OOC: This is for Jibaku Fuuda: Kassei [Exploding Tag: Activate] (5 posts)

IC: Oriko came into the forest, ready to train. The first order of business was to learn the jutsu required for his exploding shuriken. He had stolen a few explosion tags from Konohagakure on his way here, and he was going to make this good. He went around his area, attaching explosion tags to the sides of the trees facing him. He had no intention of killing himself, so he made sure they were at least out of sight. If all went as planned, this would set the area fo forest ablaze as well.

Well, here we go, he said to himself as he stood in the very centre of the rough circle fo trees and formed the seal. "Kassei!" he said aloud, channelling chakra to the tags.

He waited a moment, and then finally decided that nothing had happened. It figured. He hadn't expected to be able to do it the first time. The scroll he had with descriptions of various jutsus and how they worked merely described the seal required and the amount of chakra to use for this one. It did not describe the targeting procedure, but he figured he simply had to picture the locations of the tags in his mind.

This he did, trying to keep all ten images at the front of his mind while he formed the seal again and said, "Kassei!" Again, there was nothing. He couldn't explain what he was doing wrong, so he simply prepared to try again, hoping to figure it out.

This is getting annoying very quickly, he said to himself. I am better than this; I know I am!

He was making his third attempt now, picturing the tags again and forming the seal. Yet again, nothing happened, and he cursed loudly to the heavens. He was getting nowhere fast, and he could not help but to be angry. Still, he knew emotion would get himnowhere, and he got a new idea. Instead of trying to do them all at once, maybe I should try one at a time first... He was going along the proper train of thought, and as he pictured the single tag directly in front of him, he formed the seal and said "Kassei!" for the fourth time.

This time, the tag exploded, sending a wave of wind and leaves towards him and leaving the smoking stump of a tree behind, the bulk of said tree scorched and lying away from him. He had succeeded in detonating a single tag, a good beginning but still just that: a beginning. Now he had to gain the mental focus to detonate multiple tags, as the exploding shuriken demanded four simultaneous activations. He decided to work slowly though, this time picturing the two tags that were parallel to the one he already detonated.

He spoke the command work as he made the seal, and both detonated, felling their respective trees and leaving scorch marks on neighboring ones. He was happy with the result, and pictured the next three, anticipating another success.

The three directly behind him were his next targets. he closed his eyes, clearing his mind of all but those three. He formed the seal, feeling the chakra flow through him and out of him. It reached for the tags and hit them, detonating each one simultaneously. The explosion nearly reached the two adjacent tags, but he had been careful to position them just out of range.

This next part he knew would be no challenge. He now had the jutsu mastered, and he turned and jumped back away as he formed the single seal and detonated the remaining four, proving to himself that he could do as many as he wanted to, and quite easily at that. It took very little chakra to do this, so he looked at the scroll for another jutsu to learn.
