(first person as Kishi)

Sitting their in thought below the great tree’s of konoha. Drifting away in the memory of an old legend. The rational mind would consider it foolish to chase after such a thing, even if only for the stimulation of the mind. However I am far from rational and hope to never be. Such a boring state that is limited by what can be seen. It’s suppose  to work by being objective, but with out the ability to have faith in legends, you will never find the truth behind them. So much of the worlds mysteries will never be explained to a closed mind. Something that rationality claims not to be, but in essence is the father of such a state.

My reminiscence was of the three tigers of the world. They were each a breed of creatures stronger than most, capable of destroying much, and when unified destroyed a large portion of the continent. It took place in the area where Otogakura now exists. Back then It was a strong nation that prospered quiet well but then this happened. The rice country never recovered, and it is thought much more of the world would have been caught in their carnage. However a enchanter or something of the sort appeared with a powerful blade made of the spirit instead of a physical form. He pierced each of the tigers and placed them in a scroll. To add to their humiliation he placed a spell or Jutsu upon them that they must obey anyone able to summon them from it. To do so they would have to have and incredible will and physical ability to stand it.

Unlike other summoning that just required the chakra to summon them, this one required a constant battle or struggle with the beasts within and once conquered were the eternal bond servants of that being until they died. It is thought the monk wished to wield them and it brought about his death. Along with that death the scroll and his blade was lost in the pages of history.

It is thought they were lost in the dark forest that I train in so often. However I never looked for it or had an urge to. At least not until recently. Now it felt like a strong calling. It seemed like every time I had a calling like this, something of interest happened to me. Perhaps I was being called by the spirits of the world unseen and soon I would be spirited away. Of coarse I would have to wait until the purpose they have for me has been completed. Hopefully that day will never come to me. This world has so much left for me to understand in my own twisted way of madness. From the demon within me that drives me like a wild beast. I cant wait tell all has been seen, and known that is of worth. Then I can go to that place they desire me to be at a later time.

Finishing my constant overview of thought it was time to begin. Knowing those woods better than any creature that exists in the world of today, I will find that scroll. Using everything I’ve learned so far and the will to never give in, I might complete my quest.

Slowly I moved through the woods attempting to look for anything different. The area known as the Dark Forest was only a couple miles but thick with underbrush and it might take me days to find, that is if I find it. I wondered how long it would take for me to even find any sign of something from so long ago. That would make since as to why it was considered a legend. “hair vines” I felt eight strands of my hair move from me and stretch out as I desired. “Chakra hair rope” With this I would have a mobile technique used to bind people and not applied to find something.

My hair searched through the woods like a snake hunting for its next meal. Checking every crevice in the area that surrounded me. Of coarse my range was limited, So this would have to be several times. Then I felt something off to my right, that was a bit larger than what I’ve had so far. Pulling chakra out of my hair I made it retract to bring back a piece of clothing. It was a large coat that was torn down by age. The fact it still remained was surprising as fungus broke down anything it could in this place. With the canopy closed it was the perfect place for such organisms to live.

I knelt down to pick it up and look at it, The style was strange to me and not of a shinobi. Perhaps one of the smaller villages around here that I have not met had a beloved brother loose himself in the woods, like I did so long ago.

Still no luck with any of my other directions. Nothing other than the natural feel of the woods was around it. In turn I retracted them all and knelt down on all fours smelling for any thing that was out of the ordinary. The strangest sent came from the direction of the jacket. I smiled at that for some reason, maybe I would find the original owner of that jacket and be able to drain them of life giving liquid.

Slowly I moved and went with out making a sound. Tracking like this was common for me. Keeping myself out of a line of site and making it easier to travel through the thick brush. I was quiet effective at it as well but not at the same level of my Inuzaka cousins. Letting no vibration carry from me as I activated the leaf walk, that came with my bloodline. Now I could not be heard and for the most part not seen or smelt, except by the exceptionally alert.

Then I paused and listened, I heard nothing and smelt nothing. That was strange because the woods were filled with pollen of plants, and the stench of dead animals. Complete silence was also uncommon, because the birds always played their beautiful songs, and all the creatures of the wood were use to my presence. Even if I was in a new area, that wouldn’t explain the absence of smell. Perhaps I was in a genjutsu of sorts, but that wasn’t possible because I would have noticed someone before they activated it, Maybe I had been in one this entire time. That could explain the reason why people fear this forest so much. Maybe their was a creature or being that used Genjutsu and was very skilled at it. 72

I started to smile at such an idea. If it was true this was going to become a very entertaining day for me. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw an shadow move. It was quick and I almost missed it, Then out of that area to my mirrored side came four kunai. I Turned my body to just expose my side and protect it with my arm while leaving the other side open. Just as I did two kunai pierced into my arm on the other side, I smelt the blood but only for an instant and then It was gone. I was wondering how this could happen though. Looking at my mirror the kunai’s came and should have hit me in my left arm not, my right. They pierced in the exact same area, and pain to myself removed me from the genjutsu for a moment. With that much gathered I knew Kai wouldn’t break me of this genjutsu. I have good Chakra control but not the skill to adjust my chakra in a way to remove this genjutsu with out placing myself under one of my own or creating one that I didn’t know existed.

The Kunai’s I felt in my arm on the right side appeared to be in my left arm still. Strange, maybe my eye’s were playing tricks on me in a different way. Then I had an epiphany. My hair armor was still on and a normal kunai wouldn’t be able to pierce it. That meant even the pain I felt and the smell I had was a genjutsu as well. What an interesting technique to have. “I wonder if it saw me training?” I  knew he couldn’t trust his eyes, and my falcon couldn’t communicate with him so that was out as well. “fine…Fuck it” Kishi Performed hand seals for his newest jutsu, Web of hair entrapment.

My hair grew out beside me in all directions and stayed as a thin layer, Then it overlapped and entangled it’s self in to a tightly nit net that resembled a spiders web. The chakra channeling through it and creating a stickiness that bind the opponent. The rocks and leafs were attacked and created a form of camouflage. Some of it tangled around tree’s and plants, Under and over boulders. Everything within a fifteen meter radius was going to be bound except for myself of coarse.

Now came the next step in my ploy. Closing my eyes but the genjutsu was still seen and Couldn’t be escaped, however I had enough knowledge to know my opponent would be caught. If he was close enough to activate a genjutsu he would be within in the 15 meter range or very near it. Then if the kunai’s that were tossed were real then he would be closer than that, making the target completely at my mercy, except for on the minds edge.

“Kai” I knew if my opponent was trapped he could remove the genjutsu and not worry about being sucked into another one. As the vision removed I could smell, and hear again. No longer in a state of the mind. Looking around I saw the being. It was a old man who resembled a hermit. Having a large rice hat, and sandals. Also carrying a cane sword. His hair was grey and his beard was long. Wrinkles covered his body and he was trembling. Attempting to free himself from the web but it wasn’t working.

“that was a nice show old man, but what were you thinking…” I snickered. “don’t you know I’m an animal and can’t wait to drink your iron filled blood?….after all the sword was baptized in blood and now you will see why I was as well.” I did a hand seal and produced two hair vines. They both went forward and wrapped around his arms, then started to tug, until they were out of the socket. The old man would have screamed if he wasn’t bound. Then I used the sharp tips to slowly cut at the man. Making his blood pore out in a slow manner. Starting with the already damaged arms. Slicing across the chest and watching the blood seep out. Then the stomach, and back. So far he had been cut over 100 times and he was still alive some how. I knew the man couldn’t go any where so I  released my chakra bind, so I could hear the screams. Then I started cutting at the man once more. “STOP IT” The man screamed for his life as all the pain from the last several minutes was exploding out of him. “why would I do that?” I replied. 121
“I know what you came for and I think your worthy of having it but you still have a ways to go. If you can find that scroll, It’s yours and this forest will truly belong to you. For with in comes a will to this parcel of land from so long ago.” Then the old man paused and stared at me. “just do the pleasure of killing me fast”. I smiled and nodded as a symbol of accepting the terms. Then I thrust my two hair vines into him and watched as he faded away in an instant

My body trembled with excitement knowing that my goal would soon be completed. Then filled with joy from slaying the man and his blood being cast down upon the floor of this forest that would soon belong to me. Of coarse it always had because I never allowed anyone to come here, with out a fight. Now I would have a place to set up my home, where my many methods of torture could be found.

Then the thought occurred to me, what if that scroll is on his person or in his supplies that the brought with him. Walking over I stared at the ravished body and called in the many hairs I released to do the web jutsu that I defeated him with. Enjoying that all the rocks and such would soon be removed from me. I hated it when my hair was dirty

Finally I searched the body. Moving the clothes off and checking the pockets. All of it to no avail. Then I flipped him over and saw his back pack had several compartments and I would have to go through each one individually. As I started I found the most basic of equipment. Simple tools for eating and cooking. Then It was clothing, and tools to make fire. Then I found a book, I opened it up and started to read but seemed to be just a diary of the woods. Then a paper fell out and it had the title to the land that I’ve hunted in for so long. "the holder of this dead is the owner of a two thousand acre area in the woods of konoha, at the east of the open plains. Their on that border from tree to tree back a ways is the boundaries of that land." I read allowed.

“I cant’ wait” I was being sarcastic since I’ve been using the land for my own purpose for such a long time up to this point anyways that A deed was meaning less to me. Finally there was a piece of paper that had the words written “He who flies and does not walk, he who does not breath but endures. He who thinks before his actions instead of following into foolishness. He who dreams of climbing and puts his hand to the task may find the scroll of the past”

It was a troubling passage as It had little to do with me. I walked where ever I went and I had to breath, and the enduring part made no since. Then the one who thinks, who the hell doesn’t think before acting except for a child. Then dream of climbing? To me it was nothing but a giant riddle of non-sense. Probably something to make those who found the man have to search endlessly into what ever might appear to fit the poetry passed upon that parchment.

Then I Continued to walk in the direction that I had. Moving silently through the underbrush and searching for what ever I could find. This time looking for anything out in the open.

A few moments later I found an opening. Except that opening was not of a field but rather a giant valley  with several hundred feet to the bottom. I figured this would make since as to why it said “he who flies and doesn’t walk” Looking around I saw branches that reached almost across the fissure before me. Then other branches on the other side. “Hair vines” I sent the hair strands to the vines and began to swing across them as the broke above me.

Soon I found myself on the other side and treading my path forward. Several minutes later I came to a pool of water. It was deep and clear, I could see a tunnel at the bottom. “He who does not breath but endures” That fit for this, if that was what it was talking about I would have to swim down and into that with out getting lost or running out of air. “ hair weapons model” I formed a balloon and filled it with air then dove down into the freezing water and kept breathing slowly in and out and pushed myself deeper into the water and through the tunnel.

Coming to the end of it, I came into a cave, outside of the tunnel I had been within. Climbing out of the water and onto the granite like surface. Starring into the darkness I listened, for I did not know what awaited me. I thought of jumping straight forward into the darkness but then the worthless poetry came to my mind. “He who thinks before his actions instead of following into foolishness.”

Then I moved my hands into the three hand seals it took to make my hair vines. They moved into the darkness and searched for me. Then I felt something bite one of them. In response I brought the other two vines to that location. Having them move like spears to pierce whatever it was. Then I heard a squeal and smelt blood. I ran forward and came to an opening in the cave that lead outside.

All around me was a large forest. It was more dense than the dark forest I had came from. The trees and smells all seemed foreign and the sounds of birds were of a strange calling. I wondered who lived in this place, or what was hidden here. Then I looked onto the horizon and saw a large mountain. “he who dreams of climbing and put his hand to the task may find the scroll of the past.”

I moved as fast as I could towards the mountain and at its edge I saw a chest, it was thirty feet up the mountain side. Not a great distance, so I used Shunshin and appeared next to it. Then I opened the unlocked chest. Within it was the scroll I had been searching for, covered in the design of tigers. With that I went back the way I came. Passing thorugh the forests, caves, and tunnels of water to find the place that was now my own, by law and by right, so that I could start my mastery of these powerful creatures of distruction.

[left thread/ tiger summoning scroll obtained]
