that caught his ears was, ” Her destiny and mine are intertwined. Ukyo is bound to cross my path while I'm with her. That much is certain. You will not touch her. Ever.” It was one thing to tell his former leader about how he felt, but it was another thing to tell Sairyou, one who was one of the greatest shinobi to ever bless Otogakure no Sato, that he would never lay a hand on someone. The only person who was immune to the power of the powerhouse was Reileyn, and Tai himself. But he didn’t need to know that, no one did. With a light ‘pfft’ sound echoing from his mouth, the shinobi began to twirl the Elder Kusanagi between his fingers. Placing his left hand in front of his face for a moment, he dropped it quickly, swinging it behind his back, as he withdrew his other blade once more.

The speed in which he moved was astounding, as he closed the distance between himself and Tai within less than a second. As he was within inches of the man, he had slightly lowered himself, as he placed the onyx colored blade to the neck of his former partner, letting a bit of Raiton chakra jump from the blade, as it produced a static sound. The weapon in his left hand was now tucked under the arm of former Mizukage, clearing its way to the stomach of the vampire. The full length of the nodachi had proved itself useful once more, as a slight grin was placed on the face of the former Yondaime Otokage. Pivoting on his left foot, he removed the blade from under Tai’s arm, while simultaneously removing his dark blade from the neck of his friend. None of the movements had killing intent…as no one was bleeding, it was only for show. As he turned on his heels, he swung the blades back into place, as he moved swiftly to go stand by his woman. As he reached her, he placed his right arm across her shoulder, as he continued to stare at Tai with mindless crimson orbs.

In a booming voice Sairyou said, ”You will not tell me what I will do. I will touch whomever I want I will kill whomever I want…I will spare whomever I want. You may be strong Tai…but with these eyes…I am the king.” It was always in the ego of an Uchiha that they had talents that no one possessed, and that no one other than their own clansmen would be able to match them. Continuing he said, ”You have vouched for this creature, that is enough for me not to obliterate it…this is your favor…as a friend.” Looking towards the bright red hair of Reileyn, the man gently tilted his head, as he said, ”And this is my fiancé, Itichi, Reileyn. It would be wise for you not to touch her, or all your limbs will be sliced off, and I’ll electrify you till you wish you were dead. I know your enemy…” He didn’t have to spell it out, the Mizukage knew that Raiton wasn’t his best friend, yet if he tried to test the willpower of Sairyou, he would feel the full force of the Elder Kusanagi, the wrath of Orochimaru.

Reileyn stepped beside Sairyou placing her hand on his shoulder smiling softly at her fiance. "Sairyou...you big softie." She smiled at Tai and Shizuka she bowed and looked at the woman with dark hair, " My name is Reileyn Itichi as my fiance stated. I am traveling with him until we can find a place of our own to call home. Now enough of this bickering. Let's get down to business." Reileyn looked at her fiance and nodded at him. She wasn't quite sure why they were here but she would stand by Sairyou, "Also, I would like to point out that no harm will come to my fiance. I dare anyone to try it." She stated looking at both Tai and Shizuka. Kirara meowed pawing at Reileyn and she bent down to pick up the neomata, "This is my long time friend, Kirara, a family pet and protector." She stated smiling at Kirara knowing she could always count on Sairyou and Kirara to be there for her.
