A thin bead of sweat, streaked down Zarn's skin; meandering it's way from his brow, until it finally fell to the floor. It had been a long journey, the young man hadn't truly rested in the past few days; he was exhausted. It wasn't until he was leaning agaisnt one of the tall, imposing oak trees of the forest that his scenes began to hone to their usual state. As his breathing slow, his heairng sharpened, which was when he heard the pattering of foot steps, no more than a few hundred meters away.

He scanned, dragging his eyes slowly across the darkness of the forest, I can't see a thing. Not letting a sound break his lips, Zarn began to stride through the trees, following the noise. Sure, it would be commonly thought that following a strange noise through the forest would be a bad idea, chances are it would be a Konoha ANBU on patrol. The difference being, Zarn hopped it was.

As he made his way through the tree line, into another area of the forest; identical to the one he'd just came from, a sharp noise filled the air. It had been like a rusteling in the grass, as if someone had come to a halt, or made some kind of exagurated movment. Another step forward, yet this time, it was one step too many. Zarn's foot had come down on twig, breaking it.

A gentle sigh broke through his lips, he was disappointed in himself. Where the he.., but his thought was interrupted as a soft creak echoed above him. Craning his neck back, Zarn spotted someone, high up in the tress. "It's rude to spy, and weak to hide", Zarn called out, his voice thick with power and authority; loud enough to be heard by whomever it was.

" Hide? Quite the contrary," A voice responded from the melded layers of the trees. His voice was not as loud, or as deep but it carried a depth that repelled power. " I am revealed in this darkness, more than I was in the light. Nothing short of this utter black could have revealed what I have learned. I am no spy. I do not need to see what I can find out on my own. You and I are both revealed in the darkness; I only need to look upon your true form to see everything.

" If you were referring to the inability to see me than you do not need to worry. I am not interested in attacking or inhibiting you. You may continue on your path and I will continue on mine."

He stepped down from his branch into a lower one, attempting to get a better footing position. His weight was too much for the poor beast; the branch groaned and snapped. He tumbled down, landing a graceful but loud landing. It was near impossible for anyone but a deafened person to have missed his exact location. " So it must be," He whispered.

A small smile broke over Zarn's features as he listened the other young man speak, Finally, an enlightened soul in this god-forsaken place. As the unknown voice silenced, Zarn waited for a moment, before calling back out into the darkness of the abyss; "You seem to be one of the few that understand darkness." Pausing in his speech for a moment, the young shinobi chuckled slightly, more to himself than anything, "Perhaps you understand that the Darkness, really isn't that dark after all."

Before he could get a response, he heard a groan, followed by a sharp crack. It was similar to that caused by the twig Zarn had stepped on only moments ago, simply louder. A soft patter filled the air, feet landing on the ground. A soft flash of light filled the space were Zarn had once been, instantly re-appearing by the source of the noise.

He dragged his eyes slowly over the young man, whom Zarn had materialized behind. He was clad like a shinobi; or atleast, some variant there of. Yet the thing that snagged Zarn's interest, was the lack of a Forehead-Protector. "A lone Shinobi, this close to Konohagakure?", he paused, "Where exactly is your path leading you?".

" I am not a shinobi; my path has lead me here. I came in search of a purpose, like you have yours. This forest, disillusioned from the heavy darkness that coats us now, has granted me knowledge. Now that I know my purpose I can enact what I was meant to do with all of my energy and faith. We have similar purposes; we both are looking to shed the world of the lies that it holds. Do well in your endeavour and I will do well in mine."

He turned away, walking at a quick pace toward the faint glow of the walled village. He made no effort to hide himself now; the swish of branches, the cracking of twigs, the soft rustle of leaves left a trail of sound that followed him into the woods.

The smile over the Zarn's face held it's place as the other man spoke of his purpose; surprised at how remarkably similar it was to his. The only questions that now plagued through Zarn's mind, what is his method of choice? Without saying anything in reply, he watched the other man walk off, heading towards the village.

Standing very still, leaning his frame lightly against a large, solid oak, he listened to the trail of noise left by the boy, which he assumed was left on purpose. As the noise began to fade; Zarn vanished in a dim flash of light. He re-appeared a few meters ahead of what he predicted the other mans path to be. Glancing to his left, Zarn could make out the individual bricks of the wall, they were almost at the tree line. If either of the pair precoded even another few meters, they would be spotted by the wall-guards.

"We have established our paths, we have established our starting locations. So, I have but two more questions for you." There was a moments pause, "The first of which being; how do you intend to reach the end of your path?". To be honest, Zarn doubted that he would receive an answer, but he kept faith in that fact that if he did; it would be honest.

" I intend to reach the end of my path with dignity. I know that I am to die, and I will do it with honour and integrity. That is more than I can say of others. I will be betrayed by the people who I have saved, and I will accept that; I will be called the villain, and I will take the blame if they need to hate something. If anything, their hate for me will grow into a better world for them once I pass away. There is not much more to say, besides I have accepted death."

The wall ahead of him had appeared much quicker than he had expected; it would be too much difficulty to scale it. He would have to backtrack and find another route; it was more preferable to be walking in the forest, anyhow. The quiet would allow him to gather his thoughts again. There was so much planning to be done in such a short amount of time.

Zarn remained still, impassive; listening to the speech as the wind rustled through the shrubs around them. The speech had been similar to what Zarn had expected; He understands the path to cleansing and uniting a society. Impressive.

Leaning forward with his weight, Zarn lifted his body from the tree. Looking up to the walls of the village, he analyzed the guards before him, as he spoke. "It seems that you understand, that for a society to improve as a collective, the rotted remnants of past orders must be cleansed." Zarn paused slightly, considering his words. He didn't want to reveal too much of his intentions; incase he had misread his companion.

"What you say is true enough; the easiest way to unite a new realm of society, is to give them something which they can unite over; such as common enemy. For example, the person who caused the destruction, which lead to rise of the improved society in the first place." Again, Zarn paused as he sighed slightly; "The only problem is that there is no guarantee that the new society will be an improvment on the old. But at the very least, it shall be different."

He stared up at the wall, dark eyes absorbing the brightness of the lights that lined the highest points of the massive structure. It was a wall that kept out people for years; it was thought to protect the people, but soon it would be a cage for the desperate villagers.

" It will improve. Every move I make will prevent another foolish move, and once the game is over the board will be set as I desire. Change can be forced but small change is what is needed; the small stone that I throw will leave everlasting ripples in society's ocean. I will be forgotten in time; I will pass on my ideals to all those who will listen. Destruction for the sake of destruction will do nothing; death for the sake of death will do nothing.

" We need purpose to our actions; motives to create justification. Without that, we are pawns to the chaos of war. With it, we will become creatures who are not just swimming against the current, but outright removing it. Every second that is passing by, I understand more and more what I was fated to do. I am to change the world, and change the hearts of men. I am to die in the name of change. Most would fear such life, but I welcome it.

" I must go. There is only a few hours before dawn."

Zarn inclined his head slightly as he listened to the boy. Simply staring up at the dark walls for a time, before fixing his attention to the sky, gazing at the moon as the words played through his mind. It had been months since he had parted with Ukyo, on less than polite circumstances; but even so, he had not intended to begin a move against Konoha this quickly. Yet the way the man spoke, he was persuasive. Part of Zarn knew there was a chance the man was simply trying to manipulate him; he didn't care. Along as he would be able to achieve his goal, he was content.

Nodding slightly at the phrase of dawn approaching, Zarn spoke again; "We have similar goals; perhaps they can be achived via the same method". He paused his his speech, breaking his gaze away from the glowing moon which cast it's like over the area; "Let my help you"
