The wind blew cold and silent through the land of Shadows, ruffling Skye's hair and causing it to fly wildly around his face as the young man stood along in the seemingly abandoned plain. The entire land seemed alot like this, free of people, free of distractions; full of loneliness. He'd be running for miles upon miles now and he hadn't seen a singal sign of life. With a sigh, the young shinbo fell to the ground, stabbing his blade into the solid mix of rock and sand by his feet, causing a sickening crackling sound as he lent back on his arms; it felt as if he'd been walking for days. Where the hell do I go now, Skye thought to himself as he gazed up at the eternally-black sky. In reality, he didn't really have anywhere to go. He used to call Otogakure 'home' every now and then. But with the Village of Sound now gone, he was alone in the world.

Tamotsu had been walking, the glow on his body still going on after nearly hours of the same. HE sighed as he walked along the road and then saw someone sitting down on the ground. He walked up to them and then spoke softly. "The sky will always be night here. This will never change. Not until someone learns to transcend the powers of the gods and finds the jutsu that dispels this thing." Tamotsu said as he looked at the new shinobi. This one was cute on the eyes and seemed lost. "My name is Inuzuka Tamotsu. Yours would be?"

Skye cocked his head slightly as he heard footsteps off in the distance, turning it; he saw a glowing man headed in his general direction. With a smirk, the young shinboi re-lowered his head to the ground, Shouldn't eat the fruit, he thought to himself. Shutting his eyes, he was startled slightly as he heard the voice of the man. A soft smirk crossed his face as Skye looked up at the man, listening to him talk about the power of the Jutsu that caused the everlasting night. He was about to speak, when the man announced his name. No way.. the you man thought to himself as he squinted slightly.

"I know who you are, Tamotsu-Sama." His smirk widened and a touch of blush touched his cheeks; "Everyone knows who you are". Looking up at the famed-shinobi, Skye considered his words. "You said someone would need to tranced the powers of the gods? I hear you've done something very similar to that". Again, Skye paused; "They say you've beaten death itself."

"I defeated death?" Tamotsu took knee beside Skye and then looked him in the eye, his eyes glowing red. The reflection in Tamotsu's eyes was one of a demon breaking it's chains and destroying all. "I didn't cheat death. I lived with it." Tamotsu said as he stood up and then looked to the sky above as the stars were shining. "I could show you how though. To come back from the darkness of death. IF you are willing and are not afraid to trust a total stranger." Tamotsu said as he looked back down to Skye and then smiled. "But only you can decide if it's worth it or not." He said softly.

Skye raised his eye brows slightly at Tamotsu. The boy was in shock, alot of shock. First of all, his eyes had widened as he gazed into Tamotsu's, seeing the raging demon breaking away from it's chains within the man. So it is true, he has the power to overcome death. But that demon, what the hell is that? What is this guy. Skye's thought trailed off as Tamotsu spoke again; this time offering to teach Skye how to harness this ability. The young boy was stunned. It went against all of his sensibilities, to allow a total stranger to do as he willed; yet this power. The power to live next-to, to conicide with death; it was simply too much to pass up. The young man stood to his feet, resting his right hand upon the hilt of his Chain-Sword. He was staring deep into Tamotsu's eyes; "Do as you must". Four simple words; yet they gave Tamotsu incredible power. Those four words resigned Skye to whatever task must be endured, to gain the reward of power.

"Is... that... so?" Tamotsu said as he took his blade and shoved it right into Skye's heart and turned the blade heavily. "There...." He smiled coldly as he looked at the ninja who would soon die. "Now you have no heart. How will you live?" Tamotsu said as he had flashes of the demon stabbing him through the heart and nearly killing him. "How long can you breath? I's day about 25 seconds before your mind collapses and you no longer feel the warmth you feel now." He said as he pulled the blade out and then looked at the gaping hole in the ninjas chest and smiled. "Fade away silently. Let me show you how to break death."

Skye was standing still, his body rigid as the cool breeze beat against the two men. A touch of nerves surged through the young shinobi mind as he saw the dark glint in Tamotsu's eyes. This is insane, I don't even know this guy, before his mind could get to far off-track, Skye took a deep breath; calming himself once more. As he exhaled, the blade hit. It tore through his flesh and ribs with easy, shredding straight through to the young man's heart. A gasp broke through Skye's lips, his fingers tightened around the hilt of his blade for a moment; before relaxing on their own accord. He looked into Tamotsu's eyes, refusing to let go for several moments until words began to run through his mind; "I didn't cheat death. I lived with it". With what he hoped was an epiphany of enlightenment, Skye let go. However he didn't fade into the blackness; he began to merge with it.

"Now.... we play...." Tamotsu said as his hair turned red and his eyes turned gold. He took knee and smiled at Skye's dying body. "Aww, Tamotsu. You never leave their hearts do you? Oh well. Come back to me Skye. Heed my words and fight your way through the darkness. I am yours to claim. My name is...." The man smiled. "... Onimatsu." He said as he held his hand over the wound and began feeding it Demonic Chakra. "In your mind you will see a room where 9 statues of you stand. Only one is of you and your death. Find it and shatter it. If not, your soul will perish." He smiled.

Skye could hear the voice through the darkness. It sounded like Tamotsu, yet it was different. It was deeper, darker; even evil. The demon, the young man realized as he listened to it's words. As it finished speaking; Skye's eyes opened. Yet, they weren't truly open, it was as if he were in some kind of genjutsu; but he knew this was no illusion. Skye was standing in a dark room, surrounded by 9 different statues. He tried to examine them, but they were hazy; he couldn't make them out. Closing his eyes, he thought to himself; I can't just guess, I need to fight. As if on que, when he opened his eyes, he could see. They statues depicted different phases/facets of life. They were vivid, scary; even captivating. Shaking himself slightly, he remembered his task.

Skye made his way through the room, looking at each of statues until he found what he was looking for. It simply showed him; dead with a hole where his heart should be. It was shocked; for a moment, it froze him entirely with fear. You must fight, the voice in his head scream. Suddenly, there was something in his hand; his sword. Raising it over his head, Skye brought it down with thundering might. The impact was silent, instant. The statue shattered and it was gone, along with the others. The room was now empty, blank darkness. "Tamotsu?"

"There is a room of complete darkness where you can hear the beating of a heart. But it's not yours. It's mine. You have to find my beating heart in the darkness to fill your body with warmth." Tamotsu's normal voice spoke and then he closed his eyes. He looked down at Skye's body and moved his hair aside. HE sighed and then looked at the sky. "Sorry, Tai." He said as he leaned down and began kissed Skye, feeding him the supressing chakra to restart his brain's function. His hand held over his wound and it continued to heal slowly. The exit wound was now gone.
