First an uppercut or series of uppercuts is performed. After that, a back flip kick is used to send the opponent falling rapidly towards the ground. Finally you land the middle of your opponent's back with your heel, which damages their spine.

Takuma Minukaza felt the sun bear down on his back. He was out of the city now, his feet buried deep within the sand. A breeze picked up and carried bits of sand from place to place. It was a barren place, really, nothing moved for miles. The boy sighed, this was his haven. He liked to be alone, with nothing moving around him; the perfect place to practice. He dropped his pack into the sand, little grains flying everywhere. He reached into his pack and strapped on his weights on his ankles and wrists.
Well then, let's get started...
He pulled out the scroll which he had acquired from his parents, and began to read it.
So...just some uppercuts, a backflip in mid-air, that sounds fun, and land with my heel on the opponent's back. Takuma looked around in the sand, and then back at the scroll.
"Hm."
Takuma closed his eyes, and put his strength into his bicep, forcing his arm upward. He felt the weight of the sand push his arm down, but he fought against it. After that, he immediately let the chakra run through him, and leaped up in the air. A moment of bliss ran through him as the feeling of weightlessness went through him.
He extended out a leg and began a backflip, but grossly overcalculated. The weight of the sand weights caused him to fly far out, and land on his head. Sand filled up his mouth and nostrils, and he sat upright, spitting furiously.

Takuma slowly got to his feet, shaking the sand out of his hair. This time, he spread his feet out a little further to give himself a supporting stance, then tried at the uppercut again. He pushed his fist into the air, forcing it up against the sand weights on his wrists.
He pushed the chakra through his body as he jumped up, his feet pushing against the soft sand. He snapped his feet forward, causing him to rotate in a flip-like motion. He then pulled it back, which pushed his body further through the flip motion.
After the backflip, I--
His thought ended abruptly after he landed on his head yet again. His stance that he had used did not support a high enough jump, so he was not all the way through the flip in time. He, once again, got the sand out of his eyes, nose, mouth, and hair.
He stood up straight, and shook his clothes to get any bits of sand out. An anger boiled deep inside of him, but he quickly cooled it. Takuma was used to keeping a calm composition, and didn't want to destroy it, even out in the middle of nowhere.

The morning sun had long-since said it’s goodbyes, and had ushered in the sun of the noon. Takuma had missed lunch: he would not eat until he is able to finish and perfect his training. The sand, which had been cold from the overnight chill, became warm, and baked the feet of the genin. The young ninja gave a long sigh before he began again. He kicked a mound of sand, and readied himself.
He spent a while trying to figure out the stance, jumping up in each stance before he makes the same mistake as he did last time. Some stances worked perfectly, but he wasn’t able to get off a good uppercut; some were terrible, but were perfect for the uppercut. So, this technique is all about mixing and matching; quick movements and quick stance changes.
Takuma practiced changing from a steady, strong stance to a light, airy stance in one quick movement. His feet would often get stuck in the sand, and he would fall over. Other times he would get it, but it wasn’t quick enough. After what seemed like hours, he had perfected the stance change. He wiped sweat from his forehead, and took water out of his bag. He quickly downed half of it, and stored the rest for later. His stomach grumbled, but he ignored it; it was time to try out the move.
He spread his legs, his feet sliding against the warm sand. He closed his eyes, and everything came still. The wind stopped, and the sun’s warmth seemed to fade. He pumped his fist into the air as hard as he could, sending his body into a wild spin of kinetic energy. He quickly shifted his stance, but the strong blow had thrown him off balance. He jumped up, but the momentum carried him into an odd spiral and he landed on his back. He lay there for a moment, trying to think of what he did wrong.
Because there was no force to slow the uppercut, and so it carried my body into an odd spin.
Training on the air, and training against an opponent were two different things, so the genin realized. He gave another sigh, and lay there in the sand. It seemed as if all this time had gone to waste…
“No,” he told himself, “it did not.”
He stood up and brushed away the sand. He looked into the distance, and told himself:
“Nothing is ever done in vain. The sun trekked across the desert sky, heading towards the west. The remains of the genin’s water supply dwindled, and the ninja had his hands deep in sand. He felt every grain of sand around his hands shift, and move around his long fingers. He had decided to create a mound of sand to simulate the new jutsu on an enemy. The area around the mound had been depleted of sand to make up for the mound, and the genin stepped back to admire his work.
When he stepped up to the mound, he first noticed that the area around the mound was not flat, but sinking down towards the mound. He, at first, disliked this, but then he reminded himself that all ninja need to learn how to fight on all terrain. But then, how am I going to fight with sand in the middle of the forest? He pushed the dreaded thought to the back of his mind and got into stance.
He spread his legs once again, and quickly did the stance change. He smiled as he successfully pulled it off, and got in his stance for the real thing. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He slowly let it out, and opened his eyes.
He shoved his fist into the mound of sand, demolishing the peak. He then let his chakra flow through him and jumped in the air, and counterbalanced the weights in his body with quick, snapping movements. Right before his heel hit the would-be opponent, he shouted: “Makai Ryu Degeki!”
He stopped his foot in mid-air, and slammed it down into the remaining pile of sand. Bits of sand flew everywhere, and the genin smiled at his work. He had accomplished the task, but that was just the first step. The words of his father: You cannot learn to crawl before you learn to walk-- you must master crawling before you learn to walk
The genin went back to his city. His training was not complete; he would come back tomorrow and practice the jutsu for the entire day. But for now, he was hungry and tired. No words were spoken the next day as the Mizunaka Genin practiced the new jutsu every waking second. The sun shined hard upon the young ninja, creating a dreadfully hot environment. However, this did not bother Takuma as he was intent on mastering his new jutsu.
The sun rose, and Takuma was practicing. The sun was on the height of it's arc, and Takuma was practicing. The sun began to fade against a group of clouds, creating the evening, and Takuma was practicing. The sun set, creating a lack of light, and Takuma was still practicing.
The young genin, long after dark had settled upon the Sand Village, decided that he had mastered the jutsu. He admired his work that he had done over the past few days, and was extremely proud. He now had another weapon in his arsenal if the occasion to need it arises.
