What software are you using? (ie. phpBB2, invisionfree, vbulletin, etc.)
But normally you find the footer and paste in the code where you want the image to appear, usually at the bottom of the footer code. Your image code should look something like this:

Of course if you are advanced in coding you can make that code fancier to have hover over effects, etc. But that is the basics.

I would have never learned anything about coding without mine. 3 straight years of it, although technically I flunked the last year.

He's using phpBB2 i believe. He's using myfreeforum.org just like I said I was when I was asking for help as well in the drop box.
I found the section that he's talking about where you'd add affiliate banners, but I can't remember where I found it *fails*

ACP -> Styles -> Edit Templayes/Logos -> Select Template -> overall_footer.tpl
