Sorry for the post, but this needs to stop. This event is getting massacred because people want to bring about assumptions about Genjutsu. Just let it happen!! You don't need a trigger, and nothing was ever implied that the bug of the Genjutsu was what triggered that Genjutsu that Masa keeping bringing into the picture. That spot was just where the creater decided to start the Genjutsu over for effect in the anime. Nothing is really known about Genjutsu other than it is the illusional form of Ninjutsu which is much harder to cast. The last thread about Genjutsu should not have even been closed without having a proper understanding about what was going on, so it needs to be readdressed because it is taking away fun. We don't use triggers. If you suck at Genjutsu, you suck at seeing through it. You are at a BIG disadvantage againt is and the question of needing a trigger should not even be brought into the picture. Let's just rp it like it is, illusional ninjutsu. If you need a trigger, the world is the trigger. We have never had a problem with it before, and we don't need it now. Itr is bad enough anyone can learn Kai and Genjutsu Break, we don't need godmodding through it aswell.

*slaps both of them* Genjutsu REQUIRES some kind of "trigger" to it in order for it to take effect. They've explained this in BOTH the Manga AND Anime. Problem solved! No more about how Genjutsu is triggered or how it works!

If it must become such an issue, then just have genjutsu requiring a stated way to enter it (trigger). The obvious ones are sound, and uchiha's eye contact, though this is stated. The less obvious ones that aren't stated will always be complained about. No one wants to get hit by anyone's attack, and avoidance is always going to come up. What is the rule, don't just say your attack hits, allow the other person to decide. Just rp your trigger, and make it in a way so that it is hard to miss.

And just being able to use Kai without a good reason should never be accepted. If your stuck in a genjutsu you shouldn't be able to use kai at all actually, though you can force yourself awake by some other means too.

Good Lord.... ~_~ I'm going to kill all of you, except for Nobody, because he got it right.... Here are ways to trigger Genjutsu:

Visual- Must look into opponent's eyes.
Audible- Opponent must hear it.
Chakra distortion- User literally distorts the opponent's Chakra flow, either inside of them or around them, in some way.
Smell- Self-explanitory.
Feeling- Self-explanitory.
Taste- Self-explanitory.

Get it now? As far as "Genjutsu Kai" goes, it only works up to B-Rank Genjutsu, so anything above that won't dispell it. The opponent just can't say "Oh, I'm in a Genjutsu, so I'll use 'Genjutsu Kai'!" If they don't have it, then they'll need to know how to dispell it. There's a few ways to do it:

1. Some kind of pain to the body that actually makes them bleed (stabbing, biting, etc.)
2. Channel Chakra all around to "defeat" user's Chakra flow.
3. Disrupt target's Chakra flow by channeling some of your Chakra flow into their Chakra flow.

And, yes, this WAS explained in both the Manga and Anime. Jiraiya explained it to Naruto in the Manga when he was fighting against Itachi (though it wasn't actually him). Enough said. Any other questions about this topic, take it to PM's. LOCKED!
