Sinuous writing covered the scroll, making it almost hard to read, as it curved and looped slightly, but Shima soon saw what kind of jutsu this was. For three mising-nin to steal a B-rank scroll? They must have been working for someone else. Shima shrugged it off as this was a good opportunity to learn a new jutsu, without rigid superiors criticizing him on every move.

Shima looked but there were no hand seals to carry out the jutsu, in fact it really was very vauge on what actaully happened. Shima thought this was a summoning like jutsu so he only willed more chakra into his hand, then spread it on the floor, and thought to himself. Hidden Shadow Snake Hand When nothing happened, Shima tried it again, willing more chakra in his hand and yelling it this time.

Still nothing, so Shima grabbed the scroll and looked it over again. What am I doing wrong here?

Finding no hidden message on how to perform the jutsu in the scroll, Shima was left to his own devices. Well, maybe I'm going at this the wrong way, it's obviously not a summoning jutsu, more simply just creating something out of nothing. An idea clicked in Shima's head as he from his fingers down to his elbow, making sure the muscles were lose and not all tensed up. Taking a deep breath Shima foced his chakra on the base of his elbow until it was a glowing blue aura. He then let it slowly slide up his arm until it reached his fingers, repeating the step over and over again until he could do it much faster.

Shima then began willing the chakra into tendrils to come off of his hand. They starteed off very shaky as he chakra tendrils flowed around eachother with no definate form or balance. Shima was growing frustrated now and when he accelerated the chakra too fast so it gave him a burning sensation in his hand, he roared and lashed out with his foot, crashing into the clock he had on a table and sending it shattering into the wall. Shima stood there with his eyes closed fighting down his rising emotions and the bestial states of the dozens of animal forms he had mastered. Let's try this again.

He tried to make the chakra tendrils extend, but they quickly lost shape and dissapated. Shima cursed, but was determined. He started to extend the chakra tendrils as far as it wold go, but it only reached from his elbow to his fingertips. Repeating what he had been doing without losing the existing chakra tendrils, Shima moved Chakra from his elbow to his fingertips very quickly. This stime it mwas a success, the chakra tendrils shot out, growing much more in length, and when Shima did it again, they shot all the way to the other side of the room.

Shima kept practicing this until he could control where the chakra tendrils were going and how far they could reach. Now I just have to turn them into snakes. Shima didn't know how he really could just think about turning them into snakes, but he decided to rush into it and quickly summoned the tendrils again. This time they were different. They had taken a definate shape now, the head being visible, but they were still just blue wispy lengths of chakra, except...

They had really faint small scales. Shima laughed, then negated the jutsu and let the tendrils dissipate back into his hand. Almost there, I know I can master this jutsu.

Shima sat down on his simple straw mat where he slept. It was either that or on the floor and usually he didn't even sleep as a human, it was in an animal form, as they always had the most peculiar dreams. He was taking a short break on working on the Hidden Snake Hands jutsu. It's not so physically sapping, or chakra sapping, but it's very hard on the mind to controll so many things going on with the jutsu at once. Shima had been trying the whole day to get his scaled chakra tendrils to fully transform into snakes. They kept fluctuating between simple chakra and solid forms of acctual snakes. He had actually gotten them to be serpents once, but afterwords when he tried to do it, the snakes never came back.

He closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. The jutsu was a paradox, it required great concentration, but at the same time if it was overthought, it just wouldn't happen, it had to be sponaneously controlled. Ugh, an impossibility if I ever heard one. Shima decided he wanted to give it one more go before going to sleep that night, as it was two or three in the morning. In a burst of motion, Shima snapped to his feet and shot the chakra through his arm in less than a second. He was greeted with snakes just bobing their heads up and down and flexing their coils. At first Shima was ecstatic, but then he realized he couldn't make them do anything. He kept thinking to them attack, and tried yelling at them to attack, but the only thing that happened was one of the snakes just turned its head and looked at Shima.

Shima snarled and tried to reach to punch a chair he had in his room with his hand, but instead, one of the snake heads flew and crashed into the chair, knocking it over. Shima was puzzled for a second then realized what was going on. The jounin quickly shot two of the snake heads to launch into the opposite wall, leaving fangs marks as their teeth dug through the wood. Impressive, you just have to use these like they are your hands. What if I tried something with a little more finesse. Shima created another snake head in less than a second and sent it launching towards the open window, then veered it to the left suddenly as it came through the second open window directly next to the first.

One last test. Shima mentally withdrew all of the snake hands, leaving his arm completely normal, except for the tattoos blazed all the way across his arm. Shima summoned five of the hidden snake hands in an instant an launched them at the floor, easily punching through the wooden floorboards into the apartment directly below his, which was thankfully uninhabited. Shima stood unhappily viewing the broken floorboards, but happy he had learned the jutsu. He couldn't sleep that knight, he realized, but as he strolled to the window and looked at the full moon, he didn't care.

Using his Animal Transformation technique, Shima transformed into a large bat with a four foot wingspan and took off flying into the night, feeling freer than he had in a long time.
