Description: By using their chakra and a few hand seals, a shinobi is able to project their voice to different areas in the vicinity, thus masking their location and numbers and possibly confusing the enemy.
The sun was high over head and down below on the ground on the outskirts of the village a young genin was practicing his jutsu. The young genin was Niji Hebi, a fresh graduate from the academy, and he was ready to begin his real training. Over the course of his years at the Academy he had grown contemptuous of his superiors and classmates believing that he was smarter and stronger than them. Niji had longed for the day when he would be able to practice and learn jutsu on his own; that day had finally come. Niji was holding five scrolls under his arm, each one containing a jutsu that he had decided to learn. They were scrolls that he had obtained from the village library and he needed to be relatively careful with them. Niji crouched down as the sun beat onto the top of his head and scorched the ground around as he looked at the title of each of the scrolls; trying to decide which one to pick first. In the end he picked on of the simpler jutsu, Utsusemi no Jutsu. According to the scroll the jutsu was a way for a ninja to throw their voice making it difficult to detect where they were. Niji sat there for a moment and mused on all the uses that this particular jutsu had and exactly how they could be in battle. In the end he pushed his thoughts out of his mind and stood, studying the scroll and memorizing the various hand sings he needed to form.
After a moment he rolled the scroll back up and placed next to the other four on the ground before walking into what could loosely be called the center of his little training ground. Niji formed the handseals slowly, making sure not to mess up the jutsu, and then poured his chakra into his throat. He cast around for a moment before deciding that he wanted his voice to come out of a clump of rocks behind him and over to the left. Niji opened his mouth and said, “Laugh till you die.”
Niji stood there for a moment waiting for his voice to sound form the rocks but no such luck. Niji grunted to himself in acceptance of the fact that he hadn’t expected himself to be able to do it on the first try. He let his hands drop to his side where he placed them on his hips, thinking about what he did wrong or could do better. In the end Niji decided that he hadn’t used enough chakra to cause his voice to materialize. He resolved to use more chakra the next time he tried the jutsu.

Niji inhaled the dry air around him letting his lungs expand then letting the air out. This was an exercise that he did to help him focus understanding new things; after he had learned the jutsu he would be to recall it perfectly from his memory. Niji formed the handseals again, this time speeding up the formations of the seals. When he had formed the last of the seals he channeled more of his chakra into his throat and aimed at the clump of rocks behind him, “Laugh till you die.” This time he heard something, it sounded like whispered garbage, but at least this time he managed to make some noise. It wasn’t nearly as refined as Niji wanted it to be but it was a start. He stood for a moment and decided that the reason he hadn’t managed to make anything intelligible was because he wasn’t focusing enough on what he wanted said. Niji was just pouring chakra into his throat and then letting it run wild. He resolved that the next time he would focus more on projecting his voice and not let the chakra do whatever it wanted.
