Ken smiled when the kid he was facing introduced himself, and asked for his own name as well. He knew it was probably unwise to tell his name when facing an opponent, maybe they would know of you and they would know your trump card or abilities. However, Ken knew that he wouldn’t know of him, or his clan. His clan was not very well known, in fact he only knew of one other living Norimune in the world, and that was his brother, the mizukage. Also he decided that he would need to introduce himself, to give his name, just to add on to the honor in which he would bestow upon Iwagakure if he was to succeed, and to increase his shame if he should be defeated. However, he was not scared of shame, maybe he had some fears, but shame was not one of them. If he was given shame by someone, by a clan, a village, his home, it would not matter as long as he himself knew he did the right thing, he had not done something for the wrong reasons. No, as long as he would know what was right, he could redeem himself and make it all better. I am Ken, from my home of Iwagakure. He said, raising his voice as he said it for all to here. May the best man win Kenji. He shouted. As he watched Kenji quickly kicked sand at him, it raised and floated in the air for a couple moments. Ken quickly realized that Kenji was going to use this to his advantage somehow, be it to sneak attack, hide, or just get away who knew. Ken decided he’d use it for a trick of his own, a vanishing act.
Ken ran forward into the smoke, noticing that Kenji’s shroud was no longer through the sand; Kenji had used a disappearing act of his own. Ken had run into the thick sand, just about to start falling to the ground, and realized how dangerous this stage could be. As he had stopped, the ground under him and moved with him, causing him to slide a bit forward, almost throwing him off balance. He managed to stay standing though, and to keep his balance inside the cloud of dirt. He should have been unable to be seen, only having been seen running into the sand, and not coming back out. Right before the sand started falling; he formed a short string of handseals, before sinking into the ground, nothing in his place. The sand would fall to the ground and he would be gone, his magical disappearing act complete. He was now underground, having used a favorite of his jutsu arsenal. He felt just like what the name of the jutsu he had executed was; a mole hiding. He was safe underground now, he barely heard the shruiken that had been thrown at the ground, Kenji must not have noticed he was gone. He decided to stick around underground for a little while to keep Kenji on his toes while Ken himself just relaxed and thought of a quick strategy, or at least what to do next. So he traveled around underground, climbing and crawling over to the boulder his opponent was standing upon. He doubted Kenji could hear him, it would probably be tough for a kage to hear him in his current position, he was about a meter underground. So there he sat, waiting to listen for what Kenji would do next, while also thinking of a quick strategy, not worrying if he would change it later or not.

I look out into the area when the sands still clearing < i cant see where he is there is only one way to find out >i said moving my hands out of the way to use the jutsu. I sent my chakra instead to my eyes having them turn pale white with one triangle tomoe in each eye at the bottom left corner when i look around to see in the area i was just at. Not seeing him there i scan everywhere looking for him. " where can he be?" i said looking around trying to find where ken has disappeared to. < he must be using ninjutsu >i thought looking around still both high and low wondering what he used < if it was a genjutsu i would be able to see right through it > i thought. I jump down from the boulder and begin to run to the next one leaping behind it. I start to grab my sword knowing if he was anywhere with in taijutsu range i would have to use my katana to attack.
Holding my hilt i quickly formed a new plan that was a way of drawing him out from where ever he was hiding < If he is anywhere near me now i must throw him off >i thought hearing about some techniques that allowed the user to hid where they were from the academy when i was there. < if he is using a technique like this then i know what to do > i thought moving my hand from my hilt forming hand signs left and right. i formed one clone that would be the decoy while i transformed myself into another boulder that was two feet high like the one next to me. The clone ran out into the area with my plan in mind trying to draw him out when he grab the hilt of the sword on his left side.
With his sword he went off to halfway into the area moving along the sand. The clone looks out with the clans eyes wide open waiting for him to come out. Moving around the area was what i had planned for my clone making sure that it would try to draw him out.The clone stands there yelling up a storm knowing that if this was one of those sound based techniques that would be the easiest way to draw ken out. He stands there looking around when some he drew out the katana ready for anything that ken had to throw at him.

Description: Henge no Jutsu is a ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. Henge allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents. However, it does not grant one the properties of said objects or skills of that person, meaning turning into a weapon will not allow you to cut an opponent and turning into a dog will not give you a great sense of smell.
This technique can also be used in conjunction with someone, who may a person, a pet or a summoning creature, in which case it is called Konbi Henge (Combination Transformation). However, its principles remain the same.
As Ken listened, he heard Kenji jump off where he had been and ran forward, however after a moment of following the sounds of Kenji's footsteps, they stopped. He couldn't hear anything else besides the sound of the small pebbles and sand moving with the breeze. He sighed, the taste of earth flowing through his mouth, and the smell of dirt through his nose. It was refreshing, but wouldn't last. No one wanted to watch a battle between one person and some boulders and pebbles while the other person hid, unreachable.
Nope, he decided to finally do something. He traveled over to behind where he had heard the footsteps stop, and decided to try something. He reached up through the ground suddenly, and tried to grab something, hopefully Kenji, but anything he could reach. However, all he could feel was a boulder, roughly two feet in width and height. So, he rose out of the ground slowly, realizing it wasn't one, but two small boulders. Each were identical, but the thought fell quickly from ken's mind, instead trying to find where Kenji's disappearing act led to.
He looked around, gaze away from the two small boulders, nothing could be special about them, could it? Maybe if he had focused on it, he would realize that they were identical to each other. That it was odd they were right next to each other, side-by-side. That ne of the most basic shinobi techniques, known to man could easily be used to become a small boulder like that, and that everyone in the academy had to learn that very jutsu to even pass to become a genin. No, he hadn't, though if he would've he could have had a chance.
Instead, he looked around the arena, quickly eyeing his opponent, only a small bit away. No, Ken didn't realize that Kenji had reached that place with no sound at all. Not even a shunsin could move that silently, especially not that far. Instead he did something that could have harmed himself, or been helpful. Either way, it didn't stop him. He quickly made two shruiken in his left palm, and then throwing them at his opponent. Watching as they would head for him ,he remembered a time he had once had, even though the flashback was quicker than a blink, it still felt like a bit to Ken.
~Ken was only 6 at this time, and his brother only a little older. Katsuo had just entered the academy, and Ken was extremely fascinated by it. "Brother, if you ever become a chuunin, like mom and dad were when they decided to have you, what would you do?. Ken asked Katsuo, smiling as he did. He was always told by his older brother that he was cute when he was pondering something.~ _________________

With the shuriken flewing away from where he really was i decided to release the transformation jutsu and the clone jutsu. I come back to my regluar hit quickly forming the hand signs for the jutsu fast looking directly into his eyes letting the jutsu work slowing down reaction time of ken by one second making my attacks one second faster. I then make the same seal i made at the begining of the match to vanish in a puff of sand tha conceled my movements as i appear behind him grabbing my katana from its sheath coming down in a downword motion to slash ken in the back in a non fatel wound before i make the seal and vanish again this time moving onto a close boulder.
When i show up on the boulder i hear my fathers voice again when the flashback accured.
Entered Flashback " Kenji my boy you must train harder and faster if you are ever going to reach genin" my father said when i turn around seeing the disappointment in his eyes by my lack of strength and speed." Father i am trying my hardest" i said looking at him with everything i had breathing heavy from the training. "Kenji if you are ever going to prove your worth to this clan you need to be faster" he said. I stand there looking over the sands of the desert when my father returned to the village. change of years Kenji remembered when he enterend the academy when his father still didnt get praise him for anything that he has done. I remembered that there was only one thing in mine when i was in the fighting why i became a ninja of the sand.
I remembered that i was fighting to become stronger in the clan and to become an anbu black ops ninja to protect the Kazekage. Flashback ended I grab three shuriken from my pouch and throw them at ken hoping that one of them was able to hit and that the jutsu was working properly.

Name: Kankaku Gyoutai [Sensory Delay]

Description: This jutsu operates on the principle of "the hand is quicker than the eye", a phrase the user will often say just before activating it. It delays the target's sensory perceptions by one second, making it seem as though time has paused. The pause is only one second long, so it seems as though it never really happened. The user will then continue the battle, but the opponent will think the user is one place, while they were there a full second before. This allows the user to usually get in two or three hits before the target becomes aware of the delay. After this the target might realize it is Genjutsu and use Genjutsu Kai, or they might not realize it and just try to anticipate one second in advance.
Ken sighed as Kenji turned to a puffy white smoke as the shruiken hit. A simple clone that one had been, nothing but a changing of light to look like his opponent. Ken had always thought it funny how genin nowadays had seemed to just plain forgotten about the three academy jutsu, they were actually pretty good if you knew how to use them.
As he did watch the smoke disappear he saw as one of the two small boulders had turned into Kenji. Or rather, Kenji un-transformed from being the small boulder. It was amazing what you could do with the academy jutsu, just like that small trick Kenji had done. Ken looked into his eyes as everything seemed to just stop for a moment. Then after one second everything started moving again. Ken had already felt the cut on his back from a sword, yet Kenji had only just started moving. As he watched, Kenji finally attacked his back, yet no pain had come, it was all rather confusing. Then Kenji disappeared, smoke and sand covering his leave.
As he watched, another nearby boulder had Kenji on it. He watched as Kenji prepared to throw some shruiken at Ken. So, Ken quickly unsheathed 'Honor', one of his favorite swords, one of the last things he remembers from his brother. He then put it in front of him, acting as a small shield from the shruiken that looked like they would come. However as he pulled it up, he felt a pain in his chest, a shruiken it seemed had got him. However, the other two were just sounds, a nice 'clank' when each hit the blade of his katana. Then finally it looked like Kenji was throwing the shruiken, however the first went through his blade and him in the chest, the exact same place as the first feeling of pain came. Then the other two hit his katana, but no sound was made.
It was all rather curious to Ken, who had started to understand. Kenji had used some sort of genjutsu on him, and it seemed to slow his reflexes to where he saw what happened, only after it actually happened. He needed to deactivate it somehow. He knew of only two ways to deactivate a genjutsu. One was using Genjutsu Kai, a skill he did not know, and the other was causing pain to themselves. That or Ken could try to anticipate the attacks from the looks of it.
This was a very good tactic for Kenji, whether he knew it or not. Ken would either try to anticipate his moves anc most likely get hit at least a couple of times before getting the hang of it, though who knew how deadly those hits would be, or he could cause pain to himself. In the case of causing pain, he would not only have pain as a distraction in the battle, but also it could possibly limit him in what he could do. Ken knew what he would do though. Ken quickly took honor in his right hand, and quickly stabbed it into his left palm. A warm, red liquid, flowed down his palm and all the way to his elbow, there it started gaining into a small ball, and then started dripping.
The pain had been terrible, but Ken knew he couldn't dare wait to calm down and get it together. Instead he quickly ripped the bottom part of his shirt off, and used it to bandage his left hand. He then looked up, and smiled as he realized that it had worked. What he saw was what was there, and it felt good again. The pain in his left hand would limit his abilities, mostly by causing pain whenever using it, but also by the bandage, making it harder to hold onto things without grips. He quickly formed handseals, his face showing the pain in making them as he quickly sunk underground.
He needed another moment to calm down and try to ease the pain. He walked a little closer to the boulder he had last seen Kenji on, but then sat down, loosening the bandage so it would stay on and stop the blood, but also help by lessening the pain. He hadn't realized how tight he had made it until he loosened it, sighing to himself as he did. He knew he couldn't stay under here, no he would have to go up and fight if he had any chance of winning.
So he crawled closer to the coulder, 'Honor' still in his right hand. He crawled until he was a meter behind the boulder, there he came up from the ground, his eyes quickly adjusting back to the light of the day. He did not wait more than a mere second though before he was running, over to Kenji, he wanted to make sure the crowd knew he had what it took. He jumped into the air, twisting the beautiful sword in his hand, as to reflect the sun's light into his opponents eyes if he was too look. As he would reach Kenji, he would have been ending his great leap, he would bring his sword down quickly, a nice slash down, increasing it's potential with the added bonus of descending from his jump. After that he would land on the boulder, and quickly swing upwards, using his legs to push up for momentum. Smiling he would then try to slashes, one from Kenji's right to his lefy around the chest, and then left to right towards the belly. _________________

I stood there and watched as ken injuried his hand wanting to escape my jutu. “I thought that would work for longer” I said knowing that Ken had something up his sleeve. I watched as ken made the hand signs again this time I was able to see what he did. I watched as he went into the ground and out of my sight. < he must be trying to get me from below > I thought when the sand shot up into the air behind me with ken already coming down with a slash to my back. With the pain hitting me I quickly make a hand sign forming a clone and making another one to switch my body with a small boulder.
When one of the other two slashes hit the clone it turns into a small boulder from near by. I come running in with my katana unsheathed going for an attack with a downward slashes into the center of kens back. < I don’t know if this is going to work all that well but I have to make Chuunin by any means > I thought knowing that ken was a formidable opponent when I move my sword around to my back sticking it into the sand standing up when I have formed the hand sign for my next trick. Running through the sands of the area I jump up vanishing to appear back in front of ken when I quickly form all of the hand signs when I look back at ken in his eyes showing the white from my clans eyes. “ the hand is quicker then the eye” I said hoping that I have trapped him in my jutsu again.
I quickly moved up to ken bringing a kick out towards his gut before I move around. I form the hand seal again before I deactivated my clans eyes when I vanish to be on a boulder. < this is going to be hard to finish this battle > I thought knowing that the exams was going to test me on how I am in a battle. I remember something like this that my father had done as a genin when he was here. < That’s it I fight like my father but have the intelligence of my mother > I thought running after my katana. _________________ Mouken

As Ken watched, his initial strike hit, the one from the jump had been successful. As he watched, the other two had not however, instead the others had hit small pebbles. Then from behind he heard the attack coming, he decided to pull a trick out of his sleeve. One that would seem dim-witted, but from what he had guessed, would greatly help. As the attack came, he quickly closed his eyes as he turned around, blocking the strike from the man. As the man said the phrase, Ken wondered what he had meant, but put the thought aside for now. Next came a quick, he had anticipated another strike to come, and quickly did a front-flip over Kenji. Then he heard the sand fall to the ground.
He opened his eyes back up and looked around, Kenji was on a boulder, his sword on the ground. Kenji's katana was right next to Ken now, and it seemed Kenji was running after it. Ken smiled as he realized what was going on. Kenji had attempted the genjutsu again, but had to use his hands so he threw the sword behind him, but he must have forgotten about it with his shunsin. Ken just stood there, his sword in his hand, ready to defend or strike at any time.
