Background: Ukyo and Kurohane's first meeting was rather weird. After the ninja has become a vampire, the bat just came to him. It followed him everywhere it was safe, and would always rejoin the ninja after he left a human settlement. At first it made Ukyo wary, then it was annoying him, but in the end he decided it was a vampire thing and began interacting with the bat. They have become partners since then, and Ukyo would often use Kurohane to deliver some mail.

Let's see, for weaknesses, bats can't take much damage, they are blind, they function poorly in open spaces, they are nocturnal, and therefore fight poorly during the day. For an added strength they use sonar to detect nearby objects.

I wouldn't say blindness is a weakness because they can coordinate perfectly using sonar, which isn't a strength either. Functioning poorly in open spaces is not quite correct, otherwise bats wouldn't be able to live in forests (since they fly over the tree tops and that's a lot of open space). About fighting - how dangerous a bat is? Practically harmless, absolutely harmless for a human.
