Description: This jutsu operates on the principle of "the hand is quicker than the eye", a phrase the user will often say just before activating it. It delays the target's sensory perceptions by one second, making it seem as though time has paused. The pause is only one second long, so it seems as though it never really happened. The user will then continue the battle, but the opponent will think the user is one place, while they were there a full second before. This allows the user to usually get in two or three hits before the target becomes aware of the delay. After this the target might realize it is Genjutsu and use Genjutsu Kai, or they might not realize it and just try to anticipate one second in advance.
IC: Alanna walked into the training grounds with two academy students following close behind. They were experienced students, not far from graduating, but would serve her purpose well due to their worshipfulness of the headband she wore at her waist. Both students were male and not much younger than she, yet they were a good six inches taller. Which was ok with her.
She took out the scroll and motioned the two students to get some warm-ups in while she read the scroll that would teach her this jutsu. they complied, and she set to memorizing everything from the hand seals to the theory behind it. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

She read it over twenty times before rolling it back up, not wanting a repeat of the last jutsu she tried to learn on her own. That disaster had humbled her a bit, though she may not remain so if she succeeded here. This was a combat Genjutsu. It was meant to assist people fighting in close combat, which was her speciality. She could beat most other genin when it came to speed and agility, something the muscle-bound morons couldn't understand.
She practiced the hand seals absently as she watched the two boys do some light sparring. They were both taijutsu types, and both were top of their class in that area. She smiled as she advanced on them. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

"Alright, boys," she said, stepping between them and causing them to jump back in defense. They apparently had good reflexes too. "We are going to have a little competition here. The first one of you to hit me gets a kiss. Begin!" She remembered thinking to herself that it wouldn't be so bad if they succeeded, as both were far from ugly, but that's all the thought she had time for as they came at her from both sides. She simply had to wait for the proper opening to present itself before trying the jutsu, though that might cost her. Alanna deftly picked off the first two attacks, ducking the punch and chopping the kick aside. She then swept her foot all the way around, forcing them both to back up again. Another pair of attacks came, a little more in time with each other now, and she picked them both off yet again. This time, though, she struck out at only one of them, a quick sternum-kick that sent him reeling, giving her time to dive into a roll away from the other's attack.
They were both in front of her now, and she took advantage of it, forming the seals for the jutsu and focusing chakra. Only, nothing happened. It was a failed attempt, and she felt the start of a headache. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

She knew the headache for what it was: over-straining her chakra control. She had a bit more practicce to do before she could work this jutsu correctly.
"Hold!" she commanded them, and they stopped in their tracks. "I must meditate for a while, so you two go back to sparring. We will resume the contest when I am ready to try this jutsu again." She had told them she was going to try a jutsu on them, but they still seemed shocked at that fact. Still, the promise of the competition resuming was too much for them to ignore, horny young teenagers as they were, and they went back to their own little spar, affording her the space she needed. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

She sat upon her rock, trying to find the most uncomfortable position in order to make the meditatino harder. Once that was done, she went through her basic exercises, picturing her chakra flows as water in a series of inter-connecting rivers. She imagined the flows speeding and slowing them throughout her body, responding to gentle prodding of her will. She slowly built up the willpower she used to do this, and eventually she was sending the flows all the way through her body at full speed. It was difficult to keep it up, but she managed nicely, and as she did so she felt greater control coming to her. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

She stood up, feeling her forehead and giving a surprised start when her hand came away glistening with sweat. She hadn't realized just how much energy she had expended while doing her exercises, and she felt a little drained, but she was as ready as ever to use the jutsu. So, after practicing the seals a few more times and getting them perfect, she called to the two students to resume the competition. And, being who they were, they happily obliged with a pair of running drop-kicks. Easily predictable and impossible to redirect, she used Suna Shunshin no Jutsu to disappear in a flurry of sand and reappear across the field. _________________ Mizunaka Alanna

"Come on, boys!" she yelled at them as they got up adn spotted her, flipping her hair teasingly and licking her lips to wet them. "I'm beginning to think you like each other more than you like me!"
That really got them going. They both advanced quickly, though they slowed when they got within fifty feet. They may be hot heads, but they weren't stupid. They knew she was too quick for an easy hit now, and they circled around, one to each side of her, as they came in cautiously. She silently congratulated them on thinking up the most likely winning tactics, but she kept focused as they came in...

"Time to lose," she said, and they predictably swung their heads around to look at her. That was the beginning of the end. She formed the seals quickly, looking them both in the eye, and there was a slight pause for them, though not enough to cause suspicion since they weren't moving. The jutsu worked, and Alanna felt the familiar surge of chakra go into it. Then the fun began.
She came in hard, striking each one in turn and repeatedly. They couldn't seem to figure out how her attacks were so easily getting through their practiced guards so easily, or why their guards were hitting nothing. When she thought she had beaten them up enough, she released the jutsu. "I guess you both lose," she said casually, then walked away.
