It was a year to the day since Sakumo's true past had come to light in the wake of an attack by the lingering remnants of the weakened Itichi clan. But it had taken the youth this long to be able to bring himself to actually look through the information that had been left to him by his parents, he was shocked by the bloody and violent history of his clan, yet even more shocking was the power and strength of its members. One man was mentioned in the documents more than anyone else; Itichi Zieg, Otokage at a time when the Sound village fended off attack from rest of the ninja world. Sakumo balled his hand to a fist "It...Explains alot" He said to himself slowly.

The abilities and strengths of the clan were wide and varied, all showed natural genius in the art of the shinobi, easily grasping the basic jutsu and even the more advanced techniques. All Itichi seemed to have incredibly durable bodies, it has been noted that they can heal small wounds in a matter of seconds and that they show a natural skill in brawls, simply outclassing others of their own level. Sakumo's eyes now rapidly darted back and forth accross a large sheet of parchment as he went, the Itichi clan itself had always been small it seems but they were said to be able to overrun whole villages with just a few of their number.

The true strength of the clan however, that which set them apart from all others was their bloodline limit. The Riyukous eye. Sakumo's eyes slowed down a=now as he reached this, his brow creased and he read carefully "A...Doujutsu?" He said, dumbfounded and continued to read the parchment.

~The Itichi clan is set apart in the shinobi world by the bloodline trait shared by all members.
The Riyukous eye.
This doujutsu serves to increase the strengths of the Itichi.
Genjutsu cast by them become more believable and genjutsu used against them are dispelled instantly.
The eye allows the Itichi to instantly analyze the movement and trajectory of any object...

Sakumo halted his reading for a second and rubbed his eyes, they were beginning to ache in this dim light.

The genin sighed as he rubbed his eyes in an attmept to alleviate the ache, he wished the candle was brighter so his eyes wouldn't have to suffer, but there was little he could do and so he returned to reading.

...Which enables them to act one step ahead of any potential opponent, effectively allowing them to see the future.
The Riyukous eye manifests itself in three stages, all with highly differing results.
Stage one; The Itichi's eyes turn from their usual dark crimson to pure white with a single triangular 'tomoe' around the pupil...

At this stage the Itichi gains the aforementioned ability to predict the movements and trajectory of another object or shinobi.
Stage two also allows the Itichi to see through middle-level genjutsu instantly...

Sakumo gritted his teeth, why had his parents never told him anything of his heritage? They had said in the letter that there was little choice but of course there must have been! Was it not his right to know his history, where he came from?

Stage three; The final and most powerful manifestation of the Itichi clan doujutsu.
Only a select few members of the clan have unlocked this level of the Riyukous and those that have became some of the most powerful ninja to walk the world.
With this stage of the doujutsu the Itichi's pure white eyes now have three triangular 'tomoe' surrounding each pupil.
Also the Itichi gains the ability to capture an opponent in any genjutsu simply through eye contact and all but the most powerful genjutsu can be instantly dispelled by the eye, reinforcing the Itichi's claim as the most powerful genjutsu users in the world...

Sakumo became more and more interested as he read, the Itichi clan was at the top of the ninja world at one point, descendants of the Gods, everyone was forced to acknowledge their power as they lay siege to the entire world. But then, suddenly the clan disappeared, any remaining members had likely been killed when Otogakure was destroyed by unknown forces. Strange, the genin thought, that the Itichi relinquished their hold on the world. Sakumo was distracted from his thoughts as his eyes reached a new and more interesting point of the parchment; how to activate the Riyukous.

To activate the Riyukous eye, the Itichi will channel a small amount of chakra into their eyes.
At which point the strength of their chakra will determine which stage of the eye they unlock.

Sakumo rested the parchment down on the small desk before him with his crimson eyes wide open, was it possible? Could he truly be a member of this prestigious clan? Did he, Sakumo Takahashi really have the potential to rise to the same level of strength as the infamous Otokage Itichi Zieg? The genin trembled slightly at the thought of such power and breathed hard as he rose to his feet "I suppose...There's only one way to really find out..." he said slowly as his chakra began to swirl. Sakumo closed his eyes as his chakra passed into them, the second he opened his eyelids he could instantly tell something had changed. The room he was stood in was now bright! He could actually look around without the assitance of the candle, the genin laughed disbelievingly and rushed through his house to a mirror which hung in the hallway. Staring into the glass he saw the pure white eyes of the Itichi clan staring back at him, it seems he really was a true Itichi.
