This place had to be imported in, with large trees from the forest of Death. There are various nuisances hidden, such as nests of giant insects, and various carnivorous plants scattered around, there are a few pit fall traps, the entire area is made up like a forest, even though the area wasn't really all that large. The walls have thorns about the size of Kunai. Though it is being watched by Mokuton user, as well as Gaia ninja. The battle ground can't really be seen down at the feet, thanks to all the plants and brambles. What else could be hidden here? Keto Satsujinki had separated away from his fellow Kirigakure shinobi and headed towards the arena that he was assigned to. Luckily for him he was not assigned to fight the people he knew as of yet, because it would be too much like right for him to be engaged in the same people he had already fought against. He surely did not want to fight Ste from the jump because it would have been like reliving a memory that was a waste of his life and proved to be nothing more than a memory when he found out that he could not gain the title he had worked so hard for in his match. If that was the way it had to be, he could not expect much reason to be achieved when he was a child and everyone else was above him in both rank and maturity.
Even so, if the match he had was really illegal, it would not have been as exciting to have become chuunin when he was fighting under false pretenses that could have made the match much easier than they were intended to be. From the first look of the massive forest that was suppose to be his battle arena; he knew that something was very different this time around. The landscape itself was an enemy and was possibly able to prove as more of a danger than his opponent was to be. The ground was…well there was no ground. So much debris and plants and wildlife were entangled on the ground that it could not be seen. Keto just walked across it as even his feet were still engulfed in a massive height of plants.
The trees above them entangled with each other to only provide the imagination an image of what was above in the sky. The people were going to have a difficult time watching this fight, but that did not mean that the contestants were not going to give it their all. Keto for one wanted that title and recognition at this moment. Nothing was going to stop him from becoming stronger to not follow other people’s goals, but his own. He arrived in what was assumed to be the center of the area and awaited the other genin’s arrival so that the party could start. _________________

The sound of flapping could be heard from the distance as a young boy walked forward. His name was Uchiha Toru, and he was here to compete in the exams. He thought he had the talent an skills, but still would not under, nor overestimate his enemy. So he walked forward slowly, smiling as he did. This would, if not be fun, then at least a nice challenge. His arena was right ahead, he hadn't heard anything of it, but had saw the several giant trees. He was guessing that it would have something to do with the tree, why else would something like that be there. Sure that seemed a lot like a 'captain obvious', but he had no idea what to expect. The other times he had been in the chuunin exams he had just had concrete floors, and concrete walls. This looked a lot more challenging.
He walked into the arena, smiling when he arrived. His headband was on his forehead, showing not only his village, but who he himself was. He, the leaf ninja. He looked around, bewildered by what he saw, trees, bushes, leaves, vines, and even giant insects. He couldn't see the ground, or even his feet, as the numerous fallen branches, twigs, leaves, and just stuff like that in it's self, was covering the ground. He took note that this could be a reasonable way to hide, but that was also true for his opponent. So, this would be a tough place to battle with an opponent, especially if his opponent was a good strategist. He could most likely easily be caught by a trap in these conditions, and he himself wasn't very good in making quick traps.
No, for this battle he would either have to be quick, agile, and tough, or cunning, stealthy, and have the ability for split-second ideas. He was worried he was neither, but would try anyways. He looked around once more, making sure that the person he saw, was in fact the real one, and his real opponent for the exams. He walked forward, remembering his exact stps for later, and quickly, but carefully. He reached his opponent where he stood and smiled. He held out his hands to shake if his opponent would like to, but if not it didn't matter that much. _________________

The proctor showed up, his face and body covered in green clothing, shaped like leaves so as to be hidden amongst the leaves themselves. He watched as both genin approached the area, and then he himself came up. "Alright, I see that you both are here." He spoke with a rather raspy voice. "Satsujinki Keto Versus Uchiha Toru, I now pronounce you both ready to partake in this examination, I would like to point out, that even though you two are to fight with your all, should one seem to be drawn towards death, that I may, or may not save you, so be sure, also, if you haven't already noticed, there are dangers all over this battle ground, so please, be careful, I don't want to have to save you from a stupid decision, now ready, Begin!" He declared, slashing between them with a vine like hand, before disappearing back into the leaves.

Unlike the proctors that represented themselves as procrastinators during the genin first gathering, Keto would immediately see a change in pace when his match was ready to start. His opponent was only before him for a few seconds before he was also noticing the uprising of weeds beside him. Further examination left him noticing that the grass was not becoming alive around him, but this chunk of mess was actually his proctor for the examination. He started off by informing the boys of the dangers that lurked within this forest created for the bout. The way he made it seem was that Keto would need to keep more focus on the area that he was about to combat in than the person that he was actually going to fighting. Keto scratched his head with his right hand and placed his left hand on his side right next to his hilt of his tanto while continuing to listen to the warnings of the proctor.
This proctors warnings may have been quire beneficial for young Keto, but what was really getting over on Keto to make him like the proctor’s style was the fact that he kept his speech short and immediately got the boys into action. He fell back into the bushes with his signal well heard. Keto stared onto his opponent and listened to things that went bump in the night make all kinds of sounds around him. He heard the hissings, the crows, the breathing, and the sniffing of every thing, creature, human, or anonymous figure that was around his vicinity. He could not pinpoint them, but out of all the sounds he heard, he could not help but think that they were all coming from predators rather than prey. His left hand moved to his hilt and he was lunging forward to attack.
Quickly the strike came from the boy’s sheath in the form of a tanto. His weapon of choice was indeed The Weaponsmith, but this was the style he wished to strike in first. With a flick of his wrist he found himself performing an uppercut with his blade at hand, he was then ready to follow by a right punch in the form of a powerful jab. The match was just beginning and Keto was still trying to figure some things out about his opponent. So far, he only knew of his name, and that was not enough. He had never heard of him before so he could not act like he did. Hopefully, something interesting could be derived from the boy’s direct attack aimed get adrenaline running from the start of the exam rather than wait it off until the end. _________________

Toru sighed as he dropped his hands back down to his sides, what happened to the old days when a handshake was the usual way to start a spar or friendly battle. Was it now just a polite gesture that was no longer wanted? Or did this kid just not feel like it? He wouldn't know the new trends or styles that had arrived since the previous chuunin exams, the one where he had become injured and sent to the hospital. The dreaded, cold, and hard hospital... His hands were cold, the hair on his arms and the back of his hand were raised to trap warm air in between them. He liked this, it was refreshing, in a weird way.
As he stood there, staring at his opponent to try and get some early hint to his fighting style or abilities, he saw some leaves and grass beside them start to move. After the sight of the moving grass in the corner of his eye, he quickly changed his glance from his opponent to the strange object. As it raised he realized what it was, the proctor, disguised for the setting of the arena. He quickly, yet efficiently, explained that he would step in and possibly save anyone whose life was in danger. He shivered when the proctor pointed out that he may or may not save them if the need arrived. He was confident in the proctor's skill to save them, but his decisions were what worried him. Then the proctor fel back and went back into hiding, the match finally beginning.
As the proctor disappeared, Toru's gaze fell back upon his opponent, Keto. Keto, whose name had been announced by the proctor along with Toru's own name, had already drawn his tanto and was already striking. He did the first thing that came to mind, but decided to stretch it out. As the strike landed, it would soon turn out to be a log, and Toru gone. Toru had disappeared, hidden in the leaves, transformed into the proctor, and made a clone of himself behind Keto. He was worried he had overdone it, draining a chunk of his chakra, but decided it had only been a fragment of his limits. So there he waited, wanting to see what Keto would do, but had a kunai in his left hand if the need arrived to use it.

Bunshin no Jutsu [Clone Technique]

Description: This technique must be mastered by any ninja who has graduated from the shinobi academy. It's the most basic technique a Gennin must know, since it can be a real lifesaver. This ninjutsu creates a simple illusion clone identical to the caster. The clone however has no physical properties and will disperse the moment it is touched.
Henge no Jutsu [Transformation Technique]

Description: Henge is the basic skill a ninja must know to become a Gennin. It's mostly used as a decoy, to confuse the opponent by transforming into somebody that's an ally with the enemy, and then attack from the back when he's not expecting it. This technique can easily be combined with other jutsus for a more powerful effect, such as with Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique].
Kawarimi no Jutsu [Body Switch Technique]

Description: Kawarimi is a widely used and very famous skill among shinobi. The user uses speed to their advantage, and grabs an item from the environment and places it on his/her current position while moving out of the way. This is clearly an evasion technique used to dodge attacks; however it can be linked with other jutsus or attacks to create massive damage if done properly.

Keto went forward with his strike while just expecting to hit something. He did not necessarily need to make contact to Toru through damage inflicted, but wanted some real contact to be engaged between the two competitors to start the match off good with plenty of excitement for anyone that was watching. He would not be performing in this match to impress the crowd, but he did not want to be ignored during his examination. Win or lose, he expected to have a spotlight placed on him and Toru making a spectacle for the race to become chuunin. With his sudden release of want, Keto found himself being overwhelmed quickly after a second glance had been initiated to what he was hitting. His blade came down silently to the shoulder of what he thought was Toru and a smile appeared on his face as his free hand inched backwards to continue forward, but before it would hit he would have his attention sidetracked by a veil of smoke before his eyes.
While continuing his punch, everything seemed to go slow for a moment of time. The smoke gradually erased from his sight as he peered through to see something else before him other than a bleeding body. He was looking onto a log that was part of a basic technique used known as Kawarimi no jutsu. It was an academy first for him. It was a jutsu that everyone knew, but it was not expected to be used directly off the back. This was only Keto’s way of looking at the situation, but a lot of other people liked the strategy submitted. He aimed to thrash and crash before pulling out the surprise of a basic technique. He really enjoyed coming into contact with the jutsu used, so it was even more fun for him to finish off his combo and punch the log off of his tanto back to the bushes that were nearby.
After finishing his attack, he flicked his wrist to have his tanto out from him completely vertical to his body as he turned around through combat readiness of expecting Toru to attack from behind him. Just as he expected, he would only have time for one thing to be done as he spun into seeing Toru coming for him like he was prey. Immediately he raised his weapon in his hand, but now it was no longer a tanto, but a spear like weapon. It was in Crescent Moon Pike form thrusting out to the stomach of the clone. The thrust came hard and quick ready to penetrate the opposing force that was Toru, but yet again another surprise would startle him. Like before he was veiled in smoke, but after the smoke moved on its way into the forest even more, nothing would be left behind as Keto quickly began to think, “What the hell! Oh… This guy is good with his basics. He had used a substitution first and then followed it by a basic bunshin clone to throw me off and further hide his position behind his first jutsu. It was a brilliant combination of the basics. But…”
At that moment he was hit with a spark in his mind. Was he being played? The boy used two of the most basic of the three techniques to a mastery level like Keto did not know what they were, so it could easily be suggested that the boy had also used a henge to hide himself within the area like a chameleon. It was a great way to utilize the habitat that they were in and use low chakra consuming techniques. Now he needed to find out where Toru was. If he was indeed in a henge, it would be difficult to find him unless he moved and made sound, but with all the sounds that came from the cavern of trees, deciphering his specific attack would prove to be a hard task. While contemplating what he should do next, a nearby sound caught him by surprise as he quickly thrust his pike towards a nearby tree with a swift movement to stab a snake in its head as it climbed up a tree. His eyes widened and he told himself, “I got to get it together. If this place beat me with wasted movements, then Toru would not even have to try.” _________________

Toru watched as his trick worked, Keto had completely fallen into his trap, but the trap had still been incomplete. He hadn’t had enough time to think of how to fully execute his tricks in the time for when his prey was stuck. He quickly thought of what to do, running several ideas through his mind quickly, but not particularly favoring any of them. He decided he’d try to do at least one thing, one think h could do silently, but it would be extremely helpful. Sharingan! He thought to himself, silently as it was only heard by himself. Suddenly, if anyone had been watching him they would suddenly know his clan, his bloodline, his surname. He was an uchiha, and with Sharingan, his eye’s irises suddenly turned red, three black tomoe in them. The tomoe looked like a comma on a piece of paper, a deed, a ceasefire request, or a will. He thought it was amazing that this tiny trick, so small, and seemingly useless would help him so much, and that his clan was famous for it. To a dimwit, or just anyone that had never heard of his clan or their bloodline, it would just look like he changed his eyes’ colors and gave them a cool design. However, to someone that was smart, educated about the sharingan, or just heard of their bloodline, they would know it’s true power, and Toru’s true potential. As soon as he had activated his kekke genkai he could see perfectly. Everything seemed to have slowed down, he could see chakra, and he could even see some of the creepy animals and insects that were around the arena. This felt great, and this was only a fragment of the power of the sharingan.
Toru was a special kid, having already achieved the third stage of the sharingan. Most kids his age were lucky to even gain the first stage, yet he had already mastered the third stage. He made a note to wash really well after the exams, feeling something rub up against his arm, but then going away. He did a silent sigh as it left, the thing that had rubbed against him was slimy, but also seemed to have needles attached to it’s body. He was lucky the thing barely touched him, he wasn’t sure if the slimy part was a type of poison of some sort, or just saliva or something, either way it had only brushed against him to the slimy substance wouldn’t be able to enter his blood stream anyway. Then as he breathed a sigh of relief he got a small idea. He quickly formed handseals, as silently as he could to not give away his position, and then smiled. He hoped this other trick would work, he only had a small bag with him, but knowing how to use the tricks in a smart way was better than having a cart load of them. Suddenly, behind a tree that was behind Keto, a clone would appear. This clone would run at Keto, pretending to get ready to punch him in the gut, but Toru knew Keto would actually just block and the clone would disappear. The clone was a bit away from Toru, so if Keto decided to check where it came from, Toru would still be safe, well at least from Keto while forest could be dangerous no matter what the two of them did. Even burning the forest down, which Toru could not do at the moment, would not stop the dangers, but probably increase the danger of the arena.
Whatever Keto did in response would be seen by Toru, watching his opponents every move. Yes he had seen Keto stab the snake in the head, no it didn’t worry him. The snake had no defenses, and only a single attack which would be hard to execute on a ninja, and the snake also didn’t have much willpower. These things that the snake didn’t have, were all carried by the boy by the name of Toru Uchiha. Toru did have defenses, speed and skill, strength and wisdom, he did have offense, his jutsu and weapons, nunchaku and kunai, and he did have will power, others had always said he had a brilliant mind. So Toru had a great chance of beating the young boy known as Keto, Keto of the Village Hidden in the Mist. He was a young boy, Keto. Not only was he young, but his looks showed it, even Toru was young, yet Keto was still younger and about four inches shorter. What was scary, was Keto was good, Toru realized this. Keto, as young and small as he was, could possibly beat Toru and take the Chuunin title for himself. Size doesn’t always matter it seemed, Toru had never counted people out for their size, but had never worried this much about it either. Keto would have a lot easier time hiding, unless he was no good at strategy, but Toru wouldn’t underestimate him, so he always counted his enemy as a genius in strategy from the very beginning. Rarely in his battles have they not been efficient in strategy, maybe not a genius, but always at least kind of good. _________________
