Chapter IV: Part III. On The Precipice of DarknessTime flies in the lands of shinobi. Some rise to power, some are dethroned and killed.
The ninja villages remained at peace during the several months since the 9th Hokage was appointed. Itichi Zieg finally stepped down from his position as the Otokage, first leaving it to Zarn, and then to Reileyn, who both shared his blood. Ky Inuzuka had been sighted around the village, only to disappear again, while the other villages remained without change. Nobody seemed to want bloodshed, yet it was inevitable.
It was during the Chuunin Exams that an old beast of great power was awakened. Released by none other than Inuzuka Tamotsu, the Ten-Tailed Dragon wreaked havoc in Fire Country, taking thousands of lives. The one guilty of this was recovered and taken back to the Leaf, where swift judgment awaited him at the hands of the current Hokage. However, living up to their reputation, the Kages of three other villages interfered in the matter without knowing anything and assaulted the Tachibana, who managed to drive them off. Unfortunately, at the same time, the Ten-Tails captured Inuzuka Tamotsu for reasons unknown and took him away. The Ten-Tails had not been seen since, but it is still alive.
While Konoha was slowly recovering from the beast's attack, the other shinobi villages started reinforcing their fortifications in fear of the great dragon, yet soon afterwards, Uchiha Katsuga, the Mizukage, had been assassinated by unknown attackers. Almost at the same time, the Hokage and Itichi Zarn, an ambassador from the Hidden Sound, came to forge an alliance with the Mist, only to discover the new Mizukage - Ozanaru Syra. It had also been rumored that Inuzuka Tamotsu had been granted full pardon and is currently taking more students (to maim) under his wing.
There had been little to no movement in the other countries, except for the recent Jounin Exams in Earth Country. People say that the old bandit city, located somewhere off the shores of the continent, is being rebuilt. However, no solid evidence supports that fact as of yet.
