To be truthful, the picture displays the following to me: regret, hope, and confusion.

Her eyes look almost as if she's remembering the death of someone close or regretting something she's done. I would say they are at a heart beat from being scared.

But on the flip side of that, I see hope for something more. It almost looks like she is waiting for something and has seen something that may be for better or for worse.

Confusion, in how she is holding her weapon and in how her mouth is open. The arm that's holding her weapon seems tense. Its like she was about to do something important and than stopped. And then her other arm is lowered to reveal she is comfortable but is a little too relaxed for battle. Her lips are parted, but in conjunction with the eyes, its slightly confusing for me to get an actual read from it. Its almost if she is forcing her smile... I got it.. She's about to meet some one she doesn't like but has some power over her...

I got, she's about to meet Masakado... Awesome... XD
