Standard Newbie Disclaimer: If I did anything too terribly stupid with the techniques and stuff, let me know about it in as many words as you see fit. Thank you. Also, the history is kind of sub par on this character. I can flesh it out a bit if need be.

Name: Ragan Guren

Weight: 233 lbs.

Appearance: For starters, Ragan possesses a very, very large build for his age. In fact, saying that he has a large body for his age is almost like saying that fire isn’t all that hot - in other words, the definition of understatement. While a member of the Kaen clan, Ragan rivals many Akimichi in terms of weight, and might even have a bit of a lead on them in terms of height. All that weight is made up mostly of muscle, but admittedly a good portion is fat as well. To be a member of a clan specializing in ninjutsu and genjutsu, Ragan has a build meant more for taijutsu. If a metaphor could be used to help define his body type, an ancient, sturdy oak would suffice wonderfully.

Starting at the top, Ragan has a mop of coarse hair the color of moss in the shadows of a tree. It grows straight and true, and he keeps it cut short; if the hair begins to get in his eyes, he cuts it back. A paralysis inducing pollen scatters from the hair, but not many people become affected at his level. The young shinobi’s eyes are dark brown and marked in places with green like summer sunlight shining through maple leaves. The sockets slant downward, giving Ragan’s eyes a passive quality befitting of his personality. However, little emotion tends to leak through them. Though his size would suggest otherwise, his chin is still round with his disappearing youth. Furthermore, one might expect a person with such a large physique to bear the mementos of numerous scuffles. By virtue of the chlorophyll in his faint green skin, all scars and damage has been melted away, leaving him with a better complexion than most teenagers can brag about.

Naturally, Ragan dresses in large, comfortable clothes. Most of his attire is comprised of cotton – grown by the clan for quality, of course – dyed earthy shades of green, brown, and tan. His favorite style of shirt is a long sleeved, slightly baggy tunic-style garment. Eventually, he will have nothing to fear from being grabbed due to his clan’s pollen. Also, a pouch of shuriken is strapped to his left forearm and hidden within the sleeve. This shirt is then tucked into a pair of denim jeans held up by a brown leather belt. Attached to this belt on the left is a holster for a stick, staff, axe, or spear, and attached on the right a canvas pouch for money, provisions, etc. Like most ninja, Ragan’s kunai pouch is attached to his right thigh, just above the knee. Heavy boots cover his feet, and while his mobility might suffer because of it, a giant like him isn’t going to be the most nimble thing on the planet anyway. Finally, he wears his forehead protector around his forehead like the pragmatist he is.

Personality: Ragan literally translates as “naked eye.” His parents named him such with the wish that he would always trust in what he could see, and not get trapped in petty political struggles as they did. Regardless of the success of this blessing, Ragan turned out to be quite the realist. He does not get caught up easily in matters of principle, and cares even less for wars of semantics. If he sees a problem, then it needs to be fixed. If people are speculating about what could potentially pose a problem if the phase of the moon is right, then it would be better to save breath and apply it to something more meaningful. Clearly, Ragan isn’t the easiest person to get along with at times.

This problem is exacerbated by his rather laconic side. Ragan sees no reason to mince words when a facial expression or hand gesture could do just the same. People tend to find him a little hard to read, at least among those close to his own age. Ragan is a textbook introvert, preferring the company of trees and animals to people. Furthermore, the young ninja loves his tranquility. An easy way to irk him is tainting an otherwise peaceful area. All in all, he is still a kind soul, just one that doesn’t like to spend much quality time with others.

Moreover, Ragan can be described as a technical pacifist. He angers slowly, but when enraged only the dramatic chipmunk can describe the complete ethical 180. He considers violence a last resort, but when pushed to a last resort, it only makes logical sense to give it one’s all. Ragan holds all life in great sanctity, and wanton destruction of it is sure to dredge up the last resort. He hates the thought of killing, and will do anything to avoid it. Unfortunately, this tends to leave enemies in pretty bad shape for a long time. It is hard to be a ninja while paralyzed from the waist down, for instance.

Special Abilities:

Name: Gaia Release

Description: Gaia's Release is a special ability that is considered odd to some. It enables a Guren to "speak" to the flora of the world. Because of this, their cellular structures are far different from most normal ninjas as they have the ability to photosynthesize, thus eliminating huge rest periods for recovery and eating consistently to survive. It also allows them to grow flower patches and a single tree with the simplest of ease. However, doing one tree drains them heavily and they must rest. Their hair has natural pollen based on their primary element. Water has a pollen of sleep, which make a person of a rank below them sluggish and two ranks below fall asleep instantly. Earth has the Pollen of Paralysis, which one rank below has trouble moving, while two ranks cannot move at all. These pollens last 2 posts.

Jutsu:

Name: Bunshin no Jutsu - Clone Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: E (Basic)
Requirements: None
Description: Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. The Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

Name: Henge no Jutsu - Transformation Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: E (Basic)
Requirements: None
Description: Henge no Jutsu is a ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. Henge allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents. However, it does not grant one the properties of said objects or skills of that person, meaning turning into a weapon will not allow you to cut an opponent and turning into a dog will not give you a great sense of smell.
This technique can also be used in conjunction with someone, who may a person, a pet or a summoning creature, in which case it is called Konbi Henge (Combination Transformation). However, its principles remain the same.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu - Body Substitution Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: E (Basic)
Requirements: None
Description: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack. Naturally, it won't work with another person unless their skill gap is enormous, and the object to replace oneself with must be close in size and weight to the ninja themselves. This technique must be set up a little ahead when fighting skilled opponents, otherwise, you may end up getting struck because you wouldn't have enough time to use it.

Bloodline Jutsu:

Name: Rapid Heal
Type: Nin
Rank: D-B
Requirements: Guren Bloodline, Given At Birth
Description: A special ninjutsu that is always active and costs little to no chakra. The user's skin is like plant cells and absorbs the sun’s rays to heal damaged cells. At E, it heals small cuts, bruises and scratches in one post. At C, it can heal minor burns, aches and normal cuts in 2 posts. At A, it can heal 2nd Degree burns slowly, non-life threatening deep cuts and broken bones in three posts. At S, all of the aforementioned afflictions including poisons are dispelled in 2.

Jutsu you want to Learn: A few Doton here and there, the rest of the Kaen clan techniques, and maybe the odd taijutsu. Perhaps I'll give him the Senmetsuken Ryuu, as it seems a cross between Tsunade's strength and Sanosuke's Futae no Kiwami.

Background: Born and raised within the confines of Iwagakure, Ragan has never saw the world outside of a few miles from his village. His mother and father both spent more time behind a desk than off helping fight for their homeland, and as such they named him Ragan with the wish that he would only trust to what his eyes could see. By the time he was a toddler, it was clear that Ragan was going to be much larger than almost any child within the Kaen clan. Apparently, recessive genes hide even under the domination of a clan bloodline. As per the usual, other children accepted this fact in stride and afforded Ragan a normal childhood. That is, until he entered the ninja academy…

For the first couple of years, everything remained as it was. Then, when more and more acclaim was placed upon speed, stealth, and acrobatic ability – pretty much the antithesis of Ragan’s skill set – he became ostracized from the majority of the students. Just about the only thing that he could keep up in was accuracy, and he was only average at that. As for bookwork, his above average mind did better than some others, but theory meant nothing to anyone if it could not be put into practice. Ragan’s blood gave him the ability to commune with the local flora, and he began to forsake human acceptance in favor of acceptance by nature. As a final positive note, Ragan did manage to graduate on time, even if his Kawarimi was barely acceptable.

Since graduating, Ragan began focusing on his specialties rather than on required curriculum. If he cannot be as fast as other ninja, then he can be stronger. If he cannot be as agile, he can be sturdier. After all, an oak can withstand even the ravages of time.

Holy hell, tall and big for a 14 year old, no? Village is Iwagakure No Sato, not Rock.

Only other problem I see is your fighting styles; take out pacifism stuff and with a bloodline it would be either Ninjutsu Major / Taijutsu Minor, or Ninjutsu specialist and no taijutsu.

Okay, I subbed in the Japanese and got rid of the pacifism quip. I wanted to play a freaking huge character for once, as almost everything I've made in the past is either normal or skin and bones. He kind of fell into the "gentle giant" stereotype a bit, but I intend to follow in the footsteps of hbi2k (the abridger) and actively subvert that.

Thanks for the time it took to look over this so quickly. I know grading is my absolute least favorite thing to do.
