Description: By using their chakra and a few hand seals, a shinobi is able to project their voice to different areas in the vicinity, thus masking their location and numbers and possibly confusing the enemy.

The morning was groggy and cloudy - as per usual. Masaki slid out of his futon, shifting his weight to the side as he crab stepped forward. He sat cross legged and stared at the time: 7:00am. 'Too early', he thought and stood up slowly, grasping a pair of pants gracefully as he stood up. Stretching wildly, he began to pick up his clothes littered about the floor, groaning incessantly and make his way to the kitchen section of his room. 'Breakfast, rice, lunch...riceballs...great, not that I would expect anything different'. He grumbled to himself mentally, carelessly manouvering pots and plates until he noticed his old academy backpack resting on the ground, a cylindrical object hanging from its grasp. After a quick smile, he returned to his cooking.

The dorms he had requested for his career as a Ninja were small, shabby and cheap, so he didn't bother locking up as he walked briskly away towards the outskirts of the Village. His mother would most likely be up by then, flitting between exhausted rest and exaggerated cleaning sprees, he would whsitle and wave towards the house, letting her know he was okay. She would usually wave back if she was feeling alright, allowing some comfort for Masaki. Coming up to the house, he whistled loudly, unfortunately not answered. He paused momentarily and sighed, thinking of the three basic rice balls wrapped in cloth in his pocket. He quickly popped into the home, kicking his shoes off as he usually did and placed two of them on a piece of paper. After writing a quick 'Good Morning' On the paper, he ran straight back out, re attaching his shoes and leaping onto the rooftops, travelling to the location he had in mind for a little 'activity'.

The area he selected was one of his favourites, a quiet, calm little wood, not to far from the Village and very secluded. It allowed a little sunlight through for it to be warm and had enough space for proper movement and training. Masaki glided gracefully into a tree, somersaulting down into a crouch position and taking out the scroll from his pants' pocket. Unrolling it rather ungracefully he glanced indifferently over the list of techniques. 'Hmm...yeah, that ones okay but I'm not so sure I would really use it...thats overused and-hey! That seems simple enough!' He smiled happily at his choice and proceeded to read through all of the details.

"Okay, so, focus the chakra into the mouth and then...no actually, lets just see how that goes first." Speaking aloud to himself made him try to realise it better, not that he was showing the first indications of madness(his musings not mine).

Sitting cross legged, under a tree that allowed a little sunlight to fade through, he concentrated and focused his chakra, letting it congeal around his mouth, swirling just at the base of his neck. He moved it up gradually, allowing the chakra to move as naturally as possible, making mental notes and generating ideas of how he could form the chakra to perform the technique.

He was glad that he had brought the scroll with him, as he was able to write his notes down for future referance. Looking over these random scribblings and mental blurtings, he looked over everything, noticing that the chakra was difficult to control on its own at the back of his throat to enable him to perform the technique. It seemed to fight at him, as he approached it much as he would gather water chakra for his Tepoudamma technique. This however, was not working for this more subtle technique.

In all honesty, he was stumped. The scroll did not give enough information for him to be able to perform it as quickly as he would have hoped, and unfortunately, hope was one thing he was running out of. He fell onto his back, closing his eyes and throwing himself fully into everything he had learned. The chakra did not allow the stagnating effects of holding it in the back of his throat, nor did it want to expel subltey to affect his voice. Masaki took a step further back and attempted to look at how else spoken word is produced. And then it hit him. His mouth! Words were formed with the mouth. He sat up, excitement running through him as he called upon and focused his chakra once more, bringing it inside his mouth. A chill ran through him and he spoke.

"BLEURGH!"

A long period of silence befell, Masaki thanking his secluded spot for being so secluded, and prepared himself for another attempt at his new angle, when his stomach rumbled.

Masaki felt defeated, not to mention embarrased at the ridiculous outcomes of his attempts. Both methods he had tried failed miserably, his stomach rumbling in agreement. He lay back against the tree, sleepy and frustrated, his stomach rumbling again. Unwrapping the rice ball he took a huge bite of it, and instantly felt better. Food when you're hungry can be good medicine for dissapointment. In fact, that morning he had somehow perfected the technique of making rice balls, and groaned in delight, it truly was delicious! The plum in the center pickled to perfection, the rice a mouthwatering texture, sheer delight! He finished it eagerly, vocally demonstrating his clear enjoyment. He sighed, looking up to the misty sky. The sun shuddered through the openings in the pale veil, setting the scene for the gentle leaves to fall from the trees, almost like blossoms falling from a cherry tree. He felt calmed, his mind at rest until the technique cropped up into his mind again...

"Wait...oh...right! Now I get it!"

He hurredly sat up, a large excitable grin on his face, and prepared the hand signs and his chakra, sending it this time to his voicebox. Silently hoping in his mind.

"MASAKI NISHIMURA RULES!"

The sound emanated from almost completely opposite the clearing from Masaki. He had finally done it! By transferring the sound from his voicebox using his chakra to another prechosen loaction, he was throwing his voice! Leaping up from under the tree he stupidly jumped around, holding the technique as he sent "YAY"s and several other self congratulating phrases until grew tired of spinning around and headed to the Village. This time returning with his newly learned technique.
Leaping through the trees, he thught of all the different ways he could use the technique, confusing his opponents, giving further capabilities to his stealth and of course, if necessary, taking the time to pull a good few pranks on some of the more 'unreasonable' people who graduated with him. Somersaulting through the trees, he arrived at the outskirts, almost passing his mother's house, when he found a new use for his technique. Forming the hand seals, he took a deep breath.

"Hi mom, don't worry, I'm fine and I learned a new technique which will help me in the future. I'll make you proud, promise. Also, how good were those rice balls?"

Smiling to himself, he took a slow paced jog back to the dorms, knowing his mothers eyes were watching him as he left, happy, shocked, but proud. Although the looks of the other residents, watching a young ninja mouth words to his former house, well, what do you think?
