Daisuke sat there looking at Ekiji sleeping on his bed. He sighed as he looked at his hands gripped them hard. He pierced his skin and watched the blood flow out slowly. He normally didn't like this practice but he couldn't really punish himself. He fixed his blond hair and then stood up as the moon shone in through the room. The large king size bed was cleaner then expected and the room was larger then first glance. He leaned against the window and spoke softly to the moon. "You blessed me with another night. Now I ask, let him wake up. If he wakes, I'll repent." He said softly as he looked at the moon, a silhouette made by the moonlight covered him.

~ Something shifted in the edge of his vision, perhaps another ANBU, hiding, observing him. Why was he being observed? something was wrong here, was this a dream? it seemed so real, it could'nt be. But how was he young once again, was this his life flashing before his eyes, Ejiki had a thousand questions, and nobody but himself to answer them. The room he sat so infantly in appeared to be the house of his father, hidden under the earth itself. This place was a prison for Ejiki, a crypt made for his souls damnation. No matter how many times the boy turned around the scene remained the same, he span frantically, frieghtened, but nothing changed. The scene remained the horrifying scene of his mothers death, her body limp on the floor a Katana still lodged through her chest, and in the corner of the room his father, decapitated with a face of terror, his head alongside the fireplace. Why was his father such a coward, how could he have done what he did? more questions, not necissarily a good thing at the moment.

The room began to fade to black, Ejiki along with it

'Why am I Here?' ~

Ejiki's body shifted in the bed slightly, showing conciousness, but he remained asleep. Stuck inside his own nightmare of memory.

Daisuke looked back at the bed when he could hear small squeaks and crunches of the springs in the bed. He looked at the ninja resting, he was having a bad dream. Not that Daisuke would know but the expression on his face could give that impression. He walked over to the bed and sat down beside the ninja and began humming a tune that if heard would have lulled the ninja out of his slumber and stuck in a stupor. It was as if one could hear the symphony in his hum, a sweet lullaby of the night to calm him. To end the nightmare. ~It's been years since I've heard this hum from myself. I must feel horrible. I normally ask and don't take.~ He thought to himself.

~ More memories flashed and taunted the boy, memories of the streets, things he had done to survive, other children picking on him, every horrible memory that remained alive within Ejiki was coming forth, and at a much faster rate than the original. His heart began to race, why was this happening? why him, what had he done to deserve this torture? and then it stopped, just as it had begun the nightmare had ended, something else had formed in his mind, something much more relaxing...

"How am I..." before he could finish the thought his eye began to open ~

As his eye opened slowly, Ejiki was completely unaware of his surroundings, his head throbbed in pain, and his chest felt like it had been crushed by a tree, as he began to come to conciousness he coughed slightly, a spatter of blood hitting the pillow next to his head...

'Wait a minute... Pillow...'

"Coughing up blood is normal after what you've been through." The silhouetted version of Daisuke said softly as he looked back at the moon. He sighed and didn't bother to look back at the boy. "You fell unconscious after I...." He paused. If he spoke wrong, the ninja would hurt himself. If he spoke right, he would have a chance to tend to his weakened state. "... after you rolled onto your stomach out in the Memorial." He said lying but so sweetly it was impossible to tell. He kept his eyes on the moon and spoke. "My name is Daisuke. You're in my house after I tried to revive you."

Ejiki could hardly move, his muscles acked and he felt utterly weak and useless. His mind continued to race with extractions of the situation, pacing for plausible answers but none came immediatly to mind. He coughed once again, less bloody this time, but he was still in chronic pain.

"Could you..." a small cough, no blood. "Ugh, not.. have taken me to the... Hospital?"

Ejiki's voice was more serious than usual, he was ever so curious about everything at the moment, he could not make sense of what had happened, which was dream, which was not, he continued trying to gather his thoughts as he awaited a response.

"I'll be honest, you would have died before making it." He said softly. But then he bit himself. He knew he accidentally said what he wasn't supposed to say. "I mean, you would have been worse of the more you waited. It was serious and I had no time to think." He stood up and walked over to the window. "You should be grateful that I even decided to bring you here and nurse you. I could have left you there for whoever." He tried to turn the subject around, his voice losing it's charming appeal, reveal a voice of a teen scorned by years of damnation. "If you wanna go, get up on your own. Otherwise, heed me."

Ejiki lost himself in thought completely he had questions, concerns even for the actual events for this man was now lying to him, but he had not the strength to move nor, even figure out remotly were he was, instead the boy just closed his eyes once again, letting out a soft sigh and trying to relac his torn body.

"Could be worse, I could be dead" the boys voice was ever so monotone, he appeared to pity himself.

As he tried to relax he thought of the nightmares he had witnessed in his ever so vivid dream. Perhaps he was to blame for not standing up to his father, protecting his mother, perhaps he was guilty of the same fate of his father, and instead was brutally charged with life to remember the event unforgivingly. A single tear dripped from his closed eyes.

"Worse?" Daisuke said as he grabbed the boy's arm painfully and yanked him to sit upright. He glared into his eyes powerfully as if to glare at his soul. "I wouldn't let worse happen. I'm not these other people who see a body and think it's not worth saving. I'm not a cold person whose disallows life to those who need it." He growled as he looked Ejiki deep into his eyes. "I can see pain in your eyes. A deep pain that's cold and can kill a man. Is that the kind of pain you carry around with you? To pity yourself?" He said as he threw Ekiji back down on to his back.

Ejiki took the abuse, the pain seemed to subside slightly as the man threw him back to the soft surface of the bed, perhaps it was the distraction from the pain, perhaps Ejiki was tougher than he thought, either way it no longer made a difference, he was a guest in this house and he would act like one.

"I apologize, I didn't mean to..." cutting himself off Ejiki thought more, he didn't want to offend his host, perhaps it would be best to speak when spoken to. he coughed once again, this time was much less painful than the others, no blood, no chest pain. Just a run of the mill cough.
