No custom brushes or C4ds required.

1) Select a render for your signature. I will be using the following:

2) Open up a new layer and pick your dimensions. I use 400x150 for all of mine.

3) Most renders are too large and must be shrunken down to fit inside the canvas. Before doing so, create a new layer and paste the enlarged render inside to create a background. Then use Filter > Blur > Blur a 4-6 times.

4) Shrink down your render to an appropriate size, create a new layer, and paste it into a good location.

(NOTE: Try duplicating the render layer and selecting the top one. Then set it to either Overlay or Screen and adjust the opacity)

5) Duplicate the layer with your render inside, and select the bottom layer. Pick the Smudge tool and select the Vines brush, and begin smudging around the render. Set it to divide, screen, overlay, or whatever looks good. Duplicate the smudged layer if it is not visible enough.

6) Create a new layer at the very top of your list. Go to Edit > Copy Visible, and then Edit > Paste (followed by Layer > Anchor Layer). Use the free select tool to select the background (everything on the canvas besides your render) Sometimes it is faster to just free select the render itself, then go to Select > Invert. Change your foreground and background colors (listed below) then go to Colors > Map > Gradient Map. Now change the layer mode to Overlay, Hue, Color, or anything else that may look appeasing.

Foreground (Blue) Background (Green) is what I used here, set to overlay with a lowered opacity. Red and Yellow blend well, but any other colors can be mixed. Use the color picker tool to select colors from your render as well.

7) Create a new layer (Follow the Copy Visible, Paste step from #6) and change your fore and background to black. Choose the gradient tool and drag it across your entire canvas, causing it to be completely filled black. Go to Filter > Light and Shadow > Lighting Effects. Select the "Light" tab and change the type to "Directional." Place it in a good spot for a lighting effect, and set the layer to Overlay with a lowered opacity.

8 ) Create a new layer. (Follow the Copy Visible, Paste step from #6) Now create another new layer above it, but leave it transparent. Take the vines or sparks brush and mess brush around (I use the vine brush to distort the render itself, and the sparks brush for the background)

Now click the little Eye icon on the brushed layer to hide it, and select the layer you made earlier below it. Go to Filters > Map > Displace and choose the brush layer.

9) For your border, create a new layer at the top and leave it transparent. Change your foreground color to white and choose Select > All, followed by Edit > Stroke selection. Make the line width 6 and click Stroke. Now change your foreground color to black, go to Edit > Stroke selection but lower the width to 4, and hit stroke. Finally, change the foreground back to white, go to Edit > Stroke selection, change the width to 2 and hit stroke. Set the layer to Overlay.

10) If you have the available room left, or negative space you would want filled, putting in text may be a good option. The background color is important to look out for. Putting black text on a black background would make it unreadable, so you would choose white. Or, if it fits well, select a dominant color on your signature to use for the font color.

You are supposed to hide the layer with the vine/sparks brush marks.
